Being a long-time owner of the Stealth Gen 2 headset, I wondered how much of an improvement the Gen 3 would bring. Spoiler alert: It is certainly worth the update! First, let's talk about looks. Now they appear a bit less “gamery” and more on the sleek side. The matte-black finish looks classier, and although they are a bit bulky, I could even wear them during business online meetings. The build-quality is still good, despite being mostly plastic. My old headset has survived several years (I do take care of them very well). So, I expect the same from these. While the headphones are comfortable for the most part, I did feel that the clamping force was a bit strong, which is great for keeping the headset on my head, but after a long gaming session, my upper jaw did get a little sore. The good news is that the ear pads are super soft and breathable, so my ears never got too hot or sweaty. Also, the pads passed the glasses test quite nicely. The controls are tactile and easy to find. I appreciate the wheel rocker volume and chat controls rather than touch controls. For connectivity, these headphones have everything covered. We’re talking about Xbox, PS5, PC, and even mobile. I have all these devices and I was able to hook it up with no issues via the 2.4Ghz dongle or Bluetooth 5.3. There is a convenient button to switch between modes. The mic quality is decent. It does not beat a dedicated mic, but I was heard clearly and ambient noise (especially keystrokes), were kept to a minimum. I have always liked the mic’s flip-to-mute feature rather than a mute button. The dongle goes red when muted, which is pretty nifty. The battery life is quite impressive as always. It’s been a few days of heavy use and I still have more than 50% juice left. There is no real improvement on the sound signature. However, this is a good thing as the 50mm drivers deliver the same full, energetic audio. At the default setting, the bass is punchy and there is plenty of that subwoofer feel. The midrange is engaging and the treble soars high without being harsh or sibilant. Just in case, there are four EQs to choose from at the press of a button. There’s great channel separation and imaging, which is great when playing FPS. There is a “super hearing” mode that I really was not impressed with, since it just enhances treble to make certain sounds be heard more clearly. The companion Swarm II Desktop & Mobile App provides a robust set of customizations. From button actions, mappable wheel functions, and a full 10-band EQ, you can set up the headset to your full preference. As I alluded at the beginning, I am impressed with the Gen 3s. Not only do they look better in my opinion, but they also provide more functionality and versatility this time around, without sacrificing sound and communication quality –certainly worth the price.

First, these are very good headphones, with a few negatives along the way... They appeal to me because are multi-platform headphones, and I do games on PC. They have the ability to connect via Bluetooth, or RF with the dongle, and the connection can be switched quickly with the “Quick Switch Button”. The mic is muted by simply flipping up the mic arm. When these arrived, I fully charged and began setting up. Included is an X Box / USB dongle, a USB charging cable, and a quick start guide. As I went through the set up process, I did encounter some difficulty. I found setting up for PC was not as straight forward as might seem. Nothing was working, and the first app I was guided to download was incorrect. Did a little more research, downloaded the correct app for Stealth 600 – Gen 3 (which is called Swarm II) and got things going. The construction of these is excellent. Thick foam headband pad, ear cups that swivel and lay flat, and nice woven cover on ear pads. However, when wearing, I found the clamping pressure a bit heavy. And the ear pads, although resilient, were just a little too thin. I found my ear lightly touching the inside fabric cover. The controls are on the left side of the headphones, with two volume controls. One is “master” volume, and the other is a game / chat mix level. These two controls are easy to use and work well. There are four other tactile switches that are not easily felt or used. I had to sometimes remove the headphones to be sure which switch I was using. As to sound quality. With the 50MM drivers and 20 – 20Khz response, one can expect powerful lows, and these do not disappoint. I found the mids and highs were very respectable also. Coupled with the built in EQ, gaming will certainly take on a very realistic sound stage. Even though the main intent is toward a gaming headphone, I also tried these on music and movie sound tracks. And I was impressed – these do a fine job, and can certainly be used as an “all around” set of headphones. I recommend, although I did take one star due to the set up, switches, and slightly thin ear pads.....

    Works Great with PS5

I was looking for a new headset for my PS5, and the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gaming headset checked most of the boxes. While there are several things I like about this headset, it does fall short in a few areas for me. First Impressions: The build feels solid without being too heavy. I like that the microphone folds back into the headset, which is nice when you don't want to use the mic but still want to use the headset to game. The instructions were easy to understand and made it simple to figure out how to connect to my PS5. You will need to toggle the switch on the dongle before plugging it in because it is set to Xbox by default. Pros: Connection: Easy as plugging in the USB dongle and turning on the headset. My PS5 recognized it right away, and I was ready to game in a matter of seconds. After using it for about 5-6 hours so far, I have not noticed any connection issues, and my friends online say the quality on their end sounds great. Battery Life: The Stealth 600 boasts a whopping 80 hours, which is awesome. I haven't used it long enough to run through a full battery cycle, but I will never complain about long battery life—especially since I always forget to plug my headsets in. Controls: All of your controls are located on the left ear cup. Each button and wheel is placed in easy-to-reach areas, and everything is large enough to fine-tune your settings on the fly without having to take the headset off. I really liked the idea of the Game/Chat Mix feature, but unfortunately, this does not work when using it with the PS5. You will still need to adjust that in the system menu. Comfort: This will be a pro and a con. I have a larger head, and even at the max adjustable settings, my head feels like it's being squeezed when I am playing for several hours. That being said, it's very comfortable for the first 45 minutes or so. I hope that it will break in as I use it more. I'm certain that if you have an average-sized head, you won't have any issues with comfort. Cons: Superhuman Hearing: Not being able to hear ambient noise is probably the biggest issue I have with the Stealth 600. From the moment you put the headset on, you immediately lose 70% of the ambient noise around you, even when the headset is powered off. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of noise cancellation when gaming with friends because it makes it hard for me to hear myself talk, and I find that very distracting. I was hoping that the Superhuman hearing mode suggested that this headset had some form of transparency mode, but it's actually to help you hear enemy footsteps better. When testing, I didn't notice any considerable difference and would suggest they add a transparency option instead. Comfort: As mentioned above, so far, the headset is really only usable for an hour or so on my head. I hope this will change as it breaks in, but this is a significant con for me. Conclusion: The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 is a great option. It has all of the features you could possibly want and even works cross-platform. I'm very happy with this setup and hope it gets more comfortable as I use it.

Sneaky good headsets from Turtle Beach

Turtle Beach takes us back to a time when wireless gaming headsets sounded great, felt great, worked as expected and most importantly, were affordably priced. Nowadays, it seems impossible to find a decent set of wireless gaming headsets for less than a hundred but the Stealth 600 (v3) hits that mark and punches well above its weight at this price point. First let me cover what I feel is the most impressive features of this modestly priced gaming headset. The sound is LOUD. It’s maybe not the most accurate sounding headset, but it handles gaming sounds perfectly with tons of bass, highlighted vocals, and soaring treble notes. The sound stage is also “airy” and does not sound muffled at all. The other feature that really stood out to me was the Bluetooth connectivity and fast-switching between inputs. While this is not advertised as a Bluetooth “Multi-Point” headset, the feature actually works! Meaning you can connect multiple Bluetooth devices AT THE SAME TIME. The only minor thing to note is the switching between sources is not super intelligent and if both sources are playing, only one will play and the sounds are not muxed together. In order to pair a second device, you must disconnect the first device (not forget) and then put the Stealth into pairing mode by changing input to BT and hold the BT button to put it into pairing mode. The LED light is excellent at visualizing which input and what mode the headset is in, and you get the audio notification as well. So change to BT which turns the LED blue, then hold the BT button and it flashes quickly in blue. Then go to your 2nd device and search for devices to pair with and the Stealth 600 should show up. After pairing a 2nd device, you can then connect the first device simultaneously. Play from one source, stop it. Wait a few seconds, play from second source and audio will stream from second source. Brilliant. I was able to connect to my PC and my iPhone 15 Pro Max simultaneously. Great functionality for those who work from home or want to connect and use on a work laptop, and these headsets while geared towards gamers look good enough to use for work without blinding those on your Teams call. These headsets also have a RF USB dongle that works perfectly with PC, and if you get a call and the headset is paired to your phone via BT, you can use the fast input switching to switch to BT, take the call, then hang up and input goes back to RF. The buttons on the left side work well but they are kinda hard to differentiate when you can’t see them, but over time I should get used to them. The BT key also doubles as a media pause/start/hangup button and there is the quick swap button as mentioned. There’s a volume roller that works well and another roller that can be programmed. The wheels have different treads that give you touch cues to tell them apart. Microphone folds up and down and isn’t super flimsily or adjustable which I like. Sound is decent but not something you will want to do voiceovers with. Overall I really just love the usability of this headset, it’s just fast and responsive and does everything you would expect from a much more expensive BT headset, but it also has the added functionality of RF to any device that has a USB-A port. It powers on fast, detects inputs fast, switches between devices fast. And it sounds great! Build quality is also excellent for such a reasonably priced headset. Nothing cheap or flimsily, memory foam, lay flat ear cups, closed circumaural ear cups but breathable athletic fabric so you don’t feel like you’re in a tunnel and sweating. Great headphones from a great brand!

Battery Life + Compatibility, Good Enough Audio

I needed a wireless headset that would work with both an Xbox and PC. I’ve used Turtle Beach headphones years ago during the xbox 360 years, so I picked up the Turtle Beach Stealth 600. The added connectivity to other devices and long battery life made it stand out. Pros: - Compatibility with different devices and platforms. - 80 Hour Battery Life. - Lightweight. - Ear Cushion fabic. Cons: - Included instructions missing some steps. - Sound quality is only okay. Setup: Even though I picked this up to use with the Xbox and PC, I tried out the phone pairing method. Sad to say, it took me a few mins to realize you had to switch the headphones into Bluetooth mode to pair them. The included instructions did not outline that the headphones needed to switch modes before you could pair using bluetooth. So, if you are wondering why, you cannot find the headphones from a Bluetooth device, try switching the mode to when you hear a “BlueTooth” audio que. This was mostly my fault, as I was pressing buttons when I turned the headset on and when putting them on for the first time. Otherwise, once I had the right mode, connecting was simple. You will need to download the Swarm II app on your phone or install it on your PC/console. For mobile devices, open the app, power on the headphones, and add the device. Then you can access settings such as additional features, mentioned below. If on a PC or Console, make sure the dongle is set to the right mode: USB for PC or XBOX/PS for Console. Plug in the dongle, open the App, and turn on the Stealth 600’s. Then it is about the same regardless of platform. The compatibility of this headset is a huge pro, especially for those with multiple systems or devices. The Swarm II app is available on all platforms, I found the PC version to be the easiest to navigate and connect too. The App provides additional settings to control the volumes, chat mix as there is a game and chat channel, and controls for the Microphone sensitivity and monitoring. The EQ Controls allow you to select pre-sets or make custom EQs, and switch between them on the fly by pressing the “Mode” button. Then you can customize the mapped button functions for the “Mode” and “Chat Mix” scroll wheel. There are also settings for SuperHuman hearing, a signature Turtle Beach mode that helps focus in on specific sounds while gaming like footsteps or shots. Comfort: At only 0.7 lbs, the Stealth 600 Gen 3 are lightweight, and fit well on the head. The headband provides the clamping force for the headset, which wasn’t too much for me and kept them in place on my head, but for those with bigger heads I could see the pressure to be uncomfortable after a while. Luckily, Turtle Beach opted for using an athletic weave fabric for the ear cushions which a breathable and comfortable against the ear over long periods of use. Controls: All buttons are located on the Left earcup, along with the Microphone boom. The flip up to Mute feature is extremely useful on a gaming headset, I’ve had it on many of my work microphones, but this is one of my first gaming headsets with it. From the button up of the earcup is the Power, Mode, USB-C Port, Bluetooth, Quickswitch buttons. The Bluetooth button is a multifunction button used when connected to mobile devices to answer/end calls and control media playback. There are two scroll wheels on the back of the earcup, the bottom one controls the Channel Mix for console or Mic Monitoring for PC, or custom function you select. The top wheel controls the Master Volume. Each wheel has a different tactile feel to make it easy to distinguish between, BUT I still dislike the default functions of the two wheels. I wish I could swap the functions, because I use the Channel mix less than master volume, but my thumb lands on the channel mix every time. It would be nice to be able to customize more than 2 buttons and with other default functions. Performance: The 80-hour battery life is truly massive. I’ve not put in enough hours thus far to fully drain the battery, I’ve only charged it once so far and gotten in at least 40 hours of use over the long weekend and the battery status is at 54%! No need to worry about running out of power in the middle of a long gaming session. The Audio quality is unfortunately only average, even adjusting the EQ settings only helps so much. The sound is clear and crisp, great for hearing all the noises during a firefight or boss battle, but there is no depth or richness to the sound. This is okay for playing video games, but you will notice during the cutscenes or with music, there is just something missing. I got this headset for the ability to play and chat, which it does good with what it has. The Microphone quality is also good, but not great. The settings allow you to tweak the sensitivity and noise gate, and the monitoring allows you to hear yourself to help balance the sound while speaking. But the Microphone sounds tinny on the other end of the calls, this is fine for game chat as the microphone is clear, but for recording or streaming this will stand out in a bad way. The EQ does help bring out your voice more, but the tinny sound is still present. Conclusion: I’m really enjoying the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3’s, the long battery life keeps them ready to go, the multiplatform compatibility allows for use across all the devices, and they’re comfortable to keep on the head for long periods of time. They’re doing everything I wanted them to, without me disliking anything enough to stop using them. That’s worth a recommendation from me. I’d recommend these to anyone who has multiple gaming platforms and who likes to play and chat over concerns for audio quality. These have a good balance of features, quality, and performance for the price point, that makes them a solid option.

To say I've owned a TON of headsets over the years would be a dramatic understatement. Headsets at all price points and capabilities, wired and wireless, you name it, I've had them, each have served their purpose and are either still in use or have been retired for one reason or another. Interestingly, Turtle Beach is not a brand I've had a lot of experience with, so it was good to try these out. Packaging: Fairly vanilla packaging, the headphones are wrapped in a plastic sheath inside the cardboard box with the USB adapter and charging cable. Nothing special here but it gets the job done. Fit and finish: When you first take them out, they feel solid in your hands which is a good thing, but strangely when you put them on they feel a little... cheap, that said they are not super expensive, so that may be why. It's not so bad that I would subtract a star, and honestly, they do feel solid in the hand, so I dont feel like they will fall apart. I'm not entirely sure why this is the case, although I will say that the ear cups do a pretty good job as isolating the sound, and the swing down mic has smooth action and disappears well into the side. The ear cups feel like they may be some sort of memory foam which likely helps with the sound isolation as they mold to your body. Sound: Now the important part. The sound is quite good, no they may not measure up to premium headphones that cost 2-3x as much, but they also dont cost 2-3x as much, that said they do sound great. The response from all levels is good, although I'll say that they do a better job in gaming than they do in music, but that's their target, so at least they've done a good job with that. The USB dongle works with XBox and PC, while they also have bluetooth to work with basically every other platform. Again, their target is gaming, and the battery life is great, so there's no qualms here. Bottom line: If you're in the market for good gaming headphones or want to gift them to a gamer in your life, they are a very solid option without breaking the bank. I easily recommend them.

The sound quality is excellent for gaming consoles and PC and the battery life lets me go for several days before having to charge the headset. The fit can be a bit snug at first, but after a couple days will loosen up to be more comfortable; I've been able to wear it for several hours at a time without issue. I would recommend using the Bluetooth mode for Switch because when I tried connecting the dongle to the switch dock for wireless mode the sound would keep cutting out. One thing I would especially recommend is to always turn on the headset before putting it on because the activation beep and notice will always default to max volume for some reason. The headset will also default to max volume when using with Playstation 4 or 5 but will remember volume level when using with PC in wireless mode or Switch in Bluetooth. Only other downside to the headset is the need for an app to update the firmware, but it does help monitor the charge level and adjust certain features.

I’ve been using the Turtle Beach 600 headset for a few weeks now on Xbox, mostly for Call of Duty, and I’m honestly impressed. The sound quality is excellent. I’m hearing little details in the game I never noticed before. Footsteps and gunshots are easy to pinpoint, which gives a real edge during matches. Setup was a breeze. It connected instantly and now automatically pairs with my Xbox every time I turn it on. The controls are simple and right on the headset, which I love. Muting the mic is as easy as flipping it up, and flipping it down turns it back on. Super convenient. Battery life has been great. I haven’t even had to charge it yet after weeks of use. Comfort is solid too. I’ve worn it for 2–3 hour sessions with no discomfort at all. Honestly, I don’t have any complaints. If it broke tomorrow, I’d buy the same one again.

This headset just upped my gaming to the next level. I tried them on the Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and iPhone and was pleased with the ease of connection across all platforms. Additionally, I found that they are truly designed with gaming in mind. First off, set up is so easy. To connect it to the Xbox or PC, all I have to do is toggle between the Xbox or USB option on the wireless transmitter and plug it in. With the PC, I had to go to my sound settings and select that it uses the Stealth headset. Bluetooth setup is just as easy. With the phone and Nintendo Switch, I just switched the headset to Bluetooth mode and activated pairing mode. It connected in seconds, and I was good to go. It is ideal to get the Swarm II app because it provides the option to update the headset to the latest available firmware. It also provides customization features and provides battery level information. The build and materials are of high quality. It is sturdy and the buttons and dials are well-placed. It is incredibly comfortable considering its weight. I actually forget I am wearing it. To top it off, they provide really good noise cancelation. The headphones can be turned around individually, which helps keep them flat against my clavicle when I take them off and have them around my neck. The sound is the best part. It is akin to having surround sound and it allows for spatial awareness. Playing Battlefield, I was able to hear footsteps clear and crisply, along with the direction they were coming from. The lower bass sounds of explosions and of the dramatic music intensify the gaming experience. I did try it with music on my phone too, and under the right preset the sound is amazing. It even provides a better experience with my Nintendo Switch. I hear sounds and music that I had not heard before, even when using my regular headphones. With all this in mind, I can tell that Turtle Beach really focused on elevating the sounds that are prevalent in gaming beyond all other types. The drop-down mic is another great addition. The mic will mute and unmute according to its position and the way it tucks in is quite low profile it almost seems to disappear. It does not take in too much ambient noises, my mouse and typing clicks are quite muted. One thing I noticed initially is the my voice came out sounding very low and far away. I was able to fix this using the mic settings on the app though. I believe these headsets are well worth the price. They provide great sound, are well-made, comfortable, and they are designed with gaming in mind.

Turtle Beach upped their game with this headset. For the price, it has a nice, simplified design that feels more current and premium than their prior models that I’ve owned. It’s also a lot more straightforward - I much prefer the built in flip down mic that is streamlined into the design in this model. Sound is great for the price. It’s an all-around great headset. __Design__ Looking at design a bit more, it’s clear that Turtle Beach wanted to offer a more modernized design in this headset. The plastic cups and band feel durable and appropriate, while the cushions are well thought out. Memory foam makes them comfortable and soft, but the fabric on the ear cups are also pleasantly soft (despite looking like a rougher weave in photos) They retain a bit of head in the ear cups while wearing, but I found them plenty comfortable for extended use. I also appreciate the easy to clean, soft covering on the head band's cushion. If you’ve owned a headset and use hair gel or anything, you’ll know the importance of easy clean-ability here and this headset doesn’t disappoint. :) Also nice are the big chunky wheels for control volume and chat levels. Their easy to feel for and have a satisfying feel. _Sound_ Sound quality is quite good for the price. At first it felt slightly airy, but after a firmware update (via the app) and a set back to their suggested ‘Signature Sound’ default, sound was great. Playing on Xbox Series X, it’s responsive, balanced, and easy to plug and play. _App_ I found Turtle Beach’s Swarm II app is modern and responsive. Updating my headset’s firmware was super simple and it allows for easy selection of game presets and ‘Superhuman Hearing’ to emphasize sounds that could help you hear coming enemies in games more easily. Overall, this is a great headset. In a market with so many offerings, Turtle Beach really nailed it this time. Really good value for the price.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless headset for Xbox Series X|S gets a solid three stars from me. Right out of the box, the comfort level is genuinely impressive. The earcups are plush and fit nicely around my ears, making those initial gaming sessions a real treat. I appreciate the lightweight design too; it doesn't feel like I've got a brick strapped to my head. Sound quality is good for the price point. I can clearly hear in-game audio, not sure about the mic since I stick to single-player games. Setup was also a breeze – pairing with my Xbox was quick and painless. However, despite the initial comfort, I've found that prolonged use becomes an issue for me, I have never lasted long with over the ear headphones. After about an hour or so, I start to feel some pressure around my ears, leading to discomfort. It's a shame because otherwise, these would be perfect for marathon gaming sessions. Honestly, I can't help but feel that the lack of console Bluetooth directly contributes to headset limitations. It's a bit frustrating that both Xbox and PlayStation insist on their proprietary wireless solutions, supposedly to prevent connection and audio lag issues. In 2025, it feels like we should have the flexibility of Bluetooth for wireless audio, which might allow for more comfortable and versatile headset designs. Ultimately, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 is a good wireless headset with solid sound and initial comfort for Xbox Series X|S owners. If your gaming sessions tend to be shorter, these are a great option. But if you're looking for all-day comfort and you are not a fan of extended over the ear sessions, these fall short.

I had a wired cheap set before I got these headphones, and oh my was the change worth it. I just started playing Fortnite this year and these headphones have made the experience so much better. Plus if I’m in game and someone calls I have my phone hooked to them as well so I can just switch over to my phone without having to remove the headphones.

Quality, price and ease of use. Was not really into wireless headsets because they can be complicated at times with connectivity, these particularly i say are very easy to use between my pc and Xbox and all you have to do is switch the setting on the usb. I barely have connectivity problems maybe 1/8 times it has trouble connecting but nothing a reset of power won’t fix. Sound quality is solid as well

I was in need of a new headset and my coworker recommended I try Turtle Beach. I must say this is probably the best headset I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable and they’re great at canceling background noise so you can hear your movies/games better. The audio input/output when talking to friends is great. You can use them with wifi or bluetooth which is a huge bonus. The usb is compatible with any pc or console and it’s small so it’s not sticking out like a sore thumb. The battery life is great too, I rarely have to charge them. Overall I love these, and I highly recommend them if you’re in need of a new headset!

Sound good and are comfortable. Mic works well but watch its not to low. Flip to mute is nice. I know you can do it with a keystroke if you program it but its just nice to have that physical confirmation its off.

Turtle Beach headphones are the way to go and you can't beat this sound and comfortability. The battery life is also crazy long! My son and I share them and have yet to run into a time where one of us uses the last of the battery. The sound is awesome as well, perfect for the best gaming needed.
