Entry-level wireless gaming headphones have come a long way. Nowadays, they offer features like Bluetooth connection, app support, and decent audio quality. The Turtle Beach 500 provides all of this, along with support for PC, Nintendo Switch, and any Bluetooth device. If you’re looking for a no-frills pair of wireless gaming headphones with solid audio quality, excellent mic quality, long-lasting battery life, and support for other devices, the Stealth 500 is an excellent choice. Not only that, but they are also lightweight, making them comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. Some of the standout features: Up to 40hrs of battery life with quick charge Low latency connection via USB Dongle or Bluetooth 5.2 Compatible with Swarm II application (desktop or mobile) Flip to Mute Mic Lightweight Memory Cushion Foams The audio quality was solid on both ends via a USB dongle or Bluetooth connection. Compared to higher-end gaming headphones, the difference in audio for me was that the highs suffered a bit, and the low-end sound was muddy. The mids still have a clear, crisp sound. This is good, especially for online multiplayer games like Call of Duty and Fortnite, where having a great sense of your surroundings can give you a leg up. The Swarm II app offers a 10-band adjustment, and pressing the EQ button cycles through the default sound modes - signature sound, bass boost, treble and boost, and vocal boost. For the most part I kept it on the signature sound profile. I noticed the increased in bass from the bass boost or treble and boost profile would result in bass crackling. The mic quality was excellent. I actually use it for team meeting calls, and it worked great, with no complaints, especially during my online gaming sessions. The flip-to-mute is my favorite feature of this headset. No need to press a button to mute when you can just quickly flip it away. Of course, for the price, the Stealth 500 won’t feel or look like higher-end sets. They do feel solid, though, and they should be able to handle some roughing. What was most important for me was how comfortable they were to wear with my glasses on. I actually prefer the clamp force on the Stealth 500. Higher end Turtle Beach models are too excessive in my opinion especially if you are wearing glasses. The Stealth 500 is a solid choice for entry-level wireless gaming headphones. They’re comfortable to wear, have long battery life, and are versatile for those who also own a Switch or PC.

Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless Gaming Headset Featuring big sound, extended comfort, and device compatibility, the Turtle Beach Stealth 500 wireless gaming headset provides the immersive audio experience you want for whatever system you need. Whether you're on the go with your Nintendo Switch or sitting at your PC workstation, these headphones are built to last as long as your gaming session needs to be. Light in weight with an all-black finish, the Stealth 500s arrive ready to go as soon as you open the box. I love how the microphone is designed to tuck into the left earpiece for muting or when not in use, as well as the comfort, floating headband below the main headband that stretches to fit your head. The memory foam ear cushions are soft but breathable - extended use doesn't cause a lot of sweaty contact. All of the controls are located on the left earpiece, including volume (for both sound and mic), Bluetooth connectivity, mode, and power. An included USB-C charging cable connects here as well, and the headset can be charged while in use to further extend usage. The ease by which connecting to a phone, gaming system, or PC varies based on your device of choice. For me, connecting to a mobile and PC desktop were quick and painless, whereas connecting to my PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch took a little extra effort, especially the Nintendo Switch which does not use the included USB wireless transmitter dongle. The gaming systems took a little more time locating the headset, but once connected, the Stealth 500 headphones really stand out. Sound is super immersive and although not billed as noise-cancelling, the device does a decent job of blocking out your immediate environment as well. To me though, the selling point of the Stealth 500 is its ultra-comfort level during long usage. I can confidently keep these headphones on during long commutes on the train and bus, walking through the city to work, and back home to easily switch to my home PC at the touch of a button. With battery life of 40 hours, the Stealth 500 headset keeps you focused on the task at hand. Turtle Beach has a winner here with the Stealth 500 wireless gaming headset. Ultra light and portable, this little powerhouse of a headset keeps you comfortable and in the game, whether you're on the road or at home. A definitely solid choice for your gaming setup.

I received this as part of a review promotion. I was a little skeptical at first because I haven't had good luck with cheaper headsets. Either the sound is off, or they are uncomfortable. I can say that I didn't feel that was the case with these. To start with...the headset is easy to set up right out of the box. It comes packaged well, with a charging cord, and a USB adapter. Just plug in the USB adapter to your machine (mine was a PS5) and turn the headset one (just make sure you charged the headset...it comes charged but it is recommended to fully charge it). It paired instantly. It did have to go in and select the headset but that's because I rotate between 3 different headsets when I play. The headset it light weight. It doesn't create a lot of tension on your neck or ears like a heavier set would. It used the stretch bang to create the "perfect" fit and honestly it does a good job of that. This might be my most comfortable headset just simply due to the way it sets and its weight. That's a big deal for me. Even though it is light weight the headset feels sturdy. The microphone closes into the frame but is easy to open as well. I’ve been playing on and off for a week and I haven’t had to charge the batter yet either. The sound quality was a very nice surprise as well. I play Call of Duty and I could easily tell the direction of the sounds which helps a lot with knowing where your opponent is. The sound was clear with not static breaking through. It might not have the loudest sound capacity, but the sound quality is good and will do well for any gamers. Overall…it’s a great choice especially if you do not want to break the bank.

Summary ------ Overall a great mid range gaming headset. It supports Bluetooth and 2.4Gz (Comes with a dongle). The headphones has a great battery life of upto 40 hours and fits well. THe headset cannot stretch and hence may be a little uncomfortable on a large head. The quick charge really comes in handy. For gaming , the sound is pretty good and the Swarm II app works great. The cushions on the cups work great and comfortable. Overall for the price its a good buy. Pros ---- 1. Great Price , good value 2. upto 40 hours of battery life. 3. works great with pS5 Cons ---- 1. Wish the headphone stretched Details -------- Got this headphones for my son who was constantly talking on the games like fortnite using the in-built speakser within the controller. He has been very satisfied with the headphones. The headphones is basically plug and play for PS5. This headphone works also with the PC with the supported dongle. The headphones required a software update when connected and which was seamless. I also downloaded the Swarm II app which lets me monitor the battery life and also enables feature like super human hearing. The audio quality is very good and can be adjusted using the app. The mic also performs very well and i also tested on my office zoom calls. works great.

Headsets are interesting to review. I’ve purchased many and a few times made the mistake of picking one only to find out that it didn’t have a mic. These DO have a mic and I like how it is kinda hidden or in a bezel. Some of the things that I like are: Useable by so many things. PC Xbox PlayStation Nintendo Switch and also the one that is not listed which I use it for primarily is the steam deck Oled. Battery is crazy good. It feels like you never need to charge it I believe it is around 40 hours although I didn’t test it and it has still not died for me yet. The 40mm drivers bring out some good sound. Not the best you will see but at that price point it’s what should be expected and more then enough for some quality gaming and hearing footsteps. Comfort: This is a big one for me. I don’t like some of the headsets that are too tight on my head and cause me irritation on my ears after long periods of use. I found these to be comfortable and not any issues with sweating or sound either. Overall a solid product from a solid company that pairs nice on my steam deck.

    A Good Starter Set

The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 is a great choice for a starter headset. Performance wise its got 40mm drivers for some deep and clear sound quality that will take your gaming expereince to another level. Design wise its focused more on comfort than aesthetics. This means it doesnt have a crazy amount of RGB lighting or unnecessary features or controls, but instead it is a lightweight and minimalist set that has cushy ear muffs that will keep you comfortable during long gaming sessions. The biggest selling point is the battery life, the Stealth 500 has a whooping 40hrs of battery life, which is actually higher than some if the premium headsets on the market, this means youll be gaming for longer times before having to charge. The headset is wirelessly connected by a USB dongle, so its compatible with just about any console or pc whether its a Switch, PS5, or High End PC. I tried it out on my PS5 and it was good, my only complaint is that its not 3D audio compatible. Other than that its a solid entry level headset that can outshine some higher end sets.

I’m a casual gamer, and this headset exceeded my expectations. Great sound, comfortable fit and a charge lasts several days, and charges back up in only a few hours. USB plugs in easily to my PS5 and links right up to the headset. Swarm II App works great to keep track of the charge, change sound etc. Definitely worth the cost.

The Stealth 500s are an extremely comfortable headset. They can easily be worn for hours at a time. There is nothing that gets in the way of the gaming experience. Like a good gaming controller, the 500s feel like an extension of yourself, you can almost forget that they're on, letting me focus on what's going on during the game. The floating headband feels secure but without so much clamping pressure. They don't jostle around while moving my head and are comfortable to wear even with thicker type glasses on. Like any headset, the button placement needs to be memorized in order to get used to accessing the features quickly, but I do appreciate that each button is shaped a bit differently. That helps tremendously with the learning curve of button memorization. The mic is decent. There are some tradeoffs to it though. Vocals are clear but the mic is very sensitive, and it picks up everything. Even the slightest mouse, trackpad, or keystrokes will be picked up. Luckily the mic can flip up and down to active voice on or off, with a nice red or green light on the USB dongle letting you know when the mic is hot. It has good balance and does a good job at keeping it together during. While the audio quality isn't bad at all. It is nothing that will really wow you. It all depends on the game. When audio is optimized it's an enjoyable listen. In games like Gran Turismo, MLB The Show, or FO4, the audio is great. Games like Elden Ring are a bit more muddled when action really picks up. The Stealth 500s are a great starting pair that will get the job done, and for most this will be all you need and could want. Especially those wanting to play without waking up family members during all night gaming sessions.

Hardware: Build quality is really good. Microphone and sound works great. I have played games without any lag or communication issues speaking with other players. Comfort: The comfort level is really good with the flexible band under the head band support, gives an additional layer of comfort which I was surprised to see when I took it out of the box. Can wear these for hours without hurting my head nor ears. Packaging - Packaging is very nice. Packaged very nicely, was able to protect the headset during shipment without fail. Everything organized nice and neat in the box. Setup - Easy, plug n play. Plugged the Wireless USB adapter into the back of the PS5 and it connected immediately when I turned the headset on. Quality - Sound was awesome, the 3D audio very crisp and fills my head from so many angles. Games come to life as well as movies I have watched on the PS5. Can't get over how real everything seems to be and am amazed. Absolutely would highly recommend these headphones to anyone who is looking for a great wireless headset. Can't go wrong feels like these could last younger players without fail as well.

These headphones are comfortable and stylish. Easy connection. Excellent noise cancellation and clear sound. They do unfortunately lack in spatial audio, which is very important in some games. They are light and comfortable. The ear cups are soft and don't press on my ears. The head band doesn't weigh heavy or dig into my head. The appearance is stylish and nice looking. Connection is quick and easy as should be. The noise cancellation is excellent in these headphones. It's noticeable from the moment you put them on. They really shine on this aspect. The sound comes through very clear, no problem. The lack of spatial audio is important for games where you need to know where your opponent is, where the sound is coming from in the game. Some games don't really need this as much and these headphones are great for those. But if spatial audio is important to your game these lack in that area unfortunately. I do really like them otherwise for the noise cancellation and comfort especially.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 is an amazing wireless headset, and is one of the best values in gaming at it's price point! For me, one of the main factors in deciding which gaming headset to use is comfort for long gaming sessions. No one wants sweaty ears and a tired neck after only 1-2 hours when you plan to game for many hours longer! This headset does a great job of feeling light on the head, and being comfortable for extended timeframes which is amazing. The flip down mic is another great feature, it's nice to quickly flip it out of the way when it is not in use, instead of having to disconnect it from the headset altogether. The sound quality is good for a device in this price range, and I can discern footstep locations fairly well. While not the sound you would get from a high end model, it definitely gets the job done for MMO and FPS type games that I typically play. I have had no issue syncing this up with my PS5, Switch, or PC and it works flawlessly with all 3! Overall this headset is amazing at it's price point, and I think it will be hard to beat!

Amazing especially for the price, although I don’t use the mic it comes with since I have my own. But the noise quality and easy to distinguish sounds is honestly impressive, I hear footsteps that no one else on the team can hear. And there’s no noticeable delay at all, honestly really worth it

The Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Wireless gaming headset is a very good value for a quality headset with good features and sound quality. High points: 1) Clean design - this headset's look doesn't scream "GAMER" but it also is clearly not a business headset. 2) Comfort - I really like the elastic band that sits inside the plastic headband. In the past this style of headset band has held up better than I'd expected so I don't have many qualms about it here. It makes for a very soft feel but still has the springy durability of the plastic headband. 3) Features - Very easy to switch from dongle to bluetooth. I love having the dongle as it makes it really easy to hand to my kids to plug into a console or their own gaming PC without having to explain how to pair. Also nice for leaving connected to a thunderbolt dock that gets switched between computers. Flip to mute mic is great at this price point, and it also folds in two dimensions to be closer or farther from your mouth. 4) Sound quality - While this isn't an earthshattering listening experience, it's good enough without being as bass heavy as inexpensive headsets seem to gravitate towards. It sounds pretty good. Low points: 1) Doesn't have the ability to connect via 3.5mm, but that's not a big deal to me at all. 2) I know this isn't marketed as a kids headset, but it would be nice given the price if it had a volume limiter built in for parents. I imagine given the price that a lot of parents will buy these for young gamers.

All the good specs are completely cancelled out by the problems this headset has. Though it is comfortable, I am CONSTANTLY having to basically scream into the mic for anyone to hear me. All day I hear that the mic is WAY too quiet and no one can hear me. Even when I move the mic close to my mouth, it’s not good enough. Also, when you flip the mic up to mute it, half the time it glitches and turns it on and off multiple times before sticking to how you set it. On top of that, sometimes it just spazzes out completely and plays a brain scrambling type noise for 30 seconds then restarts. Even adjusting the sensitivities on the app doesn’t help, don’t get this if you plan on communicating with teammates or friends whatsoever. I got a $35 headset that works better than this $80 piece of garb.
