Customers are saying

Customers admire the Recon 200 headset's sound quality, comfort, and value for its price. Many appreciate its compatibility across multiple gaming platforms and the convenient flip-up microphone. However, some users point to issues with battery life and the wired connection. A shorter cord length and occasionally low volume were also cited as drawbacks.

I used it twice and the headset stopped working properly. Sometimes i can hear through it, sometimes i can't. Fiddling with the volume dial might help, but even if it works the sound is very crackled.

I have been a customer of Best Buy for a long time and this experience has been terrible. We had two pairs of this headset fail in 40 days total. The first pair was within the 15 day window, obviously no problem. The second pair failed to power up 12 days past the 15 day window. The customer service rep was good at quoting policy, but couldn't/wouldn't help beyond giving a false link for me to give my opinion of the policy. Before purchasing from Best Buy, please think first. If they throw the "policy card" up so fast for a $40 item, why trust them with a big ticket item.

Both of my kids spend most of their free time gaming, and neither liked these headsets at all. In the end they reverted to their regular headphones and these just gather dust in the corner.

Replacement in less than a month

My son bought these less than a month ago and we already have to get a replacement. The mic folds up and down, and when he went to use them the other day, the mic pretty much fell off. The screw holding the mic on fell off inside the headset. Pretty unhappy for the amount he paid for them for less than a month of use. I do give the company credit though, they told us they will replace them, even though Best Buy support was much less than helpful when I called. Depending on the quality of the next pair, that will make or break our overall impression of these headphones. If it's only for 1 month of minor use again, we won't be happy.

The Recon 200 is an amplified headset and requires charging in order for that amplification and additional features to work.

Rather than tethering you to the console or another power source via a USB cable, we placed a rechargeable battery in the headset. This allows you to only have one connection to the console's controller, rather than two (one to the console, one to the controller).

With that being said, is there anything in particular that we are able to assist you with? Our Support Team is always happy to help as needed, and we can be reached right from the support section of the Turtle Beach website.

It needs to be charged, and regularly. Charged in full, or sat for 3 days, then lasted 5-10 minutes before it stopped working again. Do not wast your time with this headset.

So i play online with my buddy. I can barely hear out of them when he talks. He even has his volume up all the way. I would rather have bought SkullCandy Hesh 2/3 or Crusher Headphones for better resutl. But if i play alone i can hear just fine.
