The Stealth gen 2 has stylish design and solid build quality. Construction feels durable although I can hear slight plastic flexing in the left cup whenever I move facial muscles. The mic swings up into a cleverly designed cavity that is well integrated with the body. Sometimes the stored mic feels a little too well integrated and is tricky for me to locate by feel. Lowering or raising the mic activates and disables muting. The Stealth fits my head a little more snug than my other headsets but isn’t overly tight or restrictive. They are comfortable and consistently remain so even throughout extended gaming sessions. The gel cooled memory foam cups do not get uncomfortably warm nor cause my ears to sweat. Cup and headband padding are sufficiently soft and don’t cause any pressure pain or discomfort during lengthy wear periods. I can also wear my prescription eyeglasses or Gunnar gaming glasses comfortably along with the headset which can also be adjusted to accommodate different frame sizes and thickness. Battery life is good and I get several days of 4+ hours cumulative gaming times between charges. Turtle Beach does not recommend using Bluetooth on non-mobile devices. I quickly found out why when I tested the Stealth paired to my PC via Bluetooth. It paired quickly and easily right out the box but Bluetooth performance was poor. I experienced laggy frame rates and a hard in-game crash while playing Forza Horizon 5 with the headphones and an Xbox wireless controller both connected via Bluetooth. Game performance and stability improved dramatically when I switched to the USB connection using the included receiver. I suspect the problem may have been caused at least in part by me connecting to both available Stealth Bluetooth profiles. I should have only connected to the audio profile. The low energy profile is for file transfers only but the included instructions fail to mention this very important detail and it isn’t immediately obvious during pairing. I found out about it in the online Turtle Beach KB. I saw no further performance issues in Forza Horizon 5, Forza Horizon 4 and Back 4 Blood after switching to USB. The USB receiver has a toggle switch for Xbox or USB mode. It also has a status LED that indicates pairing and mic status. The LED flashes red when the mic is muted and flashes green when the headset isn’t paired. It stays a solid green when the headset is paired and the mic is active. USB connectivity improved gaming performance but it also introduced a moderately significant sound issue. The headset volume control completely overrides PC volume control when connected via USB. As a result, volume can only be controlled from the headset controls. For example, if the headset volume is set to maximum, I cannot lower the volume using my keyboard volume rocker or Windows desktop volume controls. Even muting the volume on my PC had no effect on headset volume. This creates a major inconvenience for me because the keyboard rocker dial on is much faster and easier to use than the cup mounted headset volume controls. Curiously, when the headset was connected to PC via the unsupported Bluetooth, the keyboard rocker and desktop volume controls both worked correctly along with the headset controls. Aside from the above noted performance issues, the only other issue with Bluetooth is that the volume is noticeably lower than it is through USB. Sound quality and the superhuman hearing feature are both okay but unless the volume is increased to tinnitus inducing levels, it’s hard to get fully immersed in gaming over the roar of my PC fans. Active or better passive noise cancellation definitely would have improved sound quality. I was actually surprised by how much fan noise I could hear even at higher volumes. When I’m using another comparably priced headset, I cannot hear the fans at all, even at full speed in turbo mode. This helps me feel totally immersed in the gaming environment. The other headset isn’t utilizing ANC nor any other noteworthy advantages over this set. They simply do a better job of blocking out external noise through excellent passive noise cancellation. This headset don’t provide the same amount of sound isolation or immersion. Ambient gaming effects sound more artificial on this headset in direct comparison. That doesn’t mean the Stealth sounds bad, just less realistic. When I wear my other headset, I occasionally catch myself looking around my room to identify the source of realistic ambient sounds. If I have a window open while birds are chirping in the game, it sounds like it’s actually coming from outside the window. I don’t quite get that same hyper-realistic level of immersion from this headset. Mic quality sounds good both when recording to PC and during in-game chat. Online friends say they can hear me clearly and at good volume during multiplayer gaming. Playback of recorded voice clips are clear and distortion-free. The mic also does a good job if isolating the speaker’s voice from background noise. I connected the Stealth to my smartphone via Bluetooth to test mobile device connectivity and music playback performance. Music sounds good across most genres. The Stealth has a warm sound profile with nicely balanced high, mid and low notes. Bass is sufficient without feeling under or overwhelming. The Stealth can handle most songs but I start to hear slight distortion when playing songs with really deep sub-bass. In fairness, only my extra-bass headphones tend to handle really deep bass without noticeable distortion. Most gaming headsets have a certain threshold before deep bass becomes too powerful and the Stealth actually has a higher tolerance than all but one of my other headsets. Like my experience on PC, Bluetooth connectivity is somewhat disappointing on mobile devices as well. I experience occasional drop outs when listening to music. The severity ranged from barely noticeable inconsistent volume levels to quite noticeable full drops. It occurs both with movement or if I remain stationary and is frequent enough to impact the enjoyment of music listening. My overall impression of the Stealth gen 2 is mixed. I like the headset but some of the cons give me pause. On the plus side, it has decent sound, stylish solid construction, a comfortable snug fit, good battery life and good multi-platform compatibility. The cons include shaky Bluetooth stability on both PC and mobile devices, volume control issues with USB on PC, and a less immersive experience than similar rival headsets due to the amount of external sound that bleeds through the cups. I have an Xbox Series X but primarily game on PC, so this review is coming strictly from a PC gamer perspective. The issues I observed may or may not exist on Xbox but I have no intention of using any headset with my Xbox because none match the house shaking, ultra-realistic environmental surround sound of my 7.1 THX home entertainment surround sound system. One of the perks of console gaming. I hope most, or even all of these issues will be addressed in a firmware update because the Stealth is otherwise a solid, attractive and well designed headset.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 series wireless headphones are a great sounding, long lasting, snug fitting headset, that works with many devices and can be a real option for your many devices. The supple memory foam ear cups are incredibly soft and have plenty of cushion that is gel infused and cooling. These are glasses friendly, and you can pull the ear cups off and adjust it for thicker glasses if you have them. There is a groove that is formed with the adjustment strap, so if your glasses frames fit in those grooves then it offers a great fit, but I wasn’t always successful on the first try of putting these on so it took some time before I was able to get my frames to fit in the grooves. Minor annoyance, but they still felt good on my head despite my inability to hit the glasses sweet spot on the first try. The ear cans have the ability to lay flat so you can easily pull these off your head and hang around your neck with the cans laying flat against your upper shoulders and it feels comfortable. These feel a little on the hefty side and well built, there is a metal band in the head band that helps with the premium feel of these headphones. The 50MM speakers provide clear loud sound with punchy bass and crisp highs. There are plenty of buttons on these headphones with a mode button to toggle superhuman on and off, power button, and BT button. The master volume and chat volume button have little protective bumps on them which keep you from accidently adjusting the volume when you remove the headphones. Your own voice can be heard if you crank up the chat volume and have the microphone on. I like that feature so I don’t feel like I am screaming, and I find it easier to self-regulate my loudness. One of my favorite features is the ability for these to stream two sources at the same time. For example, I can pair it with my phone and talk on the phone while I am gaming via the USB connector dongle. Battery life has been nothing short of phenomenal at this point. It’s rated at 40 hours, and I am sure it will easily reach that mark. Advanced features can be managed via the Audio Hub app by Turtle Beach. There is also a Turtle Beach windows app that you can use to update the firmware, but at the time of me writing this (5/22) there was no update available. Gripes: I only had a few, first the connection to the PC seems to drop occasionally and crackle up a bit at times. It doesn’t happen a lot, but I am sure a firmware update will address this later. My next gripe is every time I power it on and connect to the PC, it powers off after it goes thru the start up and says its connected. I just must power it on again and it will stay on, again, another thing that may be fixed later. Another minor annoyance is having to reseat the USB adapter for windows to detect my headphones. Not a big deal, but it does happen once in a while. Other than those little issues, these headphones preform very well and last a very long time.

I finally purchased an Xbox Series X last year and I was in the market for a gaming headset. I always preferred Astro for their superior audio quality, competitive gaming EQs, and build quality (previously owned a pair of A50s and A40 TR). Given that the current generation consoles lack optical connections I was quite dubious of all the current options. I finally decided to give TB a chance due to the positive reviews I found online, the amazing battery life that is advertised, 50mm drivers, and support for Dolby Atmos. I do not regret my decision. The audio quality on these is spectacular. I mostly play first person shooters such as Destiny, Battlefield, and COD so I want an audio profile that will let me pinpoint enemies while still providing an immersive experience. The uncompressed stereo option through Xbox audio settings and TB Signature Sound delivers exactly what I was looking for. The signature sound profile offers great bass, balanced mid-tones, and sharp treble for those finer details such as footsteps and ambient noises from the game environment. Even with uncompressed stereo and signature sound EQ they provide fantastic positional audio. If you purchase Dolby Atmos there is a slight enhance in the positional profile to give you more of an edge in games that support Dolby Atmos such as COD and BF, but even without Dolby software they’re still great. The headphones are very comfortable and the nifty feature for glasses is perfect since I wear glasses. I would say that the clamp is a bit on the stronger side compared to Astros and they do take some time to ‘break in’ and get used to. The ear cups are very comfortable and do provide a fair amount of noice cancellation. Sometimes I game for as long as 8-10 hours and feel no fatigue from wearing these. They can get loud if you play at max volume and in certain loud games you’ll definitely want to take a break after 3-5 hours. The downside with these headphones is the build, they’re made of hard plastic so if you dropped them expect damage. My headset chipped and I never dropped them. Sometimes pairing them can be a pain, and updating the firmware is pretty much useless if you don’t own a windows machine (current firmware updates via Mac is bugged). The app is great for tuning and configuring the headphone buttons to your liking. Having a dedicated adjuster for chat volume is nice and being able to connect to your phone and listen to music while you play great. The audio quality for music is very impressive. The range however is quite bad, don’t expect to leave into another room and still remain connected without any interruptions. Nonetheless they serve their purpose. I am super happy with the purchase and I would recommend this to anyone on any platform.

Turtlebeach has been a reliable headset in the past for me, I had used the Stealth 420X for quite some time. I was looking at something comparable and these happen to be a few generations newer in the same line. The headset itself is comfortable, you got a nice plush foam pad that side against your head, the headphones fit around the ear, the glasses friendly feature is pretty cool and adjustable depending on the thickness of the arm on your glasses. Being that this headset is universal is awesome, Xbox has it's on little position on the USB stick, everything else you would use USB mode to communicate wirelessly. I do pair this to my phone so I can easily listen to music while I play some games. The sound itself is really good on the headset, I usually play without the superhuman hearing, most of my online play is in Apex at the moment, being that it's currently Storm Point the water tends to get picked up quite a bit if in proximity, but you do hear things louder that is at a distance. Once the map rotation starts next week I will have to give it a go. But overall I can't complain about the sound of this headset, I am typically happy with the Turtle Beach audio quality and sure other may give more specifics, but I do like it on Bass and Treble Boost depending on the game I am playing. You can easily toggle the headset mode button and wheel in the app to your personal preference. I do keep Superhuman hearing on my Mode button (To continue trying it out) and have my wheel for Chat volume. When checking for updates on your computer, you will plug the USB adapter into your PC and plug the headset in using a USB-A to USB-C cable. My headset was up to date. The one gripe I have at the moment is that the Mic is really sensitive at this time, even with the Mic Noise Gate on. I've had it where friends I have been playing with sound like my kids in the kitchen, while I am in the living room, sound like they're wearing the headset (that's how clear they were). I hope with a future update Turtle Beach adjusts the Mic to stop this in the future, I've seen posts that a previous headset in the same line had a similar issue and that they updated it to fix it, so likely just a matter of time. Overall this is a great sounding, multi-platform headset that has multiple deatils aimed for comfort for long gaming sessions, I hope in time they patch it to fix the mic sensativity and then it will earn that last star from me!

Great headset, stays charged for a long time and connects easily. Decent noise canceling as well and super comfortable and form fitting. No discomfort from hours of gameplay. Great sound quality. Only qualm is sometimes when connecting it can have a weird noise in relation to game and voice chat, just have to turn it back off and then back on again. It is compatible with my gaming laptop, PS5 and Xbox one. Worth the price, especially in comparison to other gaming headsets

The good: Sound quality is better than my older version. Super comfortable on the ears Build quality incorporates a metal frame which stabilizes and supports the actual ear pieces (which was why I needed a new pair, because the plastic broke) Volume control is a huge upgrade, especially in placement. The not great: It does sometimes lose connection and needs to be turned off then on again. Not terrible, but it does happen. My absolute favorite part: They have an audio announcement stating the battery life when you turn the headphones on. This feature is something that I never thought I’d care about, but it really is so simple and literally my favorite feature. I have read some reviews about them holding a stable connection. Mine, when paired, have never lost signal. I do play on Xbox series X, so perhaps that could be why they are stable. Not sure about how well they would be for other consoles or computers.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max This the 3 pair of turtle beach headphones i have had. All have been different models from the lower end to the more expensive. They all have the same great sound quality. This has to be one of the better why one of the better it seems like the SUPER HUMAN HEAR wasn't like the last pair i had that i no longer use they are great. I love how simple they are to set up with the XBOX just plug in the USB and they are connected. The light on the USB will show up Red then go Green when connected. The only bad thing about that is it sticks out a little to far for my liking. The Cushion on the headset say they are cooling i wore them for about 6hrs and didn't feel any heat around my ears. The buttons and are easy to function and easy to remember what they do the last brand i had to keep looking at them to make sure i was touching the correct button. I like how the mic comes down and folds away it doesn't stick out very far. all the players said i sounded a lot better then the one i was using before. The volume roller is nice and you can feel a little click in it so you know you are turning it up or down. It does have separate controls for the game audio and chat. The quality of these seem to be very well built and are strong. They don't feel like they are made of plastic. The battery is to last up to 40hrs that's a lot of playing time. The 1 problem that i have is i wear a L/XL hat and they are a little snug around my head. They ear pieces do pull down the headphones don't spread out. That would be nice due to the fact that they make one size fits all on headphone. Not just gaming headphones. But that the only bad thing i have with them. I hope to use these for a very long time. I have enjoyed all of my turtle beach headphone when i had them.

They need to finally make a set with aluminum hinges and swivels, bought in July normal weekly use on off the head and the microphone side completely worn out and broke completely off. I tried to jb weld it back on and it broke again. They need to spend some more money on material and give us a premium option instead of this cheap plastic garbage.

Overall good headset. 40+ hours of battery, quick charger, Bluetooth as well as dongle (which is a nice option). I really love the mic and its flip-up to mute feature (this is extremely handy and convenient. I have used this on my gaming PC via Xbox remote play and no issues or complaints from teammates regarding the mic clarity. Same goes when I used the headset on my actual series X. Sound wise, its superb. Not too much base, but enough to feel fully emersed in the games you are playing. It does have a massive 50mm driver which is give these the clarity and punch needed in gaming, as well as create an excellent music listening experience. I will say, it took me a few minutes to find the correct fit for my head since intially, they were hurting my ears when I wore them. But, after finding the most comfortable fit for my head and ears, they were comfortable to use for long gaming sessions. With the 700 Gen 2 MAX, you are getting a premium quality and sound headset for a non premium price.

Great audio. However the range is less than my Turtle Beech 420x had. I bought a 6 ft usb 3.0 male to female cord and problem solved. The headphones have metal sides/slidez. So should last for many years. It hugs your head tightly so no worry of sliding off. May even keep your warm outside in the winter hahaha. I'm happy with my purchase. A five star product if the range was the same as my old ones. But was easily fixed with an 6ft usb extension

Coming from owning the V1 I was excited to see some connectivity improvements, thats what drew me to the purchase. The extended battery life was just a bonus to me. While my last pair had broken at the left earpiece I was able to glue it back together with no issues. I did not NEED to get the V2 but the cut in/ cut out of the V1 drove me crazy. The Good -Improved connectivity (The audio clicking is by no means non existent but it is more manageable. My V1 used to cut in and out for minutes and sometime completely disconnecting. The V2 has never cut completely out but there is still a slight crackle at times but you can still hear and understand if someone is speeking.) -Longer Battery Life ( I hate charging my headset so it still feels the same as V1. Maybe less charging in-between use but you still have to charge it. If 4-5hrs of use a day id say a it needs a charge once a week.) -Audio Clarity and mic (I love the sound this headset gives out. Its crisp and clear with just the right amount of kick. With the price range of this true wireless headset id say its a top pick for me. When speaking your voice is very crisp.) The Bad -Needs The Use of USB (There is a thumb drive usb that needs to be plugged into a usb port. My xbox sits on a shelf just under the tv and the drive has a blinking light on it to represent muted/not muted changing from red to green. Can be a bit annoying at times but also occasionally helpful. -Fitment (Gotta big head and they will be snug for the duration of what I feel like a long break-in period) -Audio controls (The audio volume control knobs on my set are very loosie goosie and if I even rest my head back it will sometimes ramp up or down the volume) I give it 4 stars just because its not perfect. I personally would just love a wireless headset with no crackle/cutting out in this price range. Its it what it is and while its not perfect I would recommend this headset to anyone in the market of wireless.

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 is Turtle Beach’s premium headset replacing the first generation 700. First, it is a Bluetooth gaming headset which is not common. You can either connect to your PC straight or use the Bluetooth adaptor for gaming consoles giving you almost zero latency which is not yet common today. Its build quality is topnotch which is something you would also find in other audio headphones. And while the headset itself is made of plastic, it doesn’t not feel cheap. It has faux leather for the headband cushion and the ear cups. The ear cups also have memory foam and which gives you a comfortable fit while the headband has a tight grip. Audio quality is top notch since details in gaming can be heard distinctly. Also, this headset boasts of good audio for music as it has a punchy bass sound while giving clarity. A retractable mic is found on the left side and mic quality is good even for Zoom calls. One thing to note is that if the mic is retracted, the mic is muted. Also, it has a battery life of forty hours which is incredible. Seldom can you find audio to be that long even in the music only headsets. This is comparable to the new TWS earbuds performance. However, Bluetooth connectivity is a bit spotty. And here is my main gripe about this headset. Pairing is not intuitive and often I would experience disconnections. Also, I have downloaded the app for PC and for some reason I could not enable to connect the headset with my pc. I even downloaded the Windows driver. This is quite disappointing since I could not configure the headset using the app for Windows. I could however download and use the app with my iPhone. The difficulty in connecting via Bluetooth with this headset is really frustrating for me as it limits its functionality. I am hoping if Turtle Beach would realease a firmware or an app update or maybe even both. But in the meantime, I would refrain recommending this headset until such fixes are made. And one more thing to note is that, Turtle Beach would make Bluetooth pairing a much simpler process. Getting this headset has its nuances too.

      UPDATE 6/17:

Good morning! Please ensure that your headset & its USB transmitter have been updated to the newest firmware available for it via the Audio Hub for Windows or MacOS. This new firmware should get your headset up and running properly, improving its overall volume levels, Bluetooth pairing process, & connectivity to its transmitter.

If you encounter an inconvenience with the new firmware, please be sure to let our team know using the contact methods listed below in our original comment.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about the difficulty you encountered when pairing the headset's Bluetooth. Our Support Team would be happy to look in to that further for you, and can also look in to why the headset was not recognized by the desktop Audio Hub. As a heads up; this model headset does not have any sort of firmware updates available for it at the moment. That team can be reached right from the support section of the Turtle Beach website.

The team can also be contacted via Live Chat between 9:30 AM EDT and 4:30 PM EDT from Monday through Friday. That's available directly on the main Turtle Beach website. Keep an eye on the lower right hand corner of your browser window for the live chat icon when filling out the form or visiting another page on our site.

Thank you kindly and have a great day! TurtleBeach

When I first got into gaming in 2005 Turtle Beach was the first gaming headset I tried, back then there wasn’t as many options as today. The last time I used a set of Turtle Beach headphones was probably 2011 and after using the 700s Turtle Beach is well positioned against the competition. The headset feels well made which back in the day would have been a criticism I had for my originals. The ear cups are large and comfortable and the soft headband provides a very comfortable fit for extended gaming sessions. The aerofit gel infused ear cups are the real deal and not some marketing hype, after using them for 3 hours straight my ears never got hot or sweaty. I have a large to X-Large head and the headset is very comfortable for me. Setup is like others, plug in the usb dongle and the headset is connected, the usb dongle has a switch for Xbox or usb. Usb mode is used for everything other than an Xbox. Having Bluetooth built in gives it the ability to be used with devices such as phones or tablets. Two big features though for this headset is the app and the separate chat and game volume controls. The separate game and chat volume controls is something I completely forgot Turtle Beach offered, none of the other brand of gaming headsets I have offer that. The real star though is the app, it allows you to customize the headphones on the fly while you’re using them connected to you’re console or other device. While gaming on my PS5 I decided to download the app on my iPhone and to my surprise I was able to connect to the headset and change and customize all of the controls for the headset. There was no setup process either, the app automatically detected and connected to the headphones. The app shows you everything about the headphones including the battery life. Turtle beach claims 40 hours and that’s not hard to believe as after 3 hours of use the app still showed 100% battery life. The 700s offer a lot for the money, separate game and chat volume, excellent battery life and a top notch app to control it all.

I haven’t had a problem with the Turtle Beach products I have used them since Xbox 360 But these are just awesome I mean so comfortable and easy to use and the sound quality is perfect in my opinion. Battery life is great I mean I don’t have a complaint I play CoD online and never have a problem and my friends I even turned them on to this headset and we all play together and enjoy. Definitely worth the money get you one and enjoy

A great headset for console gaming and every feature you will ever need especially for a headset in this price range sub $200. I only used these for a couple weeks but they performed great and compared to the Astro A30 there is no comparison IMO. From the sound quality, comfort, and customization with the App they are just great!! The only gripe and the reason i wound up taking them back was the connection interruptions. On Xbox i would get just random episodes of the sound cutting out. It wasnt terrible but it bothered me enough to just go back to my wired Turtle Beach Atlas Pros. If they have fixed that or came out with a firmware update then these are worth every dollar! Again, this was just with the headset I had. The one you get may not have the same issue. This is a 5 star headset that unfortunately gets a 4 because of 1 flaw.
