Didn't last 2 weeks. Had static, audio always going in/out and constantly disconnecting. Plus very uncomfortable. All from my 12 year old who is into games.

The wireless drops out every 5-10 min. The bass is anemic and overpriced! Get yourself a Afterglow AG9+ wireless headset, It works as advertised & cheaper.

Wireless is the way to go

The best feature of this headset is the fact that I can be conveniently un-tethered. Additionally, the battery life is great. The headset has wonderful power management as the device turns off after a period of inactivity. Sound quality is great too. Games sound immersive and conversations are crisp and clear. The one thing that I struggle with is the fact that the headset is a little tight for my head and after a while it starts to hurt. I'm hoping that with continued use it might stretch a bit and feel better. I also wish that the mute button was a bit more pronounced. I often find myself struggling to find it when I need to use it.

After a short period of time there began to be a lot of problems with the headset. I don't recommend buying this one.

I have used turtle beach headsets since xbox 360 and have enjoyed them ever since. I have always used the wired sets and finally decided to try a wireless set when it was discounted. I see the reasons why it is great to have wireless; so you don't have to worry about getting unplugged when moving around the room or going to the restroom. The sound quality is good for the price. I do see why more competitive gamers would desire an Astro but unless you are into competitive gaming I don't see the value of paying such a premium price when this Turtle beach head set will do.

*Make sure you get the 420x+. The plus at the end is the latest model with superhuman technology. I picked this headset up in store after researching many different models. I came to this one because 1) It is completely wireless, even to the controller. Just plug usb in back on xbox, turn on and your set to go. 2) High Quality Audio, with new superhuman hearing. 3) Comfort, you can have these on for hours without noticing. 4) You can detach the mic if you are playing campaign, or just don't feel like talking. This gaming headset really does enhance a gamer's experience. Before this my sound just went through my bad vizio tv speakers, and after I bought these, I heard twice as much as I did before. It makes games for me more fun and interesting. I will never play online or xbox through my tv speakers again!! A little pricey, but the next step up is twice the price $299.99, and only advantage is surround sound.

Great setup if not too demanding of sound

I'm no pro at picking audio, and least of all for wireless headphones. This was a good deal when it was on sale (I thought a bit pricey for a newbie like me when it was normal price). Good sound, I feel ok about hearing voices and general gaming-range sounds and general movies. They do have a boost called "Ultrahuman Sound" or something, I think it bumps up the extreme ends of sounds, supposedly to hear twigs of grass bending or a bus rolling by blocks away if you're in a game and you wanna hear everything. It does use a dongle, and for an XBO S there aren't too many easily-accessed USB ports for it. I do find that the dongle sometimes bugs out; I have had to unplug the dongle maybe every other month once or twice to get it to reset and reconnect the headphones. The range is ok but not great. If I want to use my XBO for music and I'm walking around my apartment (NYC apts, not very big, folks), I find that more than 20 feet away and it'll start to crackle in the ears and then just cut out. Appearance is fine, though not flashy or slick. it can be a bit uncomfortable for long wearing (by end of a movie your ears might hurt, especially if you wear glasses). I am concerned that the plastic pivots for each ear might break, but that hasn't happened yet.

This headset is great. Simply plugged in the wireless adapter USB stick, and it automatically synced.I thought the voice in the headset that tells you what mode you are in and if the battery is low was a nice touch. Definitely worth the money. Very comfortable.

Please read before buying!!!!!!!!!!! Experience: My experience with TB has been unsatisfactory, I wont say that it's terrible but it has been subpar. In august I purchased the Stealth 420x, and I had serious trouble with the mic, the mic monitoring was terrible. I literally had to bring the mic to my lips in order to get any feedback. Obviously, this is an issue because the people on the other end experienced explosive sounds from words like POP or park. Therefore, I returned them and I decided to wait for the 420x+. Finally, I got a pair of 420x+ the first few days were great but eventually the drivers began to make a popping sounds every time I paused a song, played a song, skipped a song, basically anytime the sound was muted or unmuted when using the 3.5mm plug. I contacted Turtle Beach and they asked me to return them, so I did and got a second pair of 420x+, not too long after the new pair began to have the same distortion. You can also hear static when charging your cellphone, which shouldn't happen either. Since the headphones are designed to pair with a usb transmitter, the light on the side of the headphones constantly flashes a light when you are way from the transmitter, meaning that when listening to music on your phone you’ll be lighting up the place. Game sound: The game sound is great and so is the sound coming from a phone, computer, ipod, etc. The only issue is that terrible popping sound coming from the drivers that I talked about earlier. Also there is a ton of sound leakage, meaning people around you will be able to hear your music or game sound. The frequency response is decent. Features: The Superhuman hearing actually works, the EQ Presets are great, but these presets only work on the sound coming from the USB transmitter. Also, the 420x+ aren't fully wireless, you cant connect to other devices via Bluetooth, so they provide that aux cable, which is what I had issues with. The built in voice prompts are extremely useful. The individual chat and game sound controls on the headset are also well placed. Comfort They are comfortable and don’t heat up too much, after 2-3 hours of use your ears will get warm but it isn’t uncomfortable. Design/Build: The build feels cheap since its mostly made out of hard plastic. The design is nice and they don’t look like a gaming headset, therefore, you don’t stick out like a sore thumb. Overall: If you plan on strictly using the 420x+ as a gaming headset, go for it. If you’re planning on using the headset to its advertised capabilities, I’d say to look at a different headset, it will save you trips to best buy. This is the third TB headset that I am returning.

I just got them this week and the mute button doesn't work. It says mic off when I press it, however everyone can still hear me talking. There's nothing in the instructions about the mute button. When I went to the Turtle Beach website and tried to contact customer support. It kept saying to enter a valid email address. Yet I entered my address over and over. Seems to me they don't want to be contacted. So I took them back. Stay away from Turtle Beach.
