If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we suggest relocating the unit to a spot in the home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is strong but still far enough away to extend its range effectively. Please check that the RE status LED shows a solid connection.
We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/
For quick and intuitive setup between networks, we highly recommend using the TP-Link Tether app, which lets you configure and manage the Range Extender and other TP-Link networking products from the convenience of your smartphone.

However, it is a bit too heavy and can lean forward and possibly loose electrical connection if you have an old or worn electrical outlet. Once I found a good outlet in a suitable location the device provides good amplification of my fiber optics WiFi signal from upstairs to downstairs.

I do have the fastest wifi that Xfinity offers in my area but it might still not be the best.
