After 10 minutes or so they hurt the top of my head due to the lack of padding.

This is something not expecting since a wired connection would’ve prevented any delays. In addition the fact this headset is required to charge battery regularly doesn’t make sense, since it’s a corded headset. With all this negatives, this is not a good option as a backup to my primary wireless headset.

In regard to your other comment; some of our wired model headsets (i.e. your Recon 200) require charging due to the fact that they are amplified headsets. In order for the amplification to work, the headset would need to be powered by a power source of some sort.
Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller).
