Honestly, not very impressed with the headset. It doesn’t sound very good, and the super amp and app is actually quite a hassle.

When you first hear "wired" headphone you think..."oh this is going to plug into my controller". Unfortunately, my only real con on this is around the giant tether. The usb cord has to plug into the console rather than the port on the controller. And this is so they can put all the electronics for surround and audio effects in there. While this is a neat feature to have...the puck is unwieldy and the tether is rather annoying considering we live in a day and age of wireless everything. All that being said, the headphones are really comfortable and carry a great sound! It would have been nice to get a different set of ear cups with it for those that prefer the fabric option. But I personally don't mind the leather inserts. The sound is quite good. The highs are clean and the lows are just bassy enough not to cause too much terrible distortion. Others say the mic quality is good and they can hear me just fine. One nice addition though would be a gain toggle for the mic on that puck...if we're stuck with the puck, may as well make it more useful. The build quality is really high! I question the reason behind the little plastic side pieces...they come off really easy. I'm to assume that there's going to be some sort of aftermarket clip on flair that replaces these pieces. Otherwise the fit is nice, and they feel very sturdy and capable of handling abuse. And they look pretty cool with that stormtrooper armor white color. I'd recommend them if you don't mind the tether and can get them on sale.

Great Sounding Headphones With Disappointing Mixer

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 headphones sound great there is no denying that, but the soundmixer to me does not do what I want to justify getting this over just the headphones. Let me start off with some positives about the soundmixer before I get into the negatives. The ease of use to connect it to the Xbox or pc and get it running is extremely easy. It literally is one cable From headset to mixer and from mixer to Xbox/pc and that’s it in terms of connections. The lights on the mixer are very easy to understand you have a ring around the logo which shows your volume and the turtle beach logo is either green showing your mic is on or red when it is off or muted. So the ease of use on it is very easy to just plug and play. Now where you want to get into some more of the advanced features that’s where I think the mixer falters. Let me start with biggest thing using the mixer the volume does not get very loud. Does it get loud enough to sound well yes for the most part but it’s max volume is still pretty low, and this is after turtle beach released an update to fix this a bit and it did help but it is still kind of low. The next issue I have is to control anything more than just straight volume or switch the mixer so it runs on pc you have to use their app on your phone. Now while there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the app I just don’t think it’s very good. It happen trouble connecting my phone to the mixer a couple of times and the UI on it is not great. You get more control of you chat and game mix which I would have rather had physically on the mixer. It was actually kind of pain to have to grab my phone load the app wait for it to connect then adjust the chat mix. After a while I decided I would try connecting the headphones directly into my Xbox controller and see what kind of audio difference there would be. To my surprise it sounded the same and I realized the surround sound was coming from the Xbox and not from the mixer so it sounded the same and the volume range was actually better off the controller. Now it is a bit of pain to have to jump to a menu on your Xbox to control the audio but it was less items I had to use than my phone and the mixer. I think the headphones sound great and in theory the mixer should be awesome but I think some curious design make me say skip this package and get just the straight headphones

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 is a great sounding headset. It is easy to set up and is very comfortable. The ear cups are very soft and I had no issues with any ear pain/pressure points. The super amp is basically just a volume dial. It would have been nice to have some additional functionality on the audio controller. The app works fine so far. I use the one on my phone to fine tune the sound but had to plug it in to my computer to update firmware. Overall, the quality and sound are great. I have had a good experience with this headset so far. If you play on XBOX definitely pick these up.

We have come to trust Turtle Beach for quality and durability having already purchased one pair of their headphones. The Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset have so far been great for our boys and their gaming needs. My ten years old son's other headset in another brand stopped working so he needed a replacement. Turtle Beach to the rescue. He says the headset is comfortable and has amazing sound quality. He does not use the microphone, but did try it to see how it worked and he said it was great. He mainly uses it for Xbox gaming, but did take them on a recent car trip to use with his iPod and they worked great. They are on the big side, but most gaming headsets are. The side panels come off, but we are not really sure why. Might be an aesthetic or there might be a purpose we just haven't discovered yet. I wasn't sure about the white color at first, since all the others we have are black, but I have found the white makes them easily found in their bedroom. The color really pops. Overall, we are very happy with the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset.

Great sounding headset, smartphone app is buggy

My review of the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset comes from the standpoint of someone who has never had a gaming headset before. Previous experience was just the basic chat headset provided with the Xbox One, or any set of headphones I plugged into the controller. From a sound standpoint, I was pretty blown away by this headset. However, regarding other features, I was not sure whether I was working the product correctly or not. This is what I experienced: you put this substantial headset on your head and each muff covers your ears and blocks out much surrounding noise. There is a long USB cable to connect to the Xbox One, and inline with the cable is a round audio controller device. You can use the audio controller to increase and decrease the volume. That volume control part definitely works well enough. You control the features of the headset with a smartphone app, which I tested using the Android version. The inline audio control has a customizable LED light that shines higher in relation to increasing audio, or you can turn off the light (in stealth mode). Supposedly this light can be changed to other colors using the Turtle Beach smartphone app, which I tested using an Android phone. I wasn’t able to get the colors to change. I could make the light change, so that it reacted to volume and pulsed based on noise, or I could turn it off completely. There are other features in the smartphone app to adjust the mix of volume for audio, and for mic, for adjusting colors, etc. In using the app, I wasn’t impressed as it seemed like the software wasn’t having an immediate impact. Also, I’m not a big chatter so as long as it functions at all, I’m happy enough. From my experience, the sound was amazing. I used the headset on several games, and the sound was great. However, I really worked out the audio by playing several movies through my Xbox One. Captain America Winter Soldier, Top Gun, and Star Trek Discovery all sounded awesome! Plus, I didn’t have to worry about disturbing my family with loud movie music. Generally, I would give the headset a 4 out of 5, due to the clunkiness of the smartphone app. For the price, all the stuff should work well. But the headset definitely sounds great.

The comfort of these headphones is outstanding but... Only four stars because the controls are awkward and changes require a lot of effort on your part via other devices. But the volume is way off, you have to be above 75% to begin to hear any low sounds like footsteps and so on. The sound when set high enough is fantastic but I feel something is off. I sent out some inquiries to the vendor and awaiting replies.

The headset was boxed well with foam cutouts, nice and snug with no movement. It was very simple to set up, taking less than 5 minutes from un-boxing to use. It did come with a small reference guide to assist set up, but this headset is so simple that I didn't need it, but kept it just in case. There were two cables in the box, one if for power to the amp, the other was an aux cable. It has a nice option to either use the amp or just run the headset right to the controller. The sound quality was amazingly crisp and clear. I've found that wired headsets pack a much better sound quality than bluetooth versions so I was very happy with this. The headset itself has a rugged, sturdy feel to it, but is extremely comfortable to wear. This headset also has the ability for sound customization through the turtle beach app that you connect with through your phone. It still sounds great without customization but is helpful when playing different genres of games.

Immediate 'Upgrade' to my Gaming Audio Experience

The Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset is definitely a step above the average gaming headset. First of all, the sound quality is excellent. I hear more detail and get a clearer sense of spatial placement as well as just good overall sound. As others have mentioned, I do wish I could get a bit more volume out of them using the SuperAmp control. On the other hand, the 'Superhuman Hearing' feature (on the app) is a great addition for hearing more of what's virtually 'around' you. Secondly, these are the most comfortable gaming headphones I've yet worn. They do not get tiring. Since I wear glasses, the ability to adjust the built-in channels for them (on the pads) is a big plus. It also helps that they've included a generous length of cabling. Bottom-line, the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset produced an immediate improvement and 'upgrade' to my gaming audio experience.

These headphones work great and easy to setup. Just plug in and go. Sound quality is great and work well w/ Xbox gaming as well as a fill in for general headphone use for tablet movie watching (no mic needed). This set was ready to go out of the box only required plugging into the Xbox wireless remote. I have not had a chance to test out the modifications available yet, only the normal usage. Great set though, my son enjoys them.

I replaced an aging set of gaming headphones that had lived past their prime with the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2's and all I can say is WOW what a difference. The first thing I found was how comfortable they were to wear, even during extended sessions. I wear glasses and the ear cups have a mechanism to adjust them to relieve the pressure points associated with normal over-the-ear headphones. That alone is worth the cost of admission for me. The sound quality is phenomenal and the volume these things can produce seem like the could make your ears bleed! Adjusting the volume just takes a simple turn of the ring on the amp. Super convenient and fast. They headphones have Bluetooth connectivity and "accent lighting" although I haven't messed with that side of them at this point as that's honestly not something that really turns my crank.

I am not gonna lie, I've been using my Tritton COD headphones forever and have refused to upgrade due to the investment and how well they fit. So jumping to these was a big leap. The Tritton's were great for their time but these are amazing. They fell so solid and well built out of the box. Fit, finish and feel is great. Full HD sound that intensifies the game and gives you full advantage to hear the foot steps and gun fire. I have a huge noggin and have a hard time finding things that fit well but these were great. My favorite feature is no more wires connected to the controller. Overall I am impressed with everything this headset provides. I'm sure they will stand the test of time and allow for tons of hours of use.

my review for the turtle beach elite pro 2 and amp

my review for the turtle beach elite pro 2 and amp. the headset is basically worth 100$. i play on a pc so i am not sure how it is with console as much. i did try it out as my kids use a xbox 1. my biggest complaint about these so far though and why i am giving a 4 star. they rely on a phone app to set up. they have a program for pc that for some reason is basic and does not let you do as much as the phone app. the other issue with the phone app is that it does not want to connect. the amp will easily connect to my bluetooth but when i open the app it wont connect to the app itself. i have to sit and play with it deleting the app, reinstalling it, forgetting the amp and re pairing it etc. and eventually it will connect. i would not mind it to much if i could at least do everything thru the pc program and not worry about the app itself, i would be happy at least with that. but it does not. outside of that, the headset it pretty nice. without the amp its slightly louder then my senheisser pc 360, and with both plugged into the amp same. so for a 100$ headset (amp is 150$, and the set is 250$) the headset is pretty good for sound. the mic is not great but not bad either. decent mic for a headset. the amp on the other hand. well it does help out a lot. but is it worth the 150$ extra? i like it and if the app worked great and you could use the program on the pc just like the app then maybe. i dont like that you are limited to a app on a phone. let alone an app that only has a 2 star rating. because its so basic without having the app as all you can do is pretty much turn the volume up and down with it which is something most keyboards have already that i dont find it worth the 150$ tag. if they had a better app that actually worked great then sure. i like that i get a sound boost from it. the app and the pc software are things they can work on and improve. if they do that, then i would say at least its worth it then. on a good note with the amp. being it does connect via bluetooth, you can then listen to your phone thru the amp and with the headset. so if you like your own music while gaming you can play it and listen to that as well as the game. so i do like that option with this. i like the color and i like the comfort. they feel well built to me. and overall i think its a great headset and the price is not so bad. i have had headsets that cost the same (100$ range) and these overall sound better. the mic can be a bit better quality but its not to bad. the amp portion can be worked on a bit with its apps and programs like i said. i also do streams now and then and with usb devices, they pick up as there own sound card so hard to stream without having to use other software. with these they have a output on them that does both the mic and the game sound. and with the programs (this is something both pc software and phone app can do) you can adjust the volume seperately. so if your stream hears the game louder you can turn that down and have mic up. or vise versa. or if you have a seperate mic you can turn the mic off thru the stream etc. you can plug in any headset with this. so that is nice. the mic for it can unplug and can get another mic plugged in. i personally would love to see a mic that can lift up and mute that way. i do not like the mute button on the cord myself. a few things for me on that. i game on a pc and use a desk. the mic button on the cord has no clip so it hangs. it hangs at just the right spot that if i am pressed against my desk i catch it all the time between me and desk. also if want to mute you have to find it then and being that is hangs and as you move it moves can be tricky. just i prefer mute on the headset or personally i prefer a mic that can lift up and mute that way. not only is that easy, it also allows to move the mic out of the way if eating. the ear pieces also easily come off and hopefully in the future will see a way to get custom pieces. right now they offer a couple. so overall, these are great sounding and i do recommend them and right now they are my go to choice to use. i have a nicer headset that is wireless that is a little louder but also harder to stream with as i have to use software and for some reason that causes my computer to crash. but that headset also cost a little more. i am pleased so far with these and just if they can get the app to work better, as well as update the pc software so that i can do everything the app does like create custom sound settings, or change the color, etc then it would be a 5 star from me. but because of that, i give it 4 star. if the app was something just extra to have then i would not care as much. but being this relies on it, it matters a lot.

Love this headset!! I replaced my previous high quality headset with this one because I can just hear alot more! Never was a fam of turtle beach because of my small ears it always felt uncomfortable on my head, but these fit very well. Once I figured out the app and sound settings I found a perfect balance and can hear almost everything in my fpp games! Directional sound is key in these games and I have to say I can hear exactly where the apponets are!

The overall sound was very good, the comfort is great for prolonged use and not much ear fatigue The quality of the build seems very good as well, they seem like they will definitely last a long time. The drawback came in managing the settings via an app which was awkward and inconvenient at times. The lack of Bluetooth and a wired design seems like a headscratcher nowadays as you really don't see companies take a step back in the technology department. Overall great sound but lack of Bluetooth will be a deal breaker for many as is the inability to tweak chat setting on the actual headphones or dial without the use of an app.

The Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset with Elite SuperAmp Bluetooth Audio Controller for Xbox One - White/Silver is worth every dollar that they cost. They give my ears an experience similar to listening to a movie in an IMAX theater. I can differentiate amongst all the different sounds clearly. Viewing my computer or TV screen with the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset on gives an experience of actually becoming absorbed into the game or video that I am watching. The large ear pads are extremely soft and cushiony. My ears fit inside the ear pads with no tightness or discomfort. They can be adjusted to fit tight or loose, depending on your preference. The Elite Super Amp control increases the volume immensely. The attachable microphone delivers clear and crisp audio. I can hear all aspects of my gaming experience more clearly with the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset with Elite SuperAmp Bluetooth Audio Controller for Xbox One than any other headset that I previously used.
