    Ok. Loses connection at times

    Purchased a couple of these for my father in law to work with a Google home device. One of them that is closest to the router and google home looses connect from time to time and has to be reset. Haven't had time to troubleshoot yet as he's a few hours away but it's frustrating for him and myself.

      We’ll be happy to address the concerns you have about your smart device’s Wi-Fi connectivity.

      We always recommend ensuring your router’s Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device’s location. Within the TP-Link Kasa app there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu. Ideally, the reading should be >-70 dBm.

      If the signal is within the ideal range and you’re still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa app is up to date, then update your smart device’s firmware using the easy steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html

    Poor integration with Siri

    The switch integrates well with Google Home and Alexa, but not Siri. Since I wanted to control the porch light from outside the home "Hey Siri, turn the porch light on" as we're driving up, Siri is the best choice. Sadly, the only way to integrate is an ugly programming hack, that I'm unwilling to do.

    Great packaging, but lower quality

    I am somewhat disappointed with this purchase. I have been unable to connect this to my Wifi. Seems that the electronics are substandard, since my Ring Doorbell connected with ease and is further away from my router. Wish I can return it!

    This switch CANNOT be used if your light switches only have a hot, neutral and ground wire. It requires a 4 wire setup, not very common in the US. Make sure you check your house wiring situation beforehand, this is not on the packaging at all.

If your home's wiring does not meet these requirements, we recommend consulting with a licensed electrician to discuss what options are available to you.     Got this in March By December the spring mechanism Has worn down and it doesn’t turn and on off as well. You have to click it on and off We have four of these in the house and higher traffic ones are having more issues

    I have problem setting it up using the wifi to control what time for it to automatically turn on at sun set and turn off at 11PM. Just did not work at all.

Our smart plugs, bulbs, and switches are designed for quick and easy setup using the Kasa app. If you're having difficulty connecting them to your network during setup, please ensure your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart device's location.

      Please also ensure your smartphone is not connected to a VPN during setup, as this may interfere with the installation process.
