Customers highly value the excellent camera quality, long battery life, and effective night vision of this Tapo outdoor security camera system. The ease of setup and installation, along with the option for local storage, are also frequently praised. While some users noted occasional inconsistencies with motion detection, the overall experience is largely positive, particularly given the inclusion of solar panels for convenient charging. The wide field of view is another frequently cited advantage.

Been up and running for 1 month. They were easy to install. Added SD cards for storage (not included). Using Tapo app to control these cameras as well as several Kasa devices. Sync between these apps is not perfect yet.

Sure it can charge without directly facing the sun, so long as there is enough light. However, its sensors are slow and patchy. If you have a long driveway it will pick up motion far down the street, but not up near the entrance of the driveway. It will pick up random passing by vehicles, but not anything in your driveway, unless its 2 feet in-front of the camera. It may or may not ever pick anything up.
The construction of this thing worries me, there are too may distinct pieces. I've seen videos of people try to rip off door-cams. These can probably be removed in 4 different ways, its so dumb.
Its heavy, you would think it had more than a motion sensor for its size. not counting the infrared, This should have something heat sensing for greater detection accuracy. These are supposed to be out doors, couldn't it have had an outside temp. gauge? I hate to say it but I probably could have found something just as good or better for cheaper on amazon...
Thank you for your review. If you have any concerns about detection, we recommend adjusting the camera's detection settings in the Tapo app. This allows you to fine-tune what you want to detect, in what area, and at what sensitivity levels.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the camera's weight. Since these cameras are battery-operated, much of the device weight comes from their robust, rechargeable batteries and other components.
If you have any questions about your experience with the cameras, our support team is always happy to help. Feel free to reach out using the support portal on our official TP-Link website, and a support agent will gladly assist you.

I like these cameras a lot. This was the second set of three Tapo Outdoor battery-powered wireless security cameras with solar panels that I have bought from Best Buy. Not only are these cameras highly rated by Consumer Reports I got them at a very good price. I highly recommend them.
