    Lost Money! NO HELP in Replacing. Extra warranty

    Would of been a GREAT Gaming headset but it didn’t take long at all for it to easily crack and break when my 15 year old son (his birthday present) was putting it on for a gaming session with his friends. I tried everything from contacting Best Buy to the company and neither 1 would do anything at all. I was therefore out a few hundred dollars even though I bought the plan for it as well.

    After updating the software when I first purchased, all of the control buttons/wheels on the headset were not working. I tried trouble shooting the issues but the app would not save the settings to the headset.

    The first thing I noticed about the the Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max’s is how well constructed they feel. I’ve had Turtle Beach headphones in the past and they can sometimes be inconsistent with their build quality, sometimes feeling light and cheap even on higher end models. These feel wonderful. While mostly plastic, they are nice and dense and feel very durable. The headband is metal and has a very nice sturdy feel to the sizing movements, full of resistance which I like. The controls are fitted on the left earcup, basically volume and chat levels, on/off, sound modes and Bluetooth. One nuisance I felt with the controls is the on/off button is placed between the mode and Bluetooth button, so for me it led to accidently button pushes of either, when trying for the power button. The ear cups are massive memory foam pads that offer a ton of cushioning. They do have stitching on the inside that for me, was right where the pad sat over my ears, so for the first couple wears, the stitching was noticeable against my skin and sort of annoying, but now that has faded away. They also say the ear cups are designed for glasses wearers and while true, they have some features that might help glasses wearers, I wear glasses and these feel about the same as any other headphones when it comes to alleviating the presume of the cups on the glasses. The headband is nicely padded, so between that and the ear cups, comfort is definitely at the forefront of these. While they do feel nice and sturdy and dense, with a little bit of heft to them, they so far have not bothered me for longer wear periods, I’ve not experienced any headset fatigue from these. The mic boom is very sturdy and folds nicely into the mold of the left earcup. Fully open your mic is on, and half open it auto mutes which is nice. You also get a visual cue from the USB dongle with a red mute light if you have visibility to it. There is not much travel in the mic boom, basically just straight open, with a very small amount of tilt inwards, but not much. But the mic quality is very good. The sound quality is very nice. They support Stereo, Windows Sonic, Dolby DTS and Atmos with compatible apps and source content. The soundscape to me was very immersing. I’m not a fan of Turtle Beach’s SuperHuman hearing. I feel that setting creates a very tinny soundscape and volumes usually need to be high to notice a real difference, so I leave that setting turned off. With the companion app, you can access the audio settings and fine tune a moderate level of adjustment. You have the option to select four different preset sound modes or customize the sound with a personalized setting. You also have the options to configure a few mic options, including a noise gate, and the chat wheel and mode buttons are mappable to a couple different settings. I like a more bass heavy sound, without losing the high end in the mix, so I customize a profile to dial that in. I found overall the sound is fantastic. Very rich and immersive for most tones. When the bass gets really heavy in the mix, they can sort of clip out a bit. I also noticed some slight audio static every now and then, more than likely from the connection between the headset and the USB dongle. Nothing too major, and random and rare enough to never take me out of a game or anything, but it does pop up from time to time. I’ve used these with both my Xbox Series X and my PC and mobile devices. The USB dongle has a switch you flip between Xbox or PC. In either case, the device recognized the headset immediately. I could not discern any noticeable lag in the audio at all. Games and movies/shows all sounded great. Games sound slightly better as expected, but I also used these for video watching and was pleasantly surprised. And I love that you can also connect a Bluetooth device to the headset while using the dongle. So you can use them for mobile calls while gaming, streaming audio content while gaming, etc. Overall this headset is a great performer!

    Was bricked upon arrival. Our second headset is now bricked as well, we have only had it for a year. They are very comfortable, but not worth the investment due to constant replacement.

    Worked for awhile then after the product warranty mark couple months past stopped working and won’t connect done everything to troubleshoot it.

    This is a nice headset, when they work. The sound at times is really low so you need to turn them off and back on several times till they’re full volume. They were updated to latest firmware and turtle beach doesn’t respond other than their generic email

    Upgraded from stealth 700 to stealth Max and im very unsatisfied. Problems connecting. Unit connects and turns itself off. Then after i turn it back on it takes a long time before I can hear and others can hear me.

    Does not and never did synch when connected to the wireless hub. Dongle had failed twice - once in ghe warranty period and once outside of it. Customer service wont replace it because they claim its out of the watranty period even though the problem is the same as reported in the warranty period. Given the customer service i received - ans they won’t give you a phone number to speak to someone - i would avoid this brand

    Uncomfortable, impossible to adjust

    It seems turtle Beach forgot people actually were these on thier head. Had this pair for 2 weeks and could never get them comfortable. There were times I took them off because they were downright painful to wear. Other things to consider - sound quality is superior but the controls make it hard to adjust. - connectivity is an issue. I sit above 6 feet away from my console and use the front USB. Had quite a bit of static and connection loss. I returns one pair because I thought it was defective. 2nd pair did the same thing. I talked to a few people who returned these same ones for that reason. All in all... Just not worth the money. I exchanged these for the cheaper Xbox headset, extremely happy I didn't keep these now.

    Looked good… for what you pay quality imo was not worth it. Right out of the box, I had a problem with a lot of static and noise I couldn’t fix. Lots of people even “bby employees” recommended. Just do research and stick to what you know
