So I download the Tapo app and was able to connect the plug. However, I was not able to set up a schedule of on/off times using the app. I could only turn the lamp on, or off. I even contacted tech support, but to no avail. This product is not ready for prime time yet. I ended up returning it to Best Buy.

Since this is a Matter plug the Tapo isn't required. All you need to do is the Matter code that was included in the Google Home app. If that code has already been used then yes the Tapo app would be needed. If needed we do have a Matter Quick Install Guide on our website under the product's support page to help with the installation needs.

Matter doesn't auto reconnect

While remote, the 2 plugs disconnected from the matter network and did not auto-reconnect. Once back, I'll replace with my standard KASA wifi plugs which will auto-reconnect. I would still recommend if you use for local use only.

One was DOA

Of course, Best Buy won’t give you credit for one or let you do a partial return, so now I have to return all three and go through set up again, hoping another doesn’t fail. Customer service wasn’t very friendly, either. No wonder Amazon is taking so much business away from this company.
