This item was part of a Black Friday promotion where you could purchase it for $5 when you bought an Echo Dot. It was an easy decision to buy it and dip my toe into the smart home world. Like the Echo Dot you have to download and set it up via an app, Kasa in this case. It was easy and straightforward and I also had to update the firmware afterward but that was also straightforward. You do have the ability to manually turn on and off what ever electrical device you have the plug connected to via the button on the sice. I liked the fact that you're able to set a schedule via the Kasa app. I no longer need the manual timer where the time would be off by 10-15 minutes. Would I pay the full price for this? Probably not. The only negative I have it that the plug is kind of bulky so if you're planning on plugging this into an outlet where there is furniture that is flush against the wall then I suggest moving it elsewhere.

i like this plug better then the bigger version of it. it is easier to plug in other devices if needed to the other outlet. I am currently using this device for my Curio Cabinets. I have them on a timer rather then me always turning them on and off each day. Like that fact that i can turn it on or off through Alexa or the app. The fact that you can set a timer on it made me happy. You can also see how long it has been on for or even set a timer to turn it off after so many minutes.

I purchased this to work with my Echo Dot. Very easy setup with instructions which made it easier and quick to do. Has worked excellently I have had no issues and would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This unit is super easy to set up and even links with my Echo Dot. I currently use it to turn on and off my Christmas tree. Great to set it and also be able to turn on/off remotely via app or via my Echo Dot.

If you want to make your life easy than just get this one. You can make any plugins smart and works well with alexa. Also you can control with tp link app, so if you are not home than control via internet.

I found this product affordable and consistent. I have two of these and It allows me to control the ON/OFF switch of my appliances from my smartphone. - Easy to pair - Accessible from smartphone - Reliable operations - ON/OFF using Timer operation - Scheduled ON/OFF - Control from anywhere where Internet access is available and more. I'm very happy with it. Will buy more when there is another sale.

This is my second TP-Link smart plug. The set up routine is very straightforward, and using it either with the Kasa app or Amazon Alexa is simple and kind of fun as well. I appreciate being able to turn on the lights remotely when we end up being away from home longer than expected, and lighting up a darkened room before entering using Alexa has saved a lot of stumbling around. The Kasa app also makes it easy to set up schedules while away from home.

Got it as part of promotion with echo dot for $5 and for sure for that price I cannot complain. But if I have to pay anything more than $10 then I would look otherwise. Setup was easy and worked well till a power outage and after that it was all downhill. I can start and stop remotely but cannot put a schedule to it, reason: app (iOS App) says cannot update the plug. Seriously!!!! the same app can turn on and off the plug but cannot push the schedule. Now that's something broken right there if it is able to communicate with the plug for basic functionality, but for pushing a schedule.

I love these things! I watch for these to go on sale to add to my collection. After you've done one and learn the process, it takes less than two minutes to set up additional plugs. I have bought to put at every window of our house for Christmas candles and decorations. Other times during the year, i use for various lights so it looks like someone is home when we're not (you can turn on and off from far away). A cool feature with the app is you can use your camera to take a picture of the window/lamp or whatever so you have a visual reminder of what the plug operates You can schedule individual plugs with various times, schedules groups of plugs (like for Christmas decorations) or manually push a button on your phone to turn a plug/lame on/off. One note: there is no way to manually override and turn on a lamp on the plug itself-- you would have to turn it on with the app. These things are the ticket to get rid of those noisy/clicky timers that we have all used for years.

Absolutely love these outlets. They are easy to setup, install and integrate with Alexa. The initial outlets I’ve had for over 6 months and they continue to remain connected and work flawlessly. Being able to remotely control and see whether they are on/off via the phone app is comforting. Once connected they can easily be moved around without needing to be reconnected. They are simply great!

Works well with echo dot. I’m controlling my Christmas lights with it. Timer function works well. Not too bulky. I tell Alexa to turn it on and she turns it on. Setup was simple. Great product!

This unit is a great size so that it will not interfere with other devices getting plugged in to the outlet. Very responsive and easy to setup. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

The T-P Link mini plug is small enough to not block other outlets and will work plugged into a power strip. Set up is simple with the free Kasa app. It works well and responds to Amazon Alexa.

Great product and simple to use and install. TP link products do not require a hub. You just need to download the app to your smart phone to complete setup. I work great with the Echo units

Super easy to set-up and use the device. I love being able to control the device from anywhere, even if I’m not home. Or, just set a schedule and forget it. I plan on buying more of these.

The TP-Link Smart plug works great. I originally bought two WeMo plugs. After spending two hours trying to get the first one to connect to my network, I gave up and returned them. I traded them in for two TP-Link plus. I was able to set the first one up in less than five minutes. It quickly connected to my network and the set-up on the app was easy and fairly intuitive. I bought them to control our window candles and Christmas tree. I have them set-up to turn on at sunset and go off at 10 pm. I also have them connected to my Amazon Echo Plus for voice control. Both the auto on-/off and voice control work great. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from the WeMo.

At first I didn’t really know what to think about this. Or really what it did. But now I love it. I love that you can control it from an app. I love that you can set timers on it. When I got it I used it for my Christmas tree because of the timers on it. I love that it links with my amazon echo. Even though I got this free with my Amazon Echo I definitely will pay for more.

Well made plug that works well in my home network. Setup is easy and the user interface with my Apple products worked well. Also, TP Link plugs work well in the Amazon Echo ecosystem.

I have several of these plugs in my home and they all work perfectly. I love the fact that they work with Amazon Alexa and I don't have to crawl over furniture to turn lamps on/off.

I didn’t think I was gonna love the Link as much as I do. It’s cutrently operating our Christmas tree. You can also use it as a timer and away mode is awesome (random off and ons).
