Which is great for me because I have kids and I want to be tuned in to both but for most people they want the sound cancelling. You can turn it up loud enough though to almost drown it out completely.

Makes no sense to have to charge headphones that are not wireless. Also there is no low battery display on any device you use these for so you do not know when to charge them.

The Recon 200s require charging due to the fact that they are amplified headsets. In order for the amplification to work, the headset would need to be powered by a power source of some sort.
Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller).
