Customers are saying

Customers admire the Recon 200 headset's sound quality, comfort, and value for its price. Many appreciate its compatibility across multiple gaming platforms and the convenient flip-up microphone. However, some users point to issues with battery life and the wired connection. A shorter cord length and occasionally low volume were also cited as drawbacks.

Great range of sound control and very easy to use. The ear pads I would give a 3.8 out of 5 but this is coming from a person who likes the softer pads.

Defective Volume Adjuster - Static/No Sound

I believe I received a defective unit - being that it functioned for the 1st couple of uses, I disposed of the original packaging, therefore; eliminating the possibility for a return. I want to believe this is a good headset for the sale price of $29.99 if working properly. When working, it sounds pretty good - I've been using it on the latest Battlefield game and it does in fact do a decent job on picking up the footsteps and surrounding movements in the game...again, for 30 bucks, it's not the worst purchase you can make. I've also tested it on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series X - so it's compatible for both. (I've seen mentions that it does not work on the X, however; it connects just fine in my experience.) As I mentioned initially, the Recon 200 I purchased is not up to par due to the following: - Volume: when I try to adjust the volume, a "static" noise appears and drones everything out. Furthermore, it has to be set just right to get sound from both sides of the headset. Sometimes, that means it is at a very low setting. @$30 bucks, it can be justified for a properly functioning headset - otherwise, it's time to pony up and invest in a good quality headset. -Serge

Great for Gaming! Only got 4 stars because the adapter can easily bend so extra care is needed when plugging it in or unplugging it. Otherwise great headset!

      Hey there Omar,

Thank you for leaving your feedback. Your are correct; the Recon 200 GEN 1 is a headset with a rechargeable battery. That battery would need to be charged in order for the headset to work.

With that being said; is there anything in particular that we are able to assist you with? Our Support Team is always happy to help as needed, and we can be reached right from the support section of the Turtle Beach website.

Was a good headset when we purchased it but with the constant unplugging and plugging back into the controller, it didn’t work anymore. It would be fine if it was plugged in all the time?

Just gave these to the kids today for Christmas. We use it for the Nintendo Switch. They love them. These are wired and a heads up if you have a switch it does not have blue tooth so you have to use a wired headset.

Bought this because I was looking for a good headset that would work with PS4 & PC. I've been told Turtle Beach was a great brand to go with, but I found with these, in order to work with PC, a splitter needs to be purchased in addition. Sound quality is fair, but if your looking for headphones to listen to music at high quality, this is not it. Also, it says "wired", but there is a battery pack in it that needs to be charged. This headset should have just been made completely wireless. Otherwise, pretty decent with console gaming & chat.

These headsets are good for the average gamer but the mic is a little crappy. However, the mic is not bad when the headset volume is not that high.

The sound on these are acceptable. Not earth shattering. I enjoy using them with the Xbox One to game and listen to music. They will begin to put pressure on your ears after awhile.
