I bought this as a gift. It has not been installed yet. But I am expecting it to be a hit based on the reviews. This will be a useful addition to the home.

I was never able to get it to set up. I gave up after phone support failed to walk me thru steps. Did everything they instructed and they got so frustrated it wouldn't work, they quit trying.

These are OK, but require a separate app and setup takes a few minutes for each plug. I will be returning as I prefer Philips Hue bulbs over these plugs.

I love this smart plug because of its small size and its compatibility with Alexa devices for voice control. But you don't need an Alexa device, just a smart phone running iOS or Android so that you can set it up and control the advanced features such as scheduling. It's easy to use and easy to set up. I appreciate that TP-LINK has placed a power button on the side of the plug so that I can power off whatever is plugged into it without getting out my smart phone. Because I have Alexa devices, the voice commands (on and off only) make it especially convenient. You can plug a TV or a slow cooker or a lamp into the outlet -- anything that can be left turned on when the power is cut or resumed by the smart plug. The free Kasa app is for iOS, which I use, and Android phones and tablets. Set up and programming is easy using the app. I occasionally have had to reboot my plug because it isn't responding, but that's rare. Mostly, I can access it whenever I want. I especially like the scheduling aspect so that I can have my TV come on for a specific amount of time to keep my bird company. (Yeah, I know.) This smart plug is a good place to start if you aren't yet sure whether you'll warm to the whole smart home idea. If you do like it and if you're like me, you'll want to get more than one. works fine for manually turning on and off, however there is something wrong when you can't set up a schedule to turn on and off . Will try another manufacturer next time

I could get it to work with my phone but not with a second generation alexa dot via voice. I'm sure it could be me but there is not much support. Worth a shot for $10.

Doesn’t always work with my Alexa. Sometimes it disconnects by itself and we have to go into the app to turn it on or off instead of having Alexa do it.

Tried setting this up on 2 separate phones. Both phones took 3 tries to connect. When it decides to work it was only ok.

I’m still not sure what is the big fuss over this plug. I have it and have not found it’s helped me tremendously yet. Maybe it’s just me though.

Had problems with this plug. Could not make it work in my house for some reason. Looked around for solution but could not find so I took it back.

I purchased this as a gift for someone, however, It hasn't been utilized, but has gotten good reviews elsewhere. I bought this because the sales person pitched it to me for 5 bucks.

I am constantly losing connection with my lamp when connected to this. I am not sure if it is due to the plug, Alexa or my internet.

Most of the smart home gear is overpriced in my opinion, but the response is quick enough. They lack hardware security in my opinion, but nothing is perfect

Took several attempts to setup because my modem has both 2.4 and Netgear 32.5G. Works for me but still wish it were easier to setup.

Because I am not satisfied with Echo, we haven't set up the plug to control even a light. Don't want things that require apps on a smartphone. Big waste of time and money.

When I first got this it was awesome. Its been over a year. And now i have to reconnect/reinstall almost every day. Which is a hassle since it turns on the light.

Standard Plug, When it works it's Great... But if you have any Wi-Fi trouble it's a pain. Same as others, What plague others does the same with this one.

I opened the box, followed all instructions and it did not work. Maybe it was defective cause the light didnt even turn on. Had to return it and get a different brand.

Not overwhelmed with this product class. Too bulky, not effective in it's use. Connectivity was wonky with Google Home.
