You need to have a fully charged battery in order to use it even though it is a wireless headset. So if you’re looking for a wired headset that doesn’t need charging I’d recommend looking into astro headset rather than this one.

The audio is really quiet, even after fully setting up the headphone settings within the XBOX menus. I would not recommend this product to anyone at any level of gaming even if it were a quarter of the price. Might I also add that I am a Turtle Beach fan I have a 10 year old headset for my computer I refuse to replace, true 5.1 surround in each speaker, yes a center, left/right, rear and sub in each speaker (4 total speakers per ear).

Battery life is mediocre. The most frustrating part is that they are a wired headset that needs to be charged? Like what? I find myself accidentally leaving them on after I am done playing and I would never have a reliable headset to use the following day. Don’t waste your money on this.

Please know that the Recon 200 is an amplified headset. In order for the amplification to work, the headset would need to be powered by a power source of some sort.
Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller).
