It only tells me when it is available and when it is not. Comcast just stalls and give us little help in resolving the issue of fair to poor signals.

Thank you for your review. If you are experiencing difficulty connecting the extender to your router, we recommend setting up the device in the same room as your router and then relocating it after setup.
We also suggest you re-verify your router's Wi-Fi password during setup or, if using the WPS setup method, make sure the WPS process is performed in the correct order. The extender's indicator LEDs will help you determine which position in your home is ideal.

When it comes to Range Extenders, it's all about placement. They need to be placed between the router and where you want the service to reach to. This area needs to have an open, unobstructed, and have a strong signal. Range Extenders have about the same coverage area as routers do. If an Extender does not meet your coverage needs, i would recommend Mesh
