Opening the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max Multiplatform Gaming Wireless Headset, I find the headset, a USB/A wireless transmitter, a USB/A to USB/C charging cable, a sticker, and a user’s guide. First off, like other Turtle Beach headsets. I like the adjustable size. I have a rather large cranium and even on the last setting, sometimes things are just a bit uncomfortable, but not these or other Turtle Beach units. I have them on comfortably and with additional clicks left. They also look very well constructed and don’t feel cheap in my hands. The mic is stashed nicely in the left ear pod and has a couple of sound clicks when putting it in use. When not in use, it tucks in completely except for the tip which protrudes just enough to get a finger to pull on it to make it easy to open. I didn’t realize it, but after reading the back of the box (yeah, guys don’t read instructions) the headset is glasses-friendly. I wear a pair of prescription glasses with blue blockers, and I didn’t even notice how well they stayed in place with the headset on. Nice! For the first use, I plugged the USB transmitter into my PC and fired up some music. I was getting some stuttering or cut-outs, so I referred to the guide (yup, that problem again, lol) and saw that I needed to unwrap the transmitter because there is a switch for PC and PS4. Not sure why, but it seemed to help the issue. I still had some cut-out, but it’s probably just placement. I have a lot of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth around my desk. After moving a few things around, I was getting decent playback. Next, it’s off to my gaming PC and see how it performs. Hang tight. So, I played about an hour of N4S Most Wanted and it did the same thing as the music. For the first few minutes, the headset cut out and stuttered, then after connecting Bluetooth through Windows, it seemed to go away. I do have another Turtle Beach wireless headset in the office, so maybe it was trying both, going back and forth…Not sure. Anyway, once it was going, it was flawless. I was immersed in the game and the headset wasn’t bothersome. It felt good and I didn’t even think about it. Just racing and running from a ton of police cars. First time I had SUV’s and Corvettes after me. I don’t use my PlayStation much anymore, but I tested it out and it worked as it should. I had to go into settings and change the output to the Turtle Beach headset, but that wasn’t a big deal. It would be nice if it just switched itself, but again, no biggie. I then went to the Turtle Beach website and downloaded the Audio Hub software. It installed on my PC and then wanted an update, so I basically installed it twice. I then put the Bluetooth dongle in and turned on the headset. The app asked me to connect the headset via the power/charging cable. I did that and it said I have the latest updates, so that was for not. I did so to see if an update might fix those dropouts/cut-offs and stuttering I experience when I first connected. There are a few more apps for download, but they are for other headsets and not the Stealth 700 Gen Max. Finally, except for the connection issues I have when I first connect, I really enjoy the headphones. They are built well, sound great, and fit my head. I still believe there’s some interference in my office that’s causing the issue and I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon enough. I’d have no problem recommending these to my friends as I’m sure they’d enjoy them as much as I do.

If you are into gaming, then I am sure you have seen or may have even tried a Turtle Beach headset. My first Turtle beach headset was a wired Call of Duty headset for the PS4. I always thought that Turtle Beach made a solid headset. With this being my fourth Turtle Beach headset, I have seen nothing to change my opinion. Many people wonder how long it takes out of the box until you are in action. The answer here is not long at all. This headset is a wireless unit so all you need to do is take the dongle and slide the side switch to PC or PS depending on what you are using this headset with. Next put the dongle in a USB port on the PC or PS4/PS5, and the headset does the rest. If you are using this with a PS system, there are no extra downloads. The software recognizes the headset right away. You will connect before FortNite does. If you had the Stealth 600 model, there was some lag between when you powered on the headset and when the PS system paired. This has been fixed with the 700. Paring only takes a couple of seconds. Sound quality is fantastic for this headset. In fact, I think this is the best sounding Turtle Beach I have had. With the Sony 3D sound for PS5, this headset gets after it. I mostly used it with gaming, but you could use it to watch you favorite video as well, and it will sound amazing. If you are gaming with teammates, just flip down the mic, and you can talk with your friends. The nice part of this headset is there are separate volume controls for the game and for the chat. This makes it nice to find that sweet spot you want. Also, you can hear yourself speak in the headset. I like headsets that do this, so this was is an extra bonus. As far as battery life goes, I have never had a headset last longer. Most headsets I must charge every few nights. I have gone 10 days without charging even with playing a couple hours a night with friends. This battery claims to last 40 hours. I don’t know if it is that long, but it sure feels like that is right. If I do have a complaint on this headset, it has to do with comfort. This is an over-the-ear headset, and as such, can feel a little tight after a couple of hours. There is a break in period, but even then, it can feel tight after a couple of hours. Also, I don’t think I have big ear, but the earmuffs are not very big and can press your ears adding to the discomfort. Turtle Beach claims that they have made these glasses friendly as well. While there is a bit of softening near where glasses go, they still will press in to add to the discomfort. The last part is with the tight fit, they can start to make your ears feel hot after a while. With that said though, these seem to be common problems with most over-the-ear headsets. I thought I should mention those though for those wondering. In the end, Turtle Beach has improved on their headset line with the Stealth 700 Gen 2. The battery life is amazing, and this is the best sounding Turtle Beach headset I have come across. I would recommend this headset to people. I do not think you will be disappointed.

For this price range it's very good. I used it for the PS5 and turned on 3d audio on the PS5. It sounds very good and they are super comfortable. I did not have sweaty ears after using them for a few hours . My head didn't hurt at all. They fit perfect, no pressure on the side of my head unlike some other headphones that I have used. They are glasses friendly i don't use prescription glasses but i did use my shaded to see if it was true. The foam is very soft almost pillow like from the top of the head i didn't get the dent like some headphones have done before. Turtle beach did this right. Now on the PS5 i did have echoing on my friends side but i fixed this issue by lowering the mic volume in the console itself. The mic itself is nice and can move a little closer to the face. The only thing is that your voice isn't as crisp as it should and if you have a fan on you will hear it a little bit even after using the app to surprise background noise. I wish the mic had a foam on it maybe that would 100% stop the fan noise. I was playing the call of duty MW2 beta and the game sounds good but i still needed to hear the footsteps a little better . No matter what i did something would not sound great even after using turtle beach super human hearing the other sounds got muffled a little bit. For the other games that aren't shooters this made the game sound better. Updating the headset you need the USB c on the headset and the dongle both connected to your computer. I kinda hate this as my laptop has only 2 USB ports .i wish they would just run everything through the dongle or even with the app. The headset has Bluetooth they can pass the update through that. So no updates to the headset with the app. But with Bluetooth i can get my phone calls in and hear my notification sounds while still playing the game i do love this. The app itself you can modify sound and use mic monitoring and other settings but you are limited to the EQ . Maybe a future update will let you adjust the headset EQ better. I did have issues when I would put the mic up to mute and pull down to talk it would stay on mute.

Over the years I've owned a number of wireless headphones, gaming headphones as it were, that lean towards the use with console, PC, or both, with varying degrees of success. In this instance, we are met with the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 Max, which, I have to say, is a great addition to the market. To start, as these are marketed directly at Sony Playstation owners, the box art is leaning towards the blue, white and black colors that are the trademark colors of the Playstation and associated gear. This isn't a negative, but just a point of note, once compared with the alternative geared towards XBox owners. Turtle Beach has offerings in both markets, and both work with the consoles and with PCs through a simple flip of a switch on the USB dongle. When unpacking the headset, the packaging is relatively no-frills, the headset is in a sleeve and contains the accessories required for use (in this case, the USB dongle). I popped the dongle into my Playstation and way I went. There's no real 'set up' when using them with the playstation, it's truly a 'plug and play' experience, I connected them and they worked. The headphones themselves are incredibly comfortable, the padding on the ear cups is something else, extremely soft. Loading up COD I was immediately met with a depth of sound field, which is not a surprise because Turtle Beach is known for their audio. When playing on the battlefield and talking with my teammates, it's clear, full sounding and everyone comes through well. To use the mic you flip it down, to mute it, you flip it up. It's a very nice thing that the mic mostly conceals in the ear cup, as most headset offerings they are left to just stick out, looking like you've grown an antenna from the side of your head. All in all these are really excellent headphones. I have one minor gripe that the charging is USB-C rather than coming with a cradle at this price point, but honestly it's a small gripe for the quality of the headphones. I would readily recommend them to anyone.

    Turtle Beach Delivers Again

I'm a long time Turtle Beach customer. I've had four different sets of headphones over the years, from way back with the X41 and their replacement the X42 headphones. These Stealth 700 Gen 2 headphones deliver exactly what you expect from Turtle Beach. I was a bit bummed to read that the PS5 doesn't natively support bluetooth headphones, kinda crummy for the price point if you ask me. So I rely on Turtle Beach then to deliver the goods. Setup is simple, mine came fully charged so all I needed to do was plug in the dongle (I used the back port) and pair the headphones. Pairing took seconds, and they connect quickly every time I turn on my PS5, I'm happy about that. USB-C charging is great as well, I can use the same cable for the controller and the headset, very convenient. Audio quality is excellent, music sound crisp and clean. I was genuinely shocked at the bass response of this headset. Play No Mans Sky when hearing space ships take off, I actually had to pop the headphones off because I thought it was an annoying neighbor with a bangin' stereo. Nope, it was the headphones, that got a "wow" out of me. I love the quick mute mic boom, super convenience to just flick it up out of the way to instantly mute your self. I'm a huge fan of mic feedback, and these have a separate volume knob for that. That means I won't be yelling into the mic since now I know how loud I'm talking. They're very comfortable. I played 2-3 hours the first night, and did not experience any ear fatigue at all. That's a huge bonus for weekend gaming binges. I haven't yet used the app to modify the settings, I'm really happy with it out of the box, but you may want to tweak if yo play FPS games and want louder footsteps. I really only play single player games so it isn't a big deal to me. Overall, you can't go wrong. The price is a little steep, but you get a fantastic sounding headset with some clever features and excellent quality. You can't ever go wrong with Turtle Beach.

We appreciate your feedback! We get very few complaints about sizing or comfort issues. Due to the wide variations in head sizes and shapes, it's not possible to design a one-size-fits-all headset that will fit absolutely 100% of all users. However, we consistently provide a comfortable fit for the overwhelming majority of our customers. Please bear in mind that your headset will break in over time, which should result in a better fit after you've used it for a while. TurtleBeach
