It is just a little bit better than the one you get with the Xbox

Was a great gift for Christmas for a young teenager good quality.

Great for initial or inexpensive use. Well worth it for those cases.

When I bought this headset, I was looking for an inexpensive headset that was a little more comfortable than the default headset that came with the XBox One. Inexpensive was key point for me at the time. This headset not only checked that box, but the decent ratings and reviews sealed the deal for me. It was my hope that I would get three to four years of use out of it, at which time I could then buy something a little higher end to replace it with. Unfortunately, the time to replace it is now. I discovered today that my headset was no longer able to play sounds through it. Even worse, I have no idea just how long ago it stopped working. In my case, I was not using the headset to play game sounds. I was only using it to talk to people when I live streamed as well as when I was in a group chat during multiplayer games. I knew the microphone was working because people who watched my stream were replying to me. But I hadn't been in a group chat for nearly three months before today. So sometime in the last three months, the head phone lost the ability to play sounds. During the seven months that the headset worked, I was happy with it. The sound it produced wasn't the best ever, and the microphone made my voice sound a little too tinny. But neither of those issues were that big of a problem to me because of the low price of the set. If I had rated the headset prior to today, I would have given it four stars. Breaking after only 7-10 months of use, however? Even for this low of a price, that is completely unacceptable to me. I don't yet know what headset I'm going to replace it with, but it won't be one this cheap. And there's a good chance it won't be a Turtle Beach headset either.
