    The customer rep that I spent considerable time on line with sold me something that I could not use. Subsequently I had to return product, a problem for you and I that would have never happened if they would have LISTENED to me. Making the right sale is far more important than just making a sale!

    Sort of works well but if you run into a problem don't expect Kasa to help. They will run you through the mill de-installing reinstalling in a different location, reset until you run out of patience. My suggestion is to by a Wemo. The same switch is rock solid.

    Do NOT buy this switch!!!

    I'm a journeyman electrician in other words I can wire your whole house this switch does not work it apparently has a load capacity and if anything over say 100 Watts it says it can take up to 600 watts that is not true you cannot do it. I Purchased 2 switches at the same time try to exchanging them same results. At this point I'm wasting my time experimenting to see what it actually can do and I have not successfully come up with any real conclusions do not buy this switch

    Hire electrician

    You need to not only hire an electrician you must be prepared for the devices to be broken in box, and not to meet code. The 800 number on the box is bogus unless you want programming help, which you really do not need, particularly since the help desk is in a country with poor communications and people who are challenged with english. Since there are all types of electrical switches this product only meets the usefulness of one type.

    This is one of the worst things that I have ever purchased and is such a big waste of money time and effort do not buy this company has so much they need to work on before they sell any more of their products I bought multiple of these and they all sucked horribly and they don’t work!!!!! Very unhappy!!!!

    Worked Great at First

    Worked great at first. I wired correctly and they work amazing for about 3 months. They started to disconnect from the wifi and I would have to rest it every time. Now they don't even stay connected to the wifi for longer than a couple of hours. Switches work great, but I wouldn't have replaced the switches I had if I thought this was going to happen.

Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.

    Smart Wi-fi Light Switch

    I have four flood lights in my backyard. When switched on they illuminate my whole yard. The only problem is that the switch for them is downstairs next to a sliding glass door and covered by curtains. Many times I wished that when I was upstairs I could turn on the lights to see what was going on in the yard, without having to go downstairs. I know it’s a first world problem, but technology came to my rescue! The TP-Link Smart Wi-fi light switch was the answer to my problems. I already have six TP-Link Wi-fi Plug Minis controlling various devices around my home and the Alexa integration is awesome. The light switch made an awesome addition to my burgeoning smart home. The KASA app does walk you through the installation and I watched a few YouTube videos, however, I had to move a couple of other switches, so I hired an electrician. He was done in just over 10 minutes and my switch was added to my network in just a few minutes after that. I already had a KASA account, so you will need to create one if you don’t have one. You then select that you want to add a Smart Switch. The Wi-Fi light will blink amber and green. You then connect the device to your home network, name your new switch and you’re done! I then launched the Alexa app and added the switch to my devices and now I was able not only able to control the switch via the KASA app, but also from telling Alexa to turn on my flood lights. The KASA app allows you to set up a schedule for your devices. I find the app very intuitive. You can also set up an Away schedule. When in Away Mode, during the period of time, your device will be randomly turned on or off. This will help deter those ne’er-do-wells who might be scoping your home. You can control your lights and switches from anywhere you have access to the internet. Inside the box besides the switch and switch plate are four wire nuts. It comes with 2 year warranty and 24/7 tech support. The switch also works with Google assistant. The only suggestion I would have would be to offer these in different colors. I have some crème colored switches in my kitchen that I would love to “switch” out, but the white would not go with the rest of the kitchen. I will keep my fingers crossed! Submitted as part of a free sample program.

    I was very unhappy with this switch. I bout 7 of them and will be returning them. The switch has a known issue with disconnecting after setup. As far as I could find the company has not addressed this issue. I will be returning all of them.
