Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this so i can hardwire my new Gaming PC. The okays, It did improve speed, but not a lot. I have 600mbps internet plan, but was only getting 8mbps download on wifi on my PC, with this plugged in it got boosted to around 35ish mbps download. So 4-5x faster, but still, 30mbps is awful. I have this installed less than 20 feet away from the main router(main router bottom of stairs, this top of stairs), with no interference, so where is the rest of the speed? The bad, When i lose connection to this router, it takes about an hour to reestablish another connection. I accidently unplugged it before and my PC or phone was not getting any internet at all. I restarted my router, my pc, this router and nothing. Finally just reset this router, and restarted the setup process and it worked again. And the app is awful. Too much hassle, so just going to buy 100 ft ethernet cable instead.

Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind, Wi-Fi extenders utilize half-duplex transmission. As a result, throughput when connecting to the extender may be reduced when compared to the router. This is an industry standard for Wi-Fi extenders and is not exclusive to TP-Link.
In your case, we recommend relocating the unit to a position in your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range.

I WILL KEEP THIS AS IT WAS GOOD VALUE & USE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE

If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

If you are experiencing difficulty connecting the extender to your router, we recommend setting up the device in the same room as your router, then relocating it after setup is complete. We also suggest re-verifying your router's Wi-Fi password during setup, or if using the WPS setup method, ensuring the WPS process is performed in the correct order. The extender's indicator LEDs will help you determine which position in your home is ideal.

The device never worked that well, but after about 3 months it would drop offline and not reconnect unless you unplugged it and plugged it back in. Going back and forth with customer service for 2 months now to get a replacement and they are dragging their feet. I wont use them again
