The Turtle Beach - RECON 70 Wired Stereo Gaming Headset for the Nintendo Switch is a quality set of headphones for both gaming and general use. The headset is a stylish red and black with a mic that drops down on the side. It also has volume dial to be able to adjust things to your desired level. From a build standpoint, this is made with a dense plastic and comfortable ear covers. This isn’t the greatest quality, but it definitely seems well-made and appears to be durable. This material does make it lighter in weight though. That will allow for better comfort and less weight to carry when traveling with it. Attached to the headphones, is versatile 3.5mm connector at the end of a 5’ wire. Obviously, a wireless option is always preferred, but this setup allows for use on more than just the Switch. Theoretically, this will work on the Playstation, Xbox, PC, and phones with that jack. Overall, this headset has its pluses and minuses. It’s stylish and lightweight while providing some quality sound for your gaming needs. It’s versatility with a standard 3.5mm connector makes it usable on almost all devices and gaming systems. The RECON 70 also provides crisp vocals to your friends when you are playing online with them. The mic can also be muted when returned to its upright position. On the flip side, it would be nice if these were made with more than plastic. It also would be nice if the wire detached for packing it up. The other negative with the wire is its length. It would be great if it was longer than 5'. Since you have to plug it into the Switch, it works great for playing on the small screen, but it’s too short when playing on a big screen. I would recommend a 3.5mm extension cable to put some distance between your eyes and the screen. Ultimately, the Turtle Beach - RECON 70 Wired Stereo Gaming Headset for the Nintendo Switch is stylish mid-line set that should meet most needs.

Turtle Beach - RECON 70 Wired Stereo Gaming Headset for Nintendo Switch - Red/Black The Turtle Beach RECON 70 headset is just what my daughter was looking for! She plays games on the Nintendo Switch with her siblings and needed a headset to communicate with. These Turtle beach RECON’s are nicely designed, simple, not too large, not too small. The red and black color scheme is nice. These are constructed from plastic with leatherette cushioning on the headband and of course, the ear pieces. It looks nice and feel sturdy. They’re fairly comfortable as well. My daughter, who is 8, doesn’t have any problems using them. I’ve tried them on as well and they’re comfortable. If I were to use them for longer periods, I’d probably want to stretch them out a bit by putting over a towel. The cord feels nice, silicone type, decent quality. You cannot unplug it from. The sound quality is between good to very good, for this price point, it’s great. If you’re an audiophile or hardcore gamer, you probably want to look for something better. Overall a nice looking headset with solid performance and a great price!

I have to admit I was a little leery being all plastic, but then I put them on! They are very comfortable and lightweight and fit my adult head and my 5 year old son's head quite well with the adjustments. Next I plugged them into the Switch and couldn't believe it. We were hearing background sounds and details on the games that we had never noticed before. The sound was also crisp and plenty loud. Next I realized that not only can you turn the volume up and down on the switch but you can also turn the headphones up and down on the back side of the left headphone. Having that almost hidden control is nice for the kids so they can't turn up the volume on the switch too loud. After a while of playing I still felt comfortable wearing the headphones and almost forget they are on as you get caught up in the game and great sound. We have only had them for a few weeks so can't speak to durability but so far I would recommend these to anyone with a switch as the sound is unmatched for this price point.

The headset is exactly what you’d expect them to be. They’re bright and colorful sitting on your head. They also sound bright, bringing the action to your ears. I used them with my WIndows laptop. They also worked perfectly well on my daughter’s Nintendo Switch. The volume is fine and the over-the-ear pads were comfortable on my head, even with them sitting on my head for a couple of hours. They do a decent job of blocking ambient noise. These are not designed for listening to music, but that’s in keeping with how I use them. They’re great for conversations with the other parties being loud and clear. Mutting is easy by swinging up the boom mic. It’s fast and easy to do while hands are otherwise occupied. The Turtle Beach Recon 70 headset is a great choice for gamers and teens who want something over the ear and don’t mind a wire. You can stay connected to your friends and fellow gamers while being disconnected from everyone else!

For the price, I am pretty impressed with the quality of this headset. It is not to be confused with a $300 set, but for what it is intended, it does a very good job. I have worn these for a few hours and have not found anything really uncomfortable, although I personally would have liked to have them use a little more cushion in the earcups. The adjustment stayed where I set it for the headband and the flip-up mic is a very handy feature. The color combination goes well with the Switch, looking like it could have come straight from Nintendo! The cord is plenty long enough and the sound quality is decent for the price range. You get what you pay for, but these were a very good bargain for the price and I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone but the most picky listeners.

As a gamer for about 40 years I've had my fair share of headsets for various gaming systems. And as a new Switch owner I wanted something simple, easy to use, high quality and that has multiple ways to use it. Sort of like the actual Nintendo Switch itself now that I think about it. Enter the new Turtle Beach RECON 70 wired stereo headset. At a very affordable price I was sort of skeptical but since I had already had several Turtle Beach headsets in the past so I knew that Turtle Beach had quite a few pretty quality headdsets for folks on a budget. When the RECON 70's arrived I immediately opened them up and tried them on. They are very comfortable, a nice snug fit but not too smug and light enough that you won't have issue with wearing them for long gaming sessions. The 3.5" simple jack makes them compatible with any PC, Xbox One or PS4 in addition to the Nintendo Switch, which is great. In fact, the first time using these I grabbed them to use on the Xbox One as I was in a Division 2 session with party chat and didn't want to go get my official Xbox One headphones. These worked great, just plugged them into the controller and they came on. The volume defaults to max and it was pretty loud, so loud in fact that I turned it to about 80%. The audio is clear, the bass is there but not booming and overall it's a good, but not out-of-this-world sound. I asked three different teammates after our 2 hour gaming session how they could hear me and they all said crystal clear. The headset mutes when you push up the radio mic so that is nice so that you can mute yourself when the dogs are barking or such. One thing to note, you cannot hear yourself through your mic when you talk so that may bother some folks (or other folks may find that a plus as I've heard some do not like that). That is one thing that I did not really care for as I prefer to hear when I speak through the headset like my Astro A50's do. And yes I did check the option in the Xbox One to ensure it was setup right but this headset must not support that feature. Using these on the Nintendo Switch yielded the same results in regards to listening but I did not use them to communicate in any games because I don't really play the Switch online using voice chat. These are also portable and do not require anything but the headset (no dongles or extras) so that'll make taking them on the road with your Switch a nice option. All in all I'd recommend these as they are quality and the fact that they can be used on multiple systems is a huge plus. They aren't going to blow you away with how fantastic they sound but they sound good enough that you won't notice any issues or feel like your sound is subpar. The mic is crystal clear and the fact that they are wired means no charging which is nice considering that the vast majority of everything needs constant charging nowadays. For the price that these retail at, and considering you can likely find them cheaper online, they yield an incredible value for not just Nintendo Switch owners but anyone just looking for a quality, economical headset for their PC, Xbox One, PS4 or Nintendo Switch. I WOULD RECOMMEND

The Turtle Beach Recon 70 gaming headset provides a pretty good experience. It connects to your device via a 3.5 inch jack. It has a three-position microphone, one fully deployed for in game speech functions, a middle muted position and a fully stored configuration. The well padded, divided plastic speaker cups which allows the speakers to lay over your ear in a comfortable fashion, even with large ears. Also the headphone band has some additional padding so it rests on your head comfortably. As for how they sound, for the price I think they are decent although nothing outstanding. High ends seem to be a little muddy, with low frequency sounds not being overly pronounced. The on ear volume control also is fairly handy, much better than the on wire type. I would have liked a plug for the sound cord on the headphones itself, this way you could use your own cable of any length, rather than the integrated type. I’ve worn this headset for a nonstop 5 hour gaming session without any fatigue or discomfort. Overall I think this is a decent, comfortable budget headset. It could use a few improvements, but to compare these to a high end gaming headsets is unfair. Pros: - Decent sound quality - Comfortable, well padded - Decent looking - On speaker volume control Cons: - Could use a modular cord

These TB headphones are a good pair for the Switch or just as headphones. They have a slightly tight, secured feel around my melon. The mic picked up my voice as normal with no issues. The headphones are black and red, with a volume rocker behind the left ear. The volume does get rather loud, so another plus in my book. The cord length is also adequate, considering you have them plugged into the switch directly in portable mode.

So. We know games can be loud, well with these the kids (and big kids) can get all the sound they want without bothering everyone else Light weight but good quality. They are a little larger then most so may not easily fit in a bag designed for the switch. But easy enough to carry in a sling bag Universal headphone jack so can be used for other devices as well Pretty good sound for this level of headphone.

Turtle Beach RECON 70 Wired Stereo Gaming Headset for Nintendo Switch in Red/Black are a decent headset for when you want to enjoy your game audio while playing on your Nintendo Switch. Even though these are marketed for the Nintendo Switch, these Turtle Beach RECON 70 Wired Stereo Gaming Headset can be used with any device that has a 3.5mm port. This includes, but not limited to: smartphones, portable entertainment systems, MP3 players, CD players, etc. The overall quality of the headset is acceptable for what this headset is for. The sturdy plastic design is good for semi-extended use, but after a while you may have to take a break and take them off. Great audio quality for both the speakers and the microphone. No issues hearing others or speaking to people. Also a great headset to use if you simply just want to talk on your phone. Whether it is a traditional phone call or through a third party communication app like Skype. Overall a great headset to have for when you just want to listen to your gameplay or communicate with others both in and out of the game.

My son has the Nintendo Switch and didnt have a headset for it. Being a portable gaming system it was important to find something that was comfortable to wear as well as good sound while in the car, etc. This headset addresses both items. He likes it as much as his PC headset. I would definitely recommend it.
