Good product, but not if you live in an apartment.

Thank you for your review. Apartment complexes are often heavily congested with overlapping Wi-Fi signals. In your case, we recommend ensuring your router's Wi-Fi channels on each supported Wi-Fi band are set to the least congested options. Then, please ensure your Range Extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps in our FAQ here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/
However, if the original concern you attempted to address with the Wi-Fi Extender was congestion or connectivity-related and not range or coverage-related, adding the Wi-Fi Extender may have increased congestion.

Temporary fix until I upgraded the internet USB adapter itself. 300 mbps to 150 ish in best case scenario.

We did a lot of research and this one said it would work. It is awful! Our tv that hangs right above it in the garage still doesn't get a good signal and the moment I walk into the garage even though I am connected to this my cell phone does not work

Please note that metal structures will significantly block Wi-Fi signals, both from routers and repeaters attempting to connect to the router to extend the signal.

Posted .With range extenders, placement is everything. Make sure the extender is placed in an area that is open, unobstructed and has a strong signal from the router. This location should also be between the router and where service extension is needed. If you need assistance, please reach out to support at 866-225-8139.
