Should have a GFI or reset because it's water resistant at best when the plugs are covered and it's not in use. I use it for the pool gazebo lights and it's under cover but still "outside" so driving rain can get it wet(ish)

Weatherproof design so I just leave it plugged in outside to control my non smart lights. Easily automated through the Tapo app. I have it so it turns on 30 min after sunset and turns off 10 min after sunrise. Never have to turn it on or off!

The best thing about it is that I can schedule the time to turn the Christmas lights out door on & off as desire. One minor draw back is that the Tapo app is not very user friendly

Have connected to both plant growing equipment and Christmas lights. Have only failed me once, but was along with multiple other devices so doubt it was fault of the plug. Control almost exclusively with Siri (for better or mostly worse)

When I connect this to the network, it works like a charm, and exactly what it was purchased for. After about a good week of working properly, it suddenly can't find the network, and will not work. On occasion I can reconnect it to the network through the app, but I've also had to go so far as to delete the plug from the app and reinstall it. I probably wouldn't purchase this again if I knew the extra work it causes...it's easier to just go outside to turn on the lights than to fight this thing. You purchase it to make something easier, not cause more headaches.
