||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this based on other reviews and the fact that it is now advertised as being IFTTT ready. You would assume that being a smart switch you could control the smart plug remotely with this smart switch in the same way you can with the Belkin and other brands. Not so. I went ahead and installed it based on the better reviews and overall feel and function. If you don't want to use a voice activated service such as Alexa or Google Assistant or use a hub you need to automate using IFTTT. This is easy if you buy the Belkin, the actions and triggers are both present for the plug and the switch. For the TP-Link only the actions are present, not the triggers. This makes it currently impossible to build your own applet. There are very few other published applets and they are based on location proximity or time of day predominantly. Hopefully they get their act together soon as it seems to be a really nice switch. One note, my plug, like other reviewers stated, said it was previously installed so I needed to reset it. I don't believe it was returned as the box had the original shrink wrap that matched the switches. I carefully looked it over and it seemed brand new. I suspect something is amiss at the factory and is causing these to register as having been previously configured. This will be a 5-star product when the IFTTT works.
