The switch itself worked well. The TP-link software setup is guided and if the TP link skill is installed on your echo dot, just command echo to "discover" and you'll be ok in minutes. The wires leading to the switch are flexible and the ends are tinned, so you don't violate the electric code which prohibits stranded and solid wires to be connected. Includes 4 wire nuts and some wall plate options. With a TP link switch, you can use your phone to turn on your lights as you are getting near your home. Good product for specific needs. TP-link products get regular firmware and software updates.

Fantastic dimmer for any wall switch. I purchased this for my backyard and it works wonderfully! I attach it to my Google Home in when I get home I’m able to turn on my backyard lights with just a verbal command. Whenever my dog enters the backyard because I live in the hills, I’m able to activate the backyard lights with the verbal command which assist my sensor lights in illuminating the entire backyard. I am very happy with this purchase.

As an addition to an existing smart home, the light switch fit right in with no hiccups, decor or otherwise. Currently using to automate the porch lights' schedule, and works with no adjustments needed. Literally set it and forget it.

This is my favorite thing in my house. I got this because I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom and I hate having to get out from under the warm blankets to turn off the light. Unfortunately I couldn't find any bulbs that would fit into my ceiling fan with the dome on it so I got a smart light switch instead and this is one of my favorite purchases this year, maybe even ever!

You NEED this. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to be able to control the lights with my phone and voice. Forgot to turn a light on for the pets and stayed out later than you wanted? Just flip it on with your phone. I can set times for lights to switch on and off to give the illusion we are home when we're actually spending a stretch of time away. It's wonderful.

Switch is simple to install (single pole only for this model). I have it controlled by Alexa. Just works.

Easy to install as long as you have some neutral wires in your box (white wires). Most boxes have them bundled together. The switch works as intended. I have 2, this one and the dimmer switch and they both works fine and cost less than the Caseta switches which I have also. The Caseta does not require a neutral wire and is very reliable but you need their hub in order to make it work. These do not need hub.

We recently upgraded our patio and this switch was installed to control the fan. We then decided to install one for front porch which helps when we're not home in time to turn on the lights. We have now become too lazy to turn on the lights but we love it. Very easy to install only took us 11 minutes. You don't need a professional. Works with both the Kasa app and Android Smart Things.

I have installed three of these in my home and it’s wonderful to make any light a smart light. The first when I said it was fairly easy after that five minutes and you’re done inside the app. The wiring also very simple you don’t need much electrical knowledge to do it there’s a little video but the app provides and I’ll walk you through step-by-step but as always if worried about doing anything electrical seek an electrician

This is the perfect item for what I need to control specific lightings. Other items like the Philips Hue light bulbs are great, however, if a bulb goes out, you have to buy another bulb, and that can be expensive over time. With the TP-Link - Kasa Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch, you can control several bulbs with this one switch. That is why I have several throughout my home. NEVER come home to a dark house again.

I’ve purchased and installed 4 of these switches without a problem. The one issue I had is more related to outdated electrical code rather than the product. If installing these in surface mount boxes in a garage or basement my local code required a metal box enclosure. Since these switches use WiFi the metal box significantly affected the wireless signal strength. Other than that issue the switches have performed flawlessly.

Fun product. This was easy to install though a bit large for the electrical box. Maybe not the best for my health as now I do not have to constantly get up and turn off the blinding lights.

These switches are fantastic. If you don’t want to use the female “hey so and so” apps, you can still use these without them, via the Kasa app. Timers are excellent, my kids leave the lights on all the time, so I just set the timers to turn off every hour on the hour after midnight! No electrician required if you’re comfortable, the directions on the app make it easy to DIY.
