As someone who has been involved in the cryptocurrency space for years, I’ve explored various options to safeguard my assets. The Trezor Safe 5 is an outstanding hardware wallet that balances security, ease of use, and advanced features to give users full control over their crypto investments. Why a Hardware Wallet? For those unfamiliar, a hardware wallet like the Trezor Safe 5 allows you to store multiple cryptocurrencies offline. This means you retain full control over your digital assets without relying on a third-party service. With this device, you can securely store Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a wide variety of other coins, all within a single, secure wallet. Key Features of the Trezor Safe 5 •Haptic Feedback & Color Screen: One of the standout features of the Trezor Safe 5 is its seamless integration of both haptic feedback and a vibrant color screen. The haptic feedback ensures that you’re always aware of actions being registered on the device, adding an additional layer of interaction that feels as helpful as the touch screen itself. The color LCD is responsive, making navigation a breeze while offering crystal-clear visuals. It's easy to confirm actions, such as sending or receiving crypto, thanks to the combination of the tactile and visual cues. •Simplicity in Setup: The Trezor Safe 5 truly shines when it comes to ease of setup. Installing the Trezor Suite application and connecting the device to your computer is straightforward. The longest part of the entire setup process is writing down your 20-word recovery seed and PIN. After that, you're ready to go. It's hassle-free, and the device’s intuitive interface ensures that even first-time users will have no trouble getting up and running. •Security First: Like previous Trezor models, the Safe 5 is designed with security in mind. From PIN protection to recovery seed generation, the device offers multiple layers of defense. In the event of a forgotten PIN or compromised device, recovery is straightforward using the backup seed phrase. The inclusion of the TOR network within Trezor’s client also adds another layer of privacy by obscuring transaction details. •Coin Support: The Trezor Safe 5 natively supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, with seamless integration for major assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, DOGE, and many other tokens. The hardware also supports 1800+ coins through third-party applications like Electrum and MetaMask, providing flexibility for users managing diverse portfolios. Design & Build The Trezor Safe 5 refines its predecessors’ design. It feels solid in hand and features a sleek, discreet look. The Gorilla Glass screen adds a premium touch and resists scratches, ensuring durability for long-term use. Trezor has made it simpler and more practical while maintaining an elegant aesthetic, and the use of gestures feels well thought out, enhancing the overall user experience. Final Thoughts If you’re serious about securely storing your cryptocurrencies, the Trezor Safe 5 is a top-tier choice. The combination of haptic feedback, a high-quality screen, and top-notch security features makes this device stand out in the market. Whether you’re a long-time crypto holder or just getting started, the ease of use, combined with its robust security measures, makes the Trezor Safe 5 an essential tool for protecting your digital assets.

One of the advantages of cryptocurrencies apart from serving as a type of currency is that they are a type of investment and so it is important to keep such investment safe. Cold wallets are one of the safest options nowadays. I consider that this Trezor Safe 5 has what it takes to keep my cryptocurrencies safe. In the box comes the Trezor Safe 5 Hardware Wallet and a usb-c to usb-c cable, a couple of recovery seed cards, a quick guide and some stickers. In order to use the crypto wallet it is necessary to install the Trezor Suite application on a pc, then connect the Trezor Safe 5 to the computer and follow the configuration steps. Compared to previous models it is easier to use and configure. The device by not having physical buttons and having a sufficiently large and responsive screen, it becomes more intuitive to use. The type of gestures used to manipulate the device are well thought out, I was really surprised how easy it is to use this device. The Trezor Safe 5 has a similar design to the previous models but more refined, like a little more elegant, I like it. In addition the color is very nice and discreet. The lcd touch screen looks very good in addition to having gorilla glass that prevents it from scratching easily. In general terms, each new model is redesigning its previous design to make it simpler, more practical and easier to use without losing its elegance. Regarding the use, once the configuration is done, which includes a backup, setting a pin, configuring the recovery words and moving the cryptocurrencies to our new wallet, the rest is very simple. To make a transaction, you open the Trezor app, connect the device, enter the pin and then you can start making transactions. What I like is the level of security of these devices. I have had the unpleasant experience of having forgotten the pin to access one of my wallets and despite trying anything, the device complies with the security protocol and in my case it took me a couple of days to recover my wallet with the previous backup. Now I can say that the security on these devices is not a joke. The Trezor Safe 5 is a pretty good looking device. In addition to the compatibility in relation to the different types of cryptocurrencies that can be stored, the protocols and security levels and the technical specifications, I can say that the ease of configuration and use of this device and how intuitive the touch lcd screen is, makes it a great option in the market. I can definitely recommend it.

I was in the market for a new hardware wallet, one that would be easier to use for family members. The Trezor Safe 5 is the answer. The touch screen is really nice to have on a hardware wallet and Trezor does a great job of making sure you have an easy experience. The Hardware The Trezor Safe 5 comes in a small cardboard box with only plastic on the outside for security purposes. Everything you need is in the box: the hardware wallet, USB cable and recovery key backup papers. I like that it comes with a USC-C cable. Though the Trezor Safe 5 is a little bigger than the Trezor Safe 3 (which I also own), I don't mind the larger size than the Trezor Safe 3 as I don't plan to carry the device with me. Setup Trezor makes the setup very easy. All you need to do is install the Trezor suite using the URL they provide in the box, connect it to your device and follow the prompts. I like how they walk you through some initial steps to verify it is genuine. The instructions are very easy to follow. Interface The interface is very intuitive. There is a lot less clicking around vs the hardware wallets with two buttons. The instructions on the device are helpful. You aren't left guessing what to do, swipe up/down or hold. It tells you what you need to do. The haptic feedback is nice to feel the response form the device. I was concerned the number pad would change every time you enter a number for the PIN, but the PIN pad only changes each time you enter a PIN. When testing your seed backup, once your word shows up after typing 3-4 letters, you can select it, then confirm. This is similar to my older two button wallets, but much quicker since you have 9 buttons with the letters on the buttons, similar to a telephone. Conclusion/Final Thoughts The Trezor Safe 5 provides a really nice user experience compared to other Trezor and other vendor products. It was a pleasure to use and very intuitive. I would highly recommend it.

Even in the absence of a connected wallet, I was able to observe my investments through the application. Consequently, I am uncertain regarding its comparative security relative to other investment applications. Although I am familiar with Coinbase, which could suggest lesser security, this wallet and its associated app function as anticipated. I managed to transfer cryptocurrency from my original application to this wallet with considerable ease. The wallet itself is quite adequate, establishing a connection with my smartphone seamlessly, and the app recognizes it without any complications. The primary issue with this product lies within the software. Several anticipated features, such as setup options, remain unimplemented. However, these deficiencies could be remedied with future updates. Trezor Suite does not accommodate alternative derivation paths or manage empty accounts between populated ones. For those seeking a cold wallet to safeguard their cryptocurrency, the Trezor may suffice for the twelve native coins it supports. The issue arises with Trezor’s claim of supporting 'thousands of coins.' In practice, even some prevalent coins are not natively supported, necessitating the use of third-party applications for their storage and management. The Trezor Safe 5 is commendably compact and durable, featuring a user-friendly interface that is easily navigable, even for a novice like myself. The OLED screen is both bright and clear, presenting information at a glance. The buttons are highly responsive, simplifying device operation. As for the wallet, it is devoid of physical buttons, presenting a black finish with a screen on one side and a metallic grain texture on the back. It includes a USB-C slot at the bottom and activates automatically upon connection to a smartphone device. The touchscreen monitor facilitates command acceptance and password input. only a single instance of freezing. The Trezor has quickly emerged as my preferred tool for managing and safeguarding my cryptocurrencies. Valuing security, I appreciate the sophisticated encryption technology that ensures my private keys remain impervious to hackers. The robust PIN system and passphrase protection provide significant peace of mind, safeguarding my assets. Even in the event of device loss, the recovery seed feature guarantees a seamless restoration process.

For me, this would have been beneficial, which is why I'm adding it to the review. But research yourself. From my understanding, cryptocurrency is not stored directly on this device. Instead, it is stored on a "blockchain" (decentralized ledger, tracking every single transaction). When you buy crypto you get keys showing you own a portion of whatever crypto you bought. The wallets themselves store these keys offline allowing them to not be taken unless the wallet itself is compromised. Which is what makes these devices more secure than say online wallets. As if it is offline, then hackers can’t hack it. The first thing that caught my attention was how seriously this company takes security. Starting off when you open the product you are told multiple times that if the void sticker or any part of the box is damaged/appears to be tampered with to not use the product and notify them where you can work together to reach a resolution. Additionally, their code is open source allowing you to read through it (if you have the knowledge) and see there isn’t any fishy taking place. Next, they don’t store anything and make sure to let you know when creating your recovery code to never put this online and keep it in a safe place offline and not share with others. Additionally, I enjoyed that when using the device usually you have your number pad in a set in a particular order (123 at the top). But with this it always mixes it up. Incase someone was looking over your shoulder the numbers are always in a different place. They also advise you to look at the wallet itself when transferring crypto as that is the part that is “protected” from external threats. Meaning your laptop/computer screen could be hacked showing a different routing number. If you lose your wallet they give you a 20 word recovery seed that in the case of your wallet being destroyed/lost you can still have access to your crypto. Supports a ton of different crypto. Easy to transfer. Even for a newbie like me. Was able to transfer all mine within about 30 minutes. Which included setting up the device, buying some new crypto, learning how to transfer from two different other crypto sites, and actually transferring it. Touch screen is bright, very legible, and big enough where putting in your pin/passphrase is easy. Additionally, it has haptic feedback for certain gestures. Overall navigation is easy. Swipe up for multiple things. Hold to confirm (which will give haptic), and of course classic touch for numbers and stuff. Overall build quality appears good. Doesn’t feel made of metal but high-quality plastic and gorilla glass? No concerns on build quality. Is lightweight. Looks great. Small, making it very portable. Overall, this is a simple device, that is easy to navigate, and helps me feel like my crypto is more secure by taking access to it offline and more under my control. While also supporting really any type of crypto you’re interested in.

The Safe 5 represents the latest iteration of Trezor’s iconic crypto wallet, building on the security improvements of the Safe 3 combined with the features of the Model T. From the start, the Safe 5 is packaged well in recyclable materials, with a simple tear strip as part of the tamper proof design. In addition, the Safe 5 itself has a holographic seal over the USB C port to further ensure your Trezor has not been interfaced prior to your custody. Once, you have confirmed your device is tamper free you are ready to connect the Safe 5 to the Trezor Suite on your computer in order to install the firmware, an additional security precaution. Trezor’s open source design and security focus is why I trust my crypto on their wallets, and like the Safe 3, the Safe 5 employs an NDA-free EAL 6+ Secure Element thwarting physical attacks against the wallet. Installing the Trezor Suite software is fairly simple and straightforward, with the device setup streamlined as well. During setup you will be asked to set a pin, as well as the new simplified 20-word backup method which now can conveniently be upgraded to a multi-share backup if desired. Compared to my other Trezor devices, the Safe 5 feels more premium and the interface is the best Trezor has made thus far. Though I would have liked to see slightly smaller bezels and a larger screen, the 1.54” color display is now surrounded by a full gorilla glass front similar to a modern smart phone. This is a great step forward from the recessed touchscreen of the Model T, while also incorporating haptic feedback. The Safe 5 also has an microSD card slot for encrypting the PIN and binding the device to an microSD card, like the older Model T. The Safe 5 supports all the major crypto currencies, with sending and receiving is still conducted on Trezor Suite, while transaction confirmations, PINs, or passphrase entered on the Safe 5 for security. Trezor has improved upon their tried and true hardware wallet, offering a premium crypto wallet that combines all of the great features unique to Trezor while still remaining affordable. If you are looking to upgrade from an older model or if you are just looking for a trustworthy hardware wallet for storing your investments, the Safe 5 is currently one of the best.

***Intro: "What's That?", she asked.*** ***Design and Build:*** The Trezor Safe 5 struts in with a sleek, all-black design and a fancy 1.5-inch full-color touchscreen. It’s a bit larger than its older siblings and doesn't have any buttons. It’s small enough to slip into a pocket or bag, though forget about attaching it to your keyring. Apparently, keyrings aren’t cool. On the bright side, the device is solid, and the haptic feedback gives a pleasant experience. ***Unboxing and Setup:*** Open the box, and you’ll find the Trezor Safe 5, a USB-C cable, and some nifty stickers for backup keys. Setting this up is easy; download the Trezor Suite software, plug it into your computer, and just follow the steps. Pretty easy if you’re migrating from an older model. Connecting it to a smartphone is simple enough, though very limited. The app lets you peek at your balance, but that’s it. No sending or receiving. You’re just window shopping. If you want to actually do something with your crypto, you’ll need to head back to the computer. Not quite the portable experience you’d imagine for something called a “wallet.” The desktop and web apps work fine, although some features feel like they’re still in beta mode. Hopefully Trezor are working hard on the next software update. ***Features and Functionality:*** The touchscreen is smooth, and the haptic feedback lets you know it’s alive and kicking. The wallet supports a decent variety of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. If you’re holding onto some obscure coins, though, be prepared to dive into the world of third-party apps. Trezor claims “thousands of coins” but you’re going to have to jump through hoops for the 5th string coins. A standout security feature is the microSD card slot. It adds an extra layer of protection by linking the device to the card. Now, this is great… unless you’re like me and have a special talent for losing tiny things. One more reason to handle it with care! The recovery seed feature should have your back if things go south, but what happens if the touchscreen goes south? Is there a Plan C? ***Performance and Limitations:*** When it comes to security, this thing is like a fortress: PIN codes, passphrases, microSD encryption—you name it. For casual crypto folks, this level of security might feel a bit like using a vault to store Halloween candy. If you’re already managing your crypto stash on a PC, the Trezor Safe 5 might not make a lot of sense to you. It’s secure, yes, but if you were hoping for a magic gadget that does it all, you might end up using it more like a glorified USB drive. ***Conclusion:*** The Trezor Safe 5 is well-built, has a cool touchscreen, and setting it up is a breeze. The microSD card security feature is a nice bonus, though it might feel like overkill for some casual users. And for more casual users, lack of a phone app to fully access your wallet could be a deal breaker. If you’re hunting for an ultra-secure vault to keep your crypto safe at home, this is a solid investment. If you’re just a casual user who’s already using a PC-based wallet, this might be more of a “nice-to-have” than a “must-have.”

I’m not big into crypto but I do have some. I’ve been worried about keeping all of it on a single online platform, especially after reading about how some have been broken into and others have failed completely. The investors in these platforms lost all their investments. I thought it would be a good idea to store my crypto locally. Hence, I got this Trezor vault. The vault is small and lightweight. From what I can see, it’s basically a highly secure SSD. The package comes with the drive, a USB C cable, a quick start guide, a couple backup key cards and some stickers. The quick start guide basically says (1) check the sticker over the USB port on the drive to make sure it hasn’t been taken off, download the software suite and connect your drive. After installing the software, I connected the drive. It was recognized instantly. The software wanted to verify a few security items. After that, it asked to install the latest firmware. After I did that, the screen on the vault showed a lock image and the software wanted to “check the device” for reliability, security and integrity. This goes very quickly. You need to allow your PC access on the devices screen by swiping up and starting the check by tapping on the screen. After that, the software asks you to run the tutorial. However, it doesn’t tell you the tutorial is on the device and not your PC. I was clicking around the screen trying to launch the tutorial when I finally noticed the screen on the vault changed. The tutorial is also very quick, 5 or 6 screens. Next, the software will create your wallet. It gives you a choice of 2 wallet backup types. The default is automatically selected. I used this. Before you create your wallet, you need to agree to the Trezor Co’s Terms and Conditions by swiping up on the screen. On the small screen is the URL for the ToS. I skimmed the ToS and didn’t see anything alarming. After swiping up, the wallet was created and I was prompted to create a backup. The backup consists of 20 random words that need to be written down in your backup wallet. After writing these words down, it will ask you to confirm 3 of the words and the position they are in. Once that is complete, you create your pin for accessing the vault. An interesting security feature here is the numbers on the screen change locations each time you enter your pin. This way, if anyone is looking to see your finger placement while entering the pin, it is different every time. There is no discernible pattern for someone to observe. After all this, you have set up your Trezor and you are ready to store some Crypto. I opened the app, answered a couple of questions and then tried to access the safe. Unfortunately, it was telling me I entered the wrong PIN #. I tried several times. It wouldn’t work. I looked up resetting the Trezor. The instructions were to plug in and swipe screen at the same time. I tried this, it didn’t work. After a little more research and waiting a few days, I tried the password again and it seemed to work. I was able to see my wallet in the Trezor suite. Following this, I transferred $6 in Bitcoin and $20 of Ethereum to the wallet. This was actually quite easy to do. Click on the coin you want to transfer and on the top right of the screen, there are two buttons, one for sending and one for receiving. Click receive and a page with your 'receive address' appears. Click ‘Show full address’ and the full address appears. There is a QR code that you can scan if you are using your phone to transfer or there is an address that you can copy and paste or type into your exchanges send page. Again, quite simple. However, when I tried it for both Bitcoin and Ethereum, I received an error that stated, “Address Verification Failed: Cancelled”. I thought maybe the transfers didn’t work, but, a few seconds later, the coins appeared in the wallet. A bit confusing but it worked. I tried buying some Dogecoin. I had a few issues with my CC not permitting purchase of crypto so I gave up. The process was simple enough other than that one roadblock. I’ll try again later on my MAC so I can try to use Apple Pay. It did take me to an outside service in a web browser. Purchase transactions are done outside the suite. The software suite is clean and easy to use. I am pretty much a crypto novice. I purchased some coins through a big online exchange a few years ago. I can do the basics but my knowledge is limited. Despite this, I was able to set up this wallet and use it. It’s not that hard but it did give me a few issues. My biggest complaint is the touch screen. It can sometimes take 5 or 6 tries to get my password entered correctly using my finger. Using a touchscreen pen makes it much easier. I also thought it could be used as a standalone product where I could use the screen to see my crypto information without it being plugged in. This is not the case. The safe needs to be plugged into a computer to work. All-in-all, it seems to be a decent product. There were a few bumps setting it up and using it, but it does do the job I expected it to do. I’m going to try a few more things before I trust it with larger amounts of crypto, but I think this will be great as a long-term storage solution for me.

tldr; An upgrade to the Trezor 3, the Trezor Safe 5 lets gives you a full color touch screen, removes physical buttons but the trade off is a slightly larger device. I've owned a few offline crypto wallets, but this is the only time I have used an upgraded model from the same provider - trezor. I own the Trezor 3 and so come to the experience a little more informed. than most. As always, offline wallets offer you better protection and security for your crypto assets. I primarily own BTC and ETH, and occasionally BAT and MATIC. There's two parts to Trezor, your physical Trezor Key (this case the Trezor Safe 5) and the Trezor Suite software. In the box - Trezor 5 - small USB C to USB C cable - stickers, card for backup keys Setup is straight forward. Install the Trezor Suite (free, no registration required), Remove the security seal from the Trezor Safe 5, connect it to your PC or Mac and follow the steps. Make sure you write down the backup keys and store them somewhere safe! It was easy for me to migrate from the Trezor Safe 3 to the Safe 5. Things I like - the 1.5" full color touchscreen looks nicer and if you want to use your Trezor as a secure hardware passkey (Trezor supports U2F) the full color screen is great. The caveat is it's slightly larger (see photo). But the size is a reasonable trade off because virtual buttons are easy to tap (like when you sit your device PIN) The color screen is gorilla glass, so it should be scratch proof like any modern phone. There's no loop to attach the Trezor 5 to your keyring - which is something I still hope Trezor fixes. If you're VERY security conscious the Trezor Safe 5 has a microSD card slot (the Trezor Safe 3 does not). The microSD slot can be used to add another layer of security to the device, binding the ability to unlock and use the Trezor Safe 5 to a microSD card. I have done this, as I have had mixed reliability in non crypto life with microSD cards and they are easy to lose if kept separate. But if you have significant crypto security concerns and want to have an offline wallet that even if stolen would not be usable, good to know the microSD security option. What holds the Trezor 5 from getting a full 5 stars? The size and design means it's not a carry with you anywhere key (the iOS app is also basic). That said, as an offline secure crypto wallet to keep at home - it's a good investment. If you're trying to decide between the Trezor Safe 3 vs Trezor Safe 5, it really comes back to size, screen, and whether you want the extra security the Trezor 5 provides.

To preface the review, I would say I’m a casual crypto user. I bought some a while back and use it from time to time. Up to this point I’ve just used a wallet on my PC which works just fine for my use, but wanted to get a hardware wallet to make it more portal and not needing my PC. The setup of the Trezor Safe 5 was pretty simple. Just download the app and follow the instructions. I mostly use bitcoin, so that’s what I setup, but there are multiple options which is nice. After setup I took the wallet I used and transfer to Trezor which was pretty simple. You have the option use both the windows app or the web app, and both work pretty well with the wallet. With that said, the problem with the Tezor Safe 5 is that it only works on a computer, and not on a phone. You can check the balance on the app but that’s it. I was hoping I could transfer right from there, but it doesn’t let you do that. So for me, the Tezor Safe 5 adds almost no value compared to using a wallet directly on my PC. The advantage would be if you have a problem with you PC and don’t have a back, you would lose your crypto, but the same is try now if I lose the Trezor Safe 5. Its still better to use then a website directly, but I guess for my use I don’t really get the need for a hardware part beyond the ability to put it in a safe. Overall this works fine, but just not something I really find helpful for managing crypto if you already have a PC wallet setup.

I am new to doing anything with cryptocurrency outside of holding it within one of the popular buying platforms. For this reason I was looking for an easy to use Crypto hardware wallet to improve security and flexibility in what platforms I use to buy/sell/trade.  This review is based on a week of use of the Trezor Safe 5 wallet utilizing both the Trezor Suite software as well as an online trading platform to experiment with moving funds around.  In the box is the physical wallet, USB-C cable, blank recovery cards, stickers, and instructions.  Setup is very easy on both desktop and mobile devices, but I'm primarily using this with my Android phone for testing purposes. Once the Trezor app is installed, simply connect the USB-C cable into your phone and follow the on screen prompts. You will also need to fill in your wallet backup (paper with 20 word recovery passphrase) and keep that somewhere very secure in case of loss / theft / damage to your wallet. The wallet build is small and sturdy, so I don't have concerns about throwing it in my pocket, but honestly I'd prefer some type of carry case, or the ability to attach it to a tracker. The touchscreen is sensitive, similar to a mobile phone, and is just over 1.5" wide, 2.5" long, and .25" thick, weighing in at less than an ounce.  The face is Gorilla glass so while you may take some scratches, it's unlikely you will unintentionally shatter the screen. As far as accessibility, you can connect to both your phone or computer via USB-C, and the wallet has a microSD card slot for even more protection than PIN alone by binding a randomly generated token to the PIN, meaning that, unless disabled, you can only unlock the wallet with the SD card and PIN combination. This isn't required, but an additional security feature if you chose to utilize it. To use, you can go to the "My Assets" tab on the app and select which currency you want.  Once you select the currency you want to receive, you'll get an address on both the app and the wallet, once confirmed the two identities match, you can then use this as your receive address. After submitting on the funding source, you can see the transfer occur and your new balance will then show up in the app / wallet. Note you will need to enable a setting so you can view your balance on the app without the Trezor connected.  Things to note on the Trezor, it feels secure, as the PIN keyboard changes numerical layout every time you use it. The wallet uses NDA-free EAL 6+ secure element which means that the internal chip isn't bound by a non-disclosure agreement, and the chip has an Evaluation Assurance Level of 6/7, with the highest possible EAL being a 7.  The receive address doesn't show fully unless confirmed via the app, at which point you will see the address on both the app and the wallet to ensure you're sending to the correct receive location. Overall, the wallet is intuitive, as this was my first hardware wallet, it was easy to learn, understand how to operate, and feel confident in the security that my funds would not end up anywhere other than the wallet. If you're looking to upgrade from online storage, I find the Trezor provides a lot of confidence in the security and integrity of their wallets.

What is it ? As someone who has hoarded small amounts of crypto for years, I am asked "what is ? / why a hardware wallet ?" by friends somewhat often. Here it is in a nutshell - A hardware wallet lets you offline store a recoverable crypto wallet for multiple coins whereas you or anyone you choose has the ability to manage that wallet. The Trezor safe 5's job is to add a physical device with encryption and a signature that can be "air gapped" i.e. not connected when not in use. That sounds great but really - why would I use it or want one ? 1. Convenience of storing multiple coins in a single wallet - Bitcoin, ETH, etc. . . . all in one place 2. Additional Security of a physical signing device to unlock wallets 3. Anonymity - TOR network obscurification built into client 4. No brokerage involved - it's a wallet. These devices are inexpensive and Trezor has a great track record of support. I own an original trezor wallet and was able to recover a wallet to this device in just a few steps ! Coin support - Native support for Thirteen coins with over 1800 supported in Trezor Suite Native Support as stated by the manufacturer - Trezor Suite natively supports 16 cryptocurrencies for the Trezor Model T, 13 for the Trezor Model One, 11 for the Trezor Safe 3, alongside all ERC20 tokens (all Trezor models) and all SPL tokens (Model T and Safe 3). Other cryptocurrencies are supported by Trezor hardware wallets, but must be managed using a third-party wallet such as Electrum or MetaMask. These cryptocurrencies are referred to here as non-native assets. Using the wallet software - The desktop and web managed versions of the software have a simple and easy to follow layout. I had no issue retrieving my wallet addresses to send to or with sending from the Trezor wallet. I was able to walk through a setup, backup and recovery in a few minutes per operation. I would recommend to anyone setting one of these up - go through all of the steps prior to depositing larger amounts of crypto from another wallet or from a brokerage. What I love: Human Controllable Air Gapped Device Easy recovery - save your words ! Room for improvement: More coin support would be nice however it supports all of the coins I hold long term.

This is a fantastic cold wallet, package came in fully sealed and setting it up was rather easy. Please do make sure that it fits your needs, for example this wallet cannot directly hold XLM, but it can hold it through a third party wallet set up, meaning that you can set up the Stellar wallet and use the trezor to esentially lock it so that you can access this once you have the trezor connected. Also note that Trezor Suite is view only on phones, and this is meant for PC connection as of now, im sure they will do some update at some point. And lastly, do note that while Trezor has a partnership with Exodus wallet, the Trezor 5 is NOT compatible with the wallet, however there are plans to add this at some point.

Review of Trezor Safe 5 The crypto hardware wallet from Trezor at glance looks minimalistic, slim, very light on hand. All black with screens size of 1.54” Touchscreen, sufficient enough to control crypto and have in the pocket. The package comes with USB-C to USB-C cable, manual and the wallet itself. Once opened, it depends on the mobile app Trezor Suite Lite to store the key. By default, the application shows the option to add: 1. Bitcoin (BTC), 2. Ethereum (ETH) 3. Litecoin (LTC) 4. Ethereum Classic (ETC) 5. Cardano (ADA) 6. XRP (XR) 7. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) 8.Dodgecoin (DOGE 9.Zcash (ZEC) Upon selection of the coin, from the mobile ask to scan public key (XPUB) or enter it manually. Afterward, in the detail screen can see the account type, path and the key is hidden and only available to see after additional action. Once setup everything in place, it allow to sync between the hardware and the mobile app to track, receive or send. Having setup only for partition of coin, regardless of the balance it still provides easy access to it quite easy way. From all the feature, what I find very helpful that it is possible to recover if it lost. With recovery seed can restore the wallet. Hopefully this is never come to real case, but help to know there is alternative. In overall, it was simple to setup and use and still feel safer assuming I don’t loose it or don’t forget the pass.

When I first got my hands on the Trezor Safe 5 Crypto Hardware Wallet, I was eager to see how it stacked up against the competition in terms of ease of use, security, and overall experience. As someone who's reviewed a fair share of tech, especially in the realm of cryptocurrency, the unboxing experience is always a key first impression for me. Unboxing and Setup The packaging of the Trezor Safe 5 is minimalist yet professional. It comes in a compact box, with tamper-evident seals, which adds a nice touch of security right from the get-go. Inside, the wallet itself has a clean, matte finish and feels solid without being too heavy, fitting comfortably in my hand. It comes with a USB cable, instruction manual, and recovery seed cards. Setting up the device was straightforward. The process is initiated through the Trezor Suite app, which guides you step-by-step. The app interface is clean, making it easy to understand even for those who may be new to hardware wallets. You generate a recovery seed during setup—an essential security step for recovering your assets should you lose the wallet. Writing down the seed is emphasized, and I appreciated the reminders to store it securely. Security Features As a hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 5 lives up to its promise of being highly secure. The PIN protection and physical confirmation for transactions add layers of security that you just don’t get with software wallets. Plus, the wallet is fully open-source, meaning anyone can audit the code for vulnerabilities—a significant confidence booster for security-conscious users like myself. One feature I found particularly reassuring was the option to set up a passphrase in addition to the PIN, providing an extra level of encryption for more sensitive assets. Another highlight is its integration with a range of cryptocurrencies, allowing you to store and manage not only Bitcoin but also Ethereum, Litecoin, and a host of other altcoins. The Trezor Suite app also supports a range of third-party applications, which extends the wallet’s functionality into realms like decentralized finance (DeFi). Everyday Use In daily use, the Trezor Safe 5 performs reliably. The device’s OLED screen, while small, is clear and bright enough to easily confirm transaction details before signing them. It’s powered via USB, so it doesn’t require charging, and it’s small enough to easily fit into a pocket or bag. I appreciated how quickly it connects to the app when plugged into my computer, and the transaction confirmation process is quick and smooth. For beginners, the Trezor Suite app makes managing crypto fairly intuitive, though more advanced users will also appreciate the additional security features. It integrates seamlessly with services like Binance and MetaMask, which is a huge plus for those who interact with exchanges frequently. Conclusion Overall, the Trezor Safe 5 Crypto Hardware Wallet is a solid choice for anyone looking to store their digital assets securely. It balances ease of use with advanced security features, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced crypto users. The setup is smooth, the device feels premium, and its open-source nature adds to its appeal for those who prioritize transparency in their security tools. For anyone serious about protecting their crypto assets, the Trezor Safe 5 is a wallet worth considering.
