    An ingenious way to exercise

I enjoy staying fit and working out, but as I’ve gotten older, it can be a challenge finding time to keep up with my fitness goals. I’ve always been a pretty traditional guy when it comes to working out, preferring free weights over most everything else, but this just isn’t practical for me anymore. I’m a fan of the old Soloflex, but even that requires a dedicated space in a room where you can go for a workout. Given all that, I was curious to know whether the TRX Fit system could provide a good alternative workout. The first thing you notice when you open the box is that it all fits into a pretty small bag that’s inside the box. It’s obvious that this thing is meant to go with you, so if you do a lot of traveling, you’ll appreciate being able to stick to your fitness regimen no matter where you go. The system is basically just two straps, each with foam handles and foot straps at the bottom of each strap, connected at a single point where it connects to an anchor. You can anchor it to the ceiling (assuming you have an unfinished ceiling available) or to any door that will close and latch. It uses a pretty ingenious system to anchor to the door, and I found this to be plenty strong for my 190 pounds. Once anchored to the door, you simply adjust the strap length and you’re ready to go! You can do a number of different exercises aimed at core strength, flexibility, or upper body. The biggest thing you’ll notice about this system is that it relies heavily on your balance. That makes each exercise much harder as you have to balance yourself in addition to whatever the exercise itself is calling on you to do. To be honest, I found some of the exercises to be a little forced in the way they made you move. Bicep and pectoral exercises (curls and bench press) were perhaps the most awkward and didn’t feel close to those same exercises on other equipment. Trying to work your pectoral muscles is pretty awkward when anchored to a door. I suspect that this exercise especially could benefit from being anchored to the ceiling overhead. TRX offers a few free videos to get you started, and these are indeed helpful. It’s good to see someone else setting up and using the system. You can, in fact, get a pretty good workout, and you’ll definitely work up a sweat. Perhaps I’ll change my mind as I use it more, but I couldn’t help but wonder if this way of working out is truly better than more traditional approaches. The good thing is that it goes wherever you go and sets up in minutes. If you decide to buy one of these, make sure you also pick up a foam exercise mat. You’ll definitely need it for exercises when your elbow is on the floor. I liked the TRX Fit System, but if you’re already a disciplined individual, you might be able to find other ways to perform these exercises. For an overall fitness improvement tool, this one is lightweight and very easy to use. Since it comes at a decent price, it might be worth checking it out.

Nice trainer, but not for beginners

First off, I initially thought that this was a resistance band system. Its not. This is suspension system that attaches to a door frame or another anchor that allows you to create resistance with your body weight by essentially hanging off the trainer at different angles. The trainer itself is lightweight and comes with a mesh bag that allows for it to store away easily and travel pretty conveniently. I haven't taken it on a business trip yet, but I at least can consider it, when I would never take a set of dumb bells. The product is also very well built and sturdy. At home, the exercises were a nice change of pace from what I had been doing before. It also gives a few more options than my previous (admittedly simple) home gym setup. It really makes it easy to change angles with push-ups and other exercises to get a bigger range of motion and work your muscles in different ways. Also, in comparison to my dumbbell set, its a bit cheaper to get something that can help you work out your whole body. Moving on to a few cons: to get the body-weight to pull right and create resistance, some of the moves were a little awkward. Also a number of movements required a bit of flexibility or strength beyond what a beginner or someone really out of shape could manage. For someone who is a little more in shape it shouldn't be a problem. While it can attach to pretty much any door, you really need a door in the middle of a flush wall for this to work right. I initially tried to use it in the room i have my other equipment in, but the door opens into a small "hallway" made by the room wall and the closet for the room and that made it so I didn't have enough space to do the workouts. It also needs a door that swings with a real knob. I couldn't use my closet door because it just swings open and so can't hold the trainer in place. The mesh bag also could be a bit bigger since it fits really well when rolled up nicely, but if I'm putting it in quickly it always seems to be a bit of a tight fit. Also, when you sign up for the included free training, the serial number on your device is different than on the box. For some reason there are multiple serial numbers in the box, but the one they care about is on a tag on the trainer itself. Overall, this is a very lightweight system that can be set up in most homes, apartments, hotels or other locations. It offers exercises for a full body workout and for those that may be sick of the same movements over and over again, it offers a refreshing change of pace. Because some of the exercises really require you to be in some level of fitness, it limits who I would recommend this product to. In fact, if someone who isn't in very good shape tries this I could see how they could hurt themselves, I took off one star for that reason. Its still a great product, but its just not for everyone.

I workout about 5 times a week. I use almost every machine, free weights, squat rack, bench press, and cable system. I never really tried the suspension stuff that was there. Then I realized that the TRX Suspension Trainer is the EXACT thing that was at my local gym! Once I got the TRX System at home, I really did not need to read the setup instructions. It is very straight forward. It has a piece that attaches to any door at your home, office, hotel room...Also has another piece that will wrap around trees, posts, handle bars, etc...You can literally use this thing anywhere you are. So I believe I will be taking mine on any trip i go on just to be sure I have no excuses when I can workout! The videos that are included for free are also great, as they give you step by step setup instructions, and will show you exercises if you dont know where to start. This system is definitely something anyone who works out should have in their gym bag!

I've been looking for some sort of travel workout system that I could use in my hotel room when I'm on business. This fit the bill for exactly what I was looking for to do different exercises that workout my arms, my chest, my back, as well as my legs. The system comes with everything you need to be able to do a variety of exercises. Comes with a convenient carry bag that holds the device and the handles and all the different straps that are needed to work out while traveling. It also has a very intuitive poster that shows and illustrates various workouts you can do to work out all different groups of muscles in your body. So far after using this for the past few weeks while traveling I'm very happy with it. It allows me to workout muscles and I feel a burn similar to when I'm working out at home. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who travels a lot and doesn't feel like trying to use a hotel gym or locate a gym nearby and would like to just get in a quick workout in their hotel room. I can also see the benefits of using this while not traveling when you want to work out at home as well to offer a variety of exercises. It's easy to set up and use with any door just follow the instructions that are included with it. My only concern at this point is how long the anchor strap will last using it between the door with the amount of weight and force that I'm putting on it when working out. Other than that the rest of the straps in the device feel really solid.

    Easy Storage Suspension Trainer

The TRX Fit is a suspension trainer set that fits in a very small space when idle. The idea that it's meant to travel easily means it can be stashed in a suitcase or duffel bag. It comes packed in a small box and is meant to be put away in a small fabric case when not being used. Despite the Fit being basically assembled from straps, nothing stretches but you. The Fit utilizes various positions and body motion to put gravity and your body weight to work. The above-head mount is simply a big tab and strap that wedges on the top inside edge of a door, and held in place by the closed door. It obviously should be a strong door, with the tab on the inside near the hinge side of the door. TRX has other more permanent mounts available for anchoring the top strap. Included is a poster illustrating many suggested exersizes and also a download code for instruction videos. The key is using the Fit in a place where you have space to be able to raise and lower your body for all the routines while choosing a door strong enough to hold your full body weight when it is "suspended" through the Fit. I had to experiment till I found the perfect spot where I wasn't coming into contact with walls or furniture. The exercises are easy and fun, and provides a way to work out the way you want when you aren't able to hit the gym or use heavier weights or equipment. I find the upper-body routines work well for limbering up shoulders and arms.

This product was ok. I like the fact that it has a door anchor in case you have no other place to put it. The straps are pretty sturdy and I was able to perform the exercises with no problem. There’s a lot of workouts you can do with this. Super easy to use and set up.

The TRX Fit System is a suspension trainer that consists of a series of straps, TRX door anchor, TRX suspension anchor, Key card (2 digital workouts), Workout poster and a Mesh carry bag. You can set it up anywhere you have a door, beam hook or pole to attach it to. The whole system weighs about 2 lbs and can easily be packed in your backpack, suitcase or duffle bag. The system was designed by a Navy Seal to keep himself in shape. I took some time using this system, you can build some general strength with it but it does require some basic coordination and level of fitness. This system is really best used by individuals who work out but need something while they travel without having to find a gym. I definitely built some upper body strength with this system, it was not as easy as using gym equipment but is great when you dont have access to a gym. The setup is easy and anyone can do the basic exercises. The more intense exersises take some practice and intrinsic strength. The straps are well designed and will support body weight up to 350 lbs per TRX. If you are a gym rat on the go this is a great travel accessory.

I wasn't sure what to expect with setting up something like this on a door. However, I was surprised at how easy it is. All you have to do is open the door, lay the strap over the top near the hinge so that it is as long as you need, and close the door. Done. I'm looking forward to using this over the next few months to see any changes that may occur. I'm a big fan of body-weight exercises, so this should be an excellent product to use.

I was so excited when I got this TRX Fit System - it was everything I had wanted. It comes with the 2 sturdy TRX suspension bands, a door anchor, mesh bag for carrying it, a workout diagram and an activation code for mylocker.com, that has a handful of workouts. It may not seem like a lot, but it is everything you would need for an awesome workout. Not being new to TRX, I was familiar with the format and how difficult workouts can be; the bands can be a bit cumbersome to get adjusted properly and comfortably to someone who is not familiar with the format. The door anchor works well, but is not my cup of tea for the workouts I prefer, but it does work and is effective at supporting my weight. The bands are also well made and there was no fear of them not supporting me. Overall, this is an awesome addition to any home gym or anyone that is looking to take their workouts on the road with them.

I wanted to like this product. The idea of getting a good workout at home without going to the gym in bad weather appeals to me, but it's a letdown. It's not for fat people, beginners or people who aren't already in decent shape. I'm 5'9 255#, so I fall into the overweight category and have a plus sized dad bod. Setup is not intuitive and the instructions are less than worthless. Thank goodness for setup videos. If you don;t have good balance/coordination, stay away. Even with practice, this felt hinkey. A minor slip caused a strained arm/pulled muscle. There's a reason they only show fairly skinny/fit people using it. Not worth the asking price at all Would not recommend at all. The plus side is that the straps do seem pretty sturdy.
