Easily the best XBOX headphones I've used

I have had a few Turtle Beach products and I always come away super-impressed. I'm happy to report that these headphones are absolutely terrific. It's so nice to be wireless and not wired to your controller like the headphones of yesteryear.
The amplification is more than adequate and bass actually can boom. I have a few competitors headphone offerings but these are my new favorite for XBOX for sure.
Battery life seems is excellent. I can play for 8 hours before a recharge is needed with the volume set to mid.
The build quality is fantastic and I can wear these over my ears for longer periods of time. They eventually did cause a little soreness on my ears but not until about 5 hours or so into use. In contrast, my go-to premium music/movies headphones that I use on flights, make my ears sore after about 2 hours into the flight. The boom mic is especially nice as it's very sturdy and says in the optimal position. Fitment customization is key and these cans are easily adjustable for most people I would think.

The Turtle Beach wireless headphones is one of my favorite pair of headphones that I use with my Xbox gaming console. The setup was very easy and user friendly. I did not run into any issues setting them up. I like their design and style, and they’re also comfortable to wear. I have the white pair, which looks clean. Since wear glasses I wasn’t sure how they would fit. I can actually say they are glasses friendly. The sound quality is pretty good. They’re not the absolute best I’ve used, but I’d give them a 4 out of 5. The headphones have different sound mode presets to chose from. I can actually hear a difference in sound quality when playing my games. The super human hearing is excellent, and it really picks up all minute sound details. The mic does a good job of projecting my voice, while making background noise softer. With the headphones being wired, they’re just as good as some of my wired headphones since there is little to no delay. Overall, a good set of headphones I use with my Xbox.

I am familiar with the Turtle Beach brand because I had gotten them for my kids previously and it was really good quality as well as standing up to the abuse that they definitely subjected the headphones to.
I have long been a believer that a great set of speakers or headphones will give a gamer a leg up against the competition. What exactly do I mean by that? Well, stereo headphones will only really tell you which side, right or left, the sound is coming from. While a proper set of surround sound headphones will tell you (almost) exactly where the sound is coming from in 3D dimensional space. So, I have had a set of 7.1 surround sound headphones for many many years. They have saved me many a death when it comes to playing only FPS and other games where either stealth, or strategic movements are needed or even games where knowing when and where others are coming from when they come towards you is needed. I was super happy to give the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headphones a try!
The first thing I did was unbox everything and hook the dongle up to my gaming PC and see what they sounded like. Unfortunately, it took a bit of finagling to get them to work. I tried with just the dongle, I tried wired into my PC, I tried reinstalling the application, I tried on my laptop, I tried on another laptop, I tried on my work laptop, I tried on my chromebook (super far out there chance I thought but was worth a shot). Right when I was about to give up I tried it on my gaming PC again and what do ya know! The headphones were syncing with the dongle finally. I am still unsure what caused the hiccup of setting these up but they worked great after getting them connected this time.
I fired up some music videos to see how they sounded with music. They sounded great & I couldn't wait to try them out gaming.
I put them through the paces in both my gaming PC, my gaming laptop and also my Xbox Series S console So, gaming for me is usually racing games, FPS games and of course some sports games too. This is where I truly fell in love with these headphones. The sound quality was really superb. This is coming from a guy who has a highly known brand's wires 7.1 surround sound headphones plus a 7.1 surround sound capable soundbar with a stand alone sub as my other audio source on my PC. So these $300-ish dollar headphones by the other guys and this $400-ish surround sound soundbar are bested by these headphones was definitely cool to me but also let me know it was time to rethink some of my purchasing of the higher end brands if they can be beat out by something a fraction of the cost. I am extremely happy with everything about these headphones by Turtle Beach. Who knew that my kids had it right all along when they had me buying them Turtle Beach headphones...now I'm going to be getting them a set of these or the 700 series as a thank you for helping me to discover the brand. If not for them I don't know that I'd have tried these. I have no regrets that I did. You won't either!

Overall
Turtle Beach has been a name I’ve known for their superior audio headsets ever since becoming a “real’ gamer. I mean, I’ve been gaming for most of my life, since my earliest memories as a child with the NES console. Yeah, Atari wasn’t really in the cards during my childhood so… Anyway, since then up until the early Xbox days, I was merely a casual gamer. Shortly afterwards however, I was introduced to Turtle Beach. These headsets live on to continue Turtle Beach’s legacy of quality products. They come with plenty of features for mostly any gamer and a quality mic, can’t say I had trouble being heard by anyone. The plastic molding might be a bit lacking however.
Construction
This is one part I’m a little skeptical of. When compared to the budget models from 2020-2021, or more specifically RECON 600 Gen 2 or this exact model from an earlier release. These flail by comparison as the plastic molded material forming the structure of the headphones feels more generic, almost hollow. However, the cushion material along the headband and ear cups seems well made like all other models I’ve held before.
Features
While I love the features these are packed with, from mic monitoring, which allows you to hear yourself, to their superhuman hearing. I do dislike that they continue to refer to some of their features by names they coined with previous models even if they’ve altered the function. For example, the ProSpecs feature has been coined in many models for the past 4 years, at least to the extent of my knowledge. However, that feature has changed over time. In this particular model, the top, bottom, and rear of the ear cup is of the same material which seems to be memory foam. However, the front side is a bit more stiff. It took me a while to figure these out but after sitting at my desk I realized that the cushions on my arm rests felt pretty similar. To my knowledge those are filled with memory foam and a gel center. In previous models, the ProSpecs feature meant having a hidden pull string or plastic tab that would pull down the front side of the ear cup to allow the user to wear glasses. Adding a distinction to the feature would be better marketing. I had to play with the cups for a short bit looking for the feature as I remembered it last. After I couldn’t figure it out I glanced over at the manual to realize there is no mention of the ProSpecs feature anywhere, only back of the box. The other feature I’d like to poke at is the wireless functionality. In older budget models, wireless meant it was a native wireless connection. I admittedly fell for this, but if you don’t notice the USB text on the box (next to the “GEN” text) chances are you missed it as well. You’ll need to have a spare USB port on your xbox to use these. If you have chargers, external hard drives, or wired remotes, chances are you wont have a spare for a headset.
Conclusion
These have a great audio quality and good features. However, if you’re shopping in store be sure to go over the packaging in its entirety to make certain these will work out for you. Outside of the lazy marketing the only real issue is construction, but with a little care these will server you well for many years.

Went through the setup process as the instructions say to do. The first set would not pair at all. Exchanged them and got a brand-new set. The second set doesn't allow game chat on any game. Went through the reset process on both sets and still did remedy either issue. Will never invest in the brand again.

I needed a quick headset becasue I was in a pinch and saw a fancy TurtleBeach blutooth headset and decided why not. The build quality isn’t the greatest at all and when I started talking in a party with friends they said it was probably the worst sounding microphone they have heard.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB, while not having the best name out there, is an “upgrade” of sorts of the Stealth 600 Gen 2, which itself came out last year to replace the Gen 1. While the headset design stayed the same over the “classic” Gen 2, Turtle Beach has changed the connectivity type for the Xbox version that I have been using. The previous version was compatible with the Xbox Wireless protocol, meaning no extra dongle was required to connect it. However, with the Gen 2 “USB” version, a USB-A dongle is there for the connection.
The headset itself has the classic Turtle Beach form-factor. While not flashy and laden with RGBs and other blings, the look still has a “gaming” vibe to it with large ear-cups and thick headbands. Both the earcups are covered with some kind of sweat-wicking fabric material, with a foam insert. It is not as plush as other premium headsets, and does not have any cooling gel tech, I was able to use it without discomfort for hour-long gaming sessions. I personally always feel more comfortable using fabric-wrapped headphones compared to leather/pleather types. As for construction - it’s an all-plastic build. There’s no metal on the headband or the earcup pivot points. However, the matte finish feels good, and the build quality is good. I never thought it’ll break during regular usage - however with accidental force (or with intention) it can be broken.
Setting up the headset is easy as it gets. It came already synced with the included USB dongle, so having that connected to my Xbox and powering on the headset is the only thing I needed to do. The LEDs in both the headset and the dongle change when connected successfully, and there’s audio chimes too.
The headset provides some basic controls - the typical volume and also another dial to change the chat volume. Besides the power volume (which also doubles as the toggle button for Turtle Beach’s Superhuman Hearing mode), there’s a mode button that can be pressed to cycle between 4 different EQ settings. I’m happy to see a USB-C port for charging/updating.
Personally I’m pleased with the overall sound quality. Though I couldn't find a way to change the pre-configured EQs, all of them were useable. I’m sticking with the “Signature Sound” for most of the time, occasionally using the Bass Boost. Vocal Boost seemed to do very little to accentuate the actual dialogues in games and movies. I didn’t expect pristine sound quality from this gaming headset like some studio headphones I use daily, so I was not disappointed. However, I still can’t stand the “Superhuman Hearing” mode which makes the sound really bad for my taste. I’m not a competitive FPS player so maybe it matters less for me, but based on some of the action/shooters I have played so far I didn’t feel it was giving me any “boost”. YMMV.
The mic performance is good. Like other TB units, it has the “flip-to-mute” mic, which collapses back to the earcups when not needed, and also pivots a little towards the mouth for better voice pick-up. My friends on the other end told me that compared to some of the other headsets they were hearing a bit more of ambient noise, but that was minimal. I haven’t tried them on in a very crowded place yet.
Updating the headset means connecting it to a PC (or MAC) using the Turtle Beach Audio Hub. The software is barebones and I had a lot of connectivity issues. It regularly failed to detect the dongle and the headset together. And even after that apart from updating, it provided minimal control over the settings - only the Mic Monitor Level and the Tones Level can be adjusted, and unfortunately they didn’t seem to work. Hopefully Turtle Beach will provide some updates.
One interesting thing I found was this headset works with PCs (so apparently not Xbox exclusive). It was detected as an “Xbox Controller”. However, I could only mute/unmute using the PC (the volume slider didn’t work) and had to rely on both the Game Volume and Chat Volume wheel on the headset itself. The mic worked ok as well in this case so I was able to use it for some Zoom/Teams meeting as well. I pushed my luck and connected it to my OnePlus 7T smartphone (running Android 11), but it was not detected.
Overall, I’m pleased with this new Stealth 600 Gen 2 USB. It worked well as an Xbox gaming headset, and doubled as a PC headset as well. It is more of an entry/mid-tier wireless headset, so I’d look at something like a Stealth 700 if I wanted a more premium headset. I don’t see the reason why we can’t have universal wireless connectivity for gaming headsets so they work smoothly with Xbox, PC and Playstation. Also, I wish the Audio Hub software was more refined and provided better connectivity and functionality.
One disclaimer I have is the initial unit I received was faulty and failed to stay on for more than a few minutes. The second unit I got worked without issues.

Your average turtle beach headset updated. Turtle Beach is the typical go to when your looking for a quality headset at a great price. This setup is made for Xbox only (X/S). There is a PlayStation version that will be similar if that is your choice of a game system. There are four things that are specifically important when it comes to this specific headset that I like. The first and greatest thing I like is the superhuman hearing. It adjust the sound settings perfectly and it’s something I only find with turtle beach that works well compared to other brands. I feel like I truly hear more than my buddies. 2nd the headset recharges via USB C this is a must now a days yet many new products are still using micro usb. Usb c is much more durable and just superior over micro usb. Third, the flip up mic. I have another headset without the flip up mic and it’s just not the same. The flip mic lets you gets it out of the way and also mute it. Perfect for when your gaming with friends and you want to mute yourself while playing with friends and want to munch on a quick snack haha! Fourth, I like when headsets are glasses friendly as they typically relieve pressure from your ears compared to non glasses friendly sets. I wear glasses and this is a must or I rather not even use the headset.
Some minor things I don’t like….. they are 100% plastic which is typical for this price range. The plastic is nothing special and no special like designs. Turtle beach does advertise that the head band and hinges are strengthened compared to the prior gens but time will tell on this.

The Stealth 600 for XBOX is a great all-around headset with a cool universal USB adapter that it uses for required connectivity and QoS management when connected to an XBOX or PC.
This device contains one of the new TB universal USB dongles that allows this headset to be configured with XBOX One, Series S/X, But also at least on PCs running Windows 10/11. I have tested this with both a PC (Intel NUC Desktop) and both the XBOX Series S and XBOX One S consoles. The connectivity was flawless, simple, and worked everywhere, every time...
I didn't get a chance to test this with Switch of PlayStation, as I don't have those consoles available. If I understand the literature included with the headset, the USB adapter is now auto-switching and SHOULD work with other platforms.
I prefer the audio experience in the official XBOX wireless headset, but the extensibility of this solution to other platforms makes it a GREAT choice for players of multiple platforms and PC. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an all-purpose wireless gaming headset with GREAT audio quality and decent build quality.

The sound quality is as to be expected from Turtle Beach. Audio is clear and there are presets available for choosing what frequencies you would like to emphasize. I normally just leave them on Signature Sound as it strikes a good balance but Footstep Focus can be useful for PvP matches. The microphone does an okay job. The sleek form when stowed and the adjustability are let down a little bit by the sound quality. My friends described it as "not bad, but it sounded like I was on an old cellphone". I'm not sure how useful that analogy is as I'm sure the target audience of this headset hasn't used anything prior to an iPhone. The reason I say that has to do with the sizing and comfort. While I snagged these for myself, I will probably end up giving them to my 10 year old stepdaughter. The ear cups are just slightly too small for my ears end up rubbing on the tops of my ears. This coupled with the high level of clamp from the headband leads me to believe that this headset is intended for younger heads. I could make it work for my head but it was apparent when I had her try them on it was a much more natural fit. Aside from fitment (mostly a me thing) and a mediocre mic I think this headset is still a solid option if it fits you. It's lightweight, good sound quality and being able to use it on both PC and XBox is a win.
