It works properly when it wants to. Ive have had problems mid game where only the sound only works on one side of the headset or the mic does not work unless i turn the headset off and on again. For the price of these headsets i think those problem should not be happening.

PROS- Build quality CONS- Mic Quality Software AUDIO the swarm 2 software is really a letdown because it refuses to save your settings and even when you change your settings the audio isnt the greatest

A New Generation of Turtle Beach

Gaming is a passion of mine.  It’s all about escapism.  And part of that escapism is immersion.  That’s why you need a solid headset that is an instrument for escapism.  Turtle Beach has made a great headset with the Stealth 700 Gen 3 that will provide hours of enjoyment for you or that gamer in your life. Set-Up: The Stealth 700 is ready to be set up out of the box since it has a considerable charge.  I HIGHLY recommend that you download the Swarm II Turtle Beach app for the easiest and most efficient process to get your headset up and running.  Plus, there is an update waiting to be applied to this headset.  The Stealth 700 comes with two wireless transmitters, one for your PS5 and the other for your PC.  Just follow the instructions and your headset will be ready within a few minutes.  In case you are wondering, no, you cannot use either wireless transmitter on your Xbox (Series X/S).  This headset is meant for PS5 and PC while allowing pass-through Bluetooth for your phone. Performance: I will get to the meat of this review which is how the Stealth 700 sounds.  Let me tell you, it sounds fantastic!  The games that I have been playing while using this headset are Astro Bot, Black Myth Wukong, Call of Duty, and some Battlefield 2043.  Each game has their own sound which offered variety to my listening experience.  Astro Bot was one that really shined in audio department since that game utilizes the 3D audio of the PlayStation 5.  Black Myth Wukong allowed me to hear the flowing streams, the crunching of the ground as I ran, and the chanting of a choir in Chapter 3.  If you’re looking for an audio edge in a game like Warzone, then the Stealth 700 has you covered.  Compared to my second-generation Stealth 700 headset, Gen 3 is a night and day difference!  The footsteps and gunfire around me sounded deeper and closer. It may have something to do with the 60mm speakers compared to the 50mm of the Gen 2 Stealth. When it came to my microphone audio, none of my friends had complaints.  I even use the Stealth 700 as my microphone when creating content or streaming.  Just like with the audio, the Swarm app allows you to customize your microphone performance. As I mentioned earlier, I pair my headset with both my PS5 and PC and with the press of a easy to access button, I was able to switch the audio source.  The few games that I play on my PC (it’s not a gaming PC) sounded just as rich as if I were playing them on my Xbox Series X.  The two games are Cuphead and Vampire Survivors. You can customize your audio experience in fine detail through the Swarm II app.  You can create several audio profiles in case you have an audio set up that specifically designed for a particular game(s).  On that note, I do need to mention that if you utilize the Superhuman Hearing option while having the PS5 3D Audio turned on, the audio sounds weird.  The two sound modes seem to overlap one another, creating a lack of audio depth. I have to mention that if you leave your wireless transmitter plugged into your PS5, whenever you turn your system on, the audio by default is connected to that wireless transmitter even if you don’t have your headset turned on.  You’ll have to go to your menu bar and switch the audio to your soundbar or TV speakers.  Or you could just unplug the transmitter until you want to use the headset again. This was an issue with the Gen 2 headset as well.  I was disappointed to see this hiccup return.  But I won’t pretend to know how to engineer a headset. Comfort: I have long gaming sessions that can last me hours.  Eventually, something will begin to feel uncomfortable during those long sessions.  It could be the headband starts to dig into the top of my head or the earcups start to feel hot around the ears.  In the case of the Gen 3 Stealth headset, I have to say that this has to be the most comfortable Turtle Beach headset that I have ever experienced in my several years of using their audio products.  The ear cushions gently cradle my ears without making them feel tired at the six hour mark.  I also appreciate how easily the headset will unfold and rest around my neck when I need to take them off.  Design: I have to gush over the design of this Gen 3 Stealth headset.  It has a profession feel to it compared to the Gen 2 Stealth headset that had a lesser plastic feel and look compared to Gen 3.  Turtle Beach definitely improved in the two years since the last gen headset.  With loads of options to customize your gaming audio experience, lightweight comfort for long sessions and the option to switch from PS5 to PC with the push of a button, Turtle Beach has once again made a headset with gamers in mind.

My Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX headset needed to be replaced due to the use of poor plastic in its design (The plastic holdijg the heqdphones together broke when I was taking them off my head and I had them for over a year), So I decided to upgrade to a Gen 3. At first, everything seemed fine. Then, about a couple of hours into gaming, the right speaker popped. I thought nothing of it as nothing seemed to have changed. Then, the next day, the left speaker popped. I figured they were just getting used to being used. The third day, bass is completely gone. Also, while playing, I stopped hearing sound in the right ear. I checked with bluetooth, and I had sound in both ears. So I went and unplugged the USB dongle and plugged it back it and it was fine. Despite no bass still. I'm going to have to return these and find another brand that is more reliable. I figured I had no performance issues with the 700 Gen 2 MAX for over a year, but this is ridiculous. So many issues out of the box, and in the first 3 days.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 is a comfy headset to use. The padding is soft. It is not too heavy. It is rechargeable via included USB-A to USB-C charging cable. It comes with two wireless receivers that connect to a USB-A port. It is fast to connect to the receivers. You can plug them into different consoles. For instance, one can be plugged into you Sony Playstation 5 and the other to a Nintendo Switch. As long as both consoles are powered on and the USB receivers are plugged in, you can switch the headphones between the two consoles. This is what they call CrossPlay. The button on the headset has two arrows shaped like a square. In addition, there is bluetooth capability. I have mine connected to my laptop. Aside from using it while playing, I use it to edit videos. It is okay for that. I may have to adust the EQ settings when listening to music. The microphone can be stowed away, folded into the left side ear phone. When stowed away, the microphone is disabled. You will hear a sound when you pull it out. I normally have my gain levels halfway, but I found I had to set it a little higher. There was already a firmware update. I downloaded it on my laptop. The cool thing with these headset is there is an app available for both iOS and Android where you can also update the headset using the app, just in case do not have a computer. This is a great headset. I’ve used it for a little over an hour straight and it did not feel heavy at all.

THIS… Is Turtle Beach’s 3rd generation Stealth 700 and out of the box I am shocked at how far along Turtle beach has come along in being the final stop for your headphone needs. From a nice thick cup to a sleek housing on the outside and oh the buttons. I don't think they could have added another button or scroll wheel on these headphones and im… kind of digging it? Coming in at $200 msrp I am expecting a more premium product and a good mic, as there isn't a shortfall of competition! This Stealth 700 Gen 3 is replacing my PS5’s aging Stealth 600 gen 2’s which have treated me well but left a lot to be desired… Lets see how the Stealth 700 Gen 3 stacks up and if Turtle Beach has officially left the stigma against them from the old Call of Duty days. When I opened my new Stealth 700s out of the box, I had to update the headphones and both receivers before use, and it was so effortless! Plug in both receivers, turn on the headphones and press update. Easy as that! I kept one receiver in my PC and another one on my PS5 so I never have to worry about losing a receiver. Getting the Stealth 700 out of the box, I was shocked to see just how much pad was on these cups, and while they don’t have any active noise canceling, my wife was the first person to let me know that I wasn’t able to hear her when I was wearing them. Putting these on gracefully cupped my ears in a semi stiff leatherette cup that has never irritated or hurt my head/ears in the many hours I have used them. Something that I was a bit taken back by was just the vast amount of buttons, wheels and moving parts on the headphones. It has three Jog wheels and four buttons to command your game, but when I was gaming with the headphones on…nothing really felt extra or out of place and thanks to the app you can even remap some of the functions on your headphones to your desires. Moving to the external housing, it is a really nice feel for it being plastic and it certainly doesn’t feel cheap, especially once you take into account the all metal yokes! With a nice weight and look, these headphones feel like they are built to last - and with an 80 hour battery life I have to agree. I never ran into any issues with my headphones dying, even after 3 or 4 days of heavy gaming.. Plus! They are Type-C, so you don’t have to fuss over cables. Moving to sound quality, but starting with the mic, the flip to mute mic is absolutely one of my favorite features on any gaming headset ever, fullstop. No more wondering if you muted your mic, taking them off to see if they are flashing red or any of the guesswork I have done previously. Flip the mic down to talk, flip it up to mute it, and you even have a wheel on the side of the headphones to adjust your mic volume. I also enjoy that I don’t have some ugly mic hanging off my headphones at all times, and can tuck it away for a sleeker look. The Microphone also comes with AI Mic Noise Reduction, and while It didn’t mute out anything substantial, it does cut out some of the nasty wind and high pitch whales from my gaming room. Now, onto the reason we are all here! The new 60mm eclipse dual drivers are honestly really good! There are certainly better sounding headphones out there… but those are purpose build headphones and cost a bit more. I was shocked how much bass these put off, and thanks to the 10 band EQ I was able to dial these headphones in to be pretty good multimedia headphones! Gone are the days of people referring to Turtle Beach as basic headphones, these really shocked me in how loud they got, and the absolute control they hand over to you. Here is my only catch, the ‘normal’ mode sounds weird in game and the ‘superhuman’ mode sounds normal… I am not really sure why this is, but I pretty much kept the headphones in superhuman mode when I was gaming and then my custom EQ when I wasn't. If that is my biggest thorn on the headphones then I still chalk it as a win! Something I really enjoyed, was something I also never expected to enjoy… The app! The app is so easy to navigate, effortless and quick to the touch. I can change my headphones settings WHILE I am gaming on my PS5 which is AWESOME. Another cool feature is a handy dandy button that allows me to switch my receivers effortlessly, allowing me to go from my PS5 to my PC is just one quick tap away. Thanks to the dual connectivity, I can also listen to music or discord on my phone while ALSO listening to my game and using my mic on my PS5 which was a really fun, useful feature to use as I hate the discord app for Playstation and this solves that! To wrap this up, Turtle Beach has honestly cooked up a really good headset and probably the best at its price. Coming from an era where Turtle Beach was looked at unfavorably, I am happy to see Turtle Beach crank out some great all round headphones. It is obvious that the people making these headphones are clearly using them as well. From the button placement, the app, to the insane 80 hour battery life, these headphones are built to go the long haul and thanks to the apps versatility and customization, you can keep adapting these headphones to your gaming and multimedia needs! The best part of the whole thing is when you buy this at Best Buy… you never have to worry about getting the wrong headphones, they have this model and several other variations as well to fit all needs and setups. I love these headphones, but it is a very opinionated subject! Which is what makes Best Buy awesome as they probably have it on display to be tested as well as several other options. Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out!?

Like the headset. Its my go to brand. However, to use it you have to plug in the dongle to use it. When you turn your headset off ypu have to remove the dongle or you cant hear the tv. I feel like it should disconect when u power off the headset. To much back and forth and chance to loose he dongle.

The most annoying thing about these headphones, it comes with two dongles. For the firmware update, from the app on your phone, you have to have the two dongles plugged into something with power. Otherwise, the initial firmware update dies. Now the good thing about two dongles. You can stream from BT and the dongle at the same time. If you prefer to use Discord for voice chat but still want to listen to some music and the game audio. No problem. Beyond that, these are solid headphones. Nothing spectacular. But also nothing terrible. Battery life is solid. Comfort is on par with most gaming headsets. They are not too heavy. Not too tight. Weight is pretty good, they are not so light you forget you are wearing them, but also not so heavy that they cause fatigue. Sound is good. Nothing spectacular as far as highs and lows. Just extremely solid across the board. These work with the PS4 or 5 and PC. Also it works with your phone. The updates are done through the phone app. I have not found a Windows app yet. Overall, very solid headphones. They may not be your favorite, but they will be a dependable set that are well built. They should last for a long time.

Horrible upgrade from the Stealth 700 Gen 2. Terrible audio quality, mic input sounds robotic at default settings. Even tampering with output/input in Swamp software, no change. I loved the Stealth 700 Gen 2, this was a huge let down.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 builds on the success of previous generations by adding more features and improving the overall performance of the headset. The Stealth supports Bluetooth connectivity, but the cool feature is that it comes with two 2.4gHz dongles for Crossplay capability. What this means is you can have one dongle plugged into your Playstation and another plugged into your PC. You can quick switch between the two platforms with a simple push of a button on the right earcup. No need to pair or plug in to switch between the two. With Bluetooth you can also connect to any Bluetooth capable device such as a tablet or smartphone. Using the headset with a phone you can take calls and the right earcup has a Bluetooth multi-function button that will answer or end calls but also acts as a media control for music playback. Sound quality is outstanding. The surround effect pulls you into sYou experience a full range of highs and lows and using the Swarm app on your smart device and/or computer you can load up one of 4 Since I’ve covered a couple of the buttons already I’ll cover all of the controls. The left earcup houses: EQ mode button, game volume wheel, variable mic monitoring wheel, a USB port for charging or for updating the firmware and the power button which also doubles for Superhuman hearing (punches up the highs a bit to aid in more surrounding awareness while gaming). The right earcup houses: the Crossplay toggle button, the Bluetooth volume wheel, the Bluetooth multi-function button. Yeah… lots of controls at your fingertips and it doesn’t take long to gain that muscle memory where everything is located. The boom mic has AI filtering to cut out ambient sound keeping your communication clear. Pivoting the mic down engages the mic and pivoting up will mute it. Simple and easy… I hate the ones with the inline volume and mute buttons. I would always accidently hit the button at the worst possible time, not realizing it. This headset is a bit on the heavy side but the earcups and headband are nicely padded with gel cushions making wearing comfortable for extended game play. They fit pretty snuggly so unless you are extremely fidgety they should not fall off. The earpads are even replaceable if you wear them out. I’ll have to take their word on the 80 hours of play on a charge because I usually will put it on a charger after each time I play. Gonna be tough testing out the claim so taking their word for it. Now the kicker for some will be the price of just shy of $200. Although there are several other headsets exceeding this price point most fall below. However, for all the features that are included I find that it offers good value for the money. For me… I’m glad I picked these up.

This is the first foray in trying wireless headsets with multiple gaming devices and I have to say is pretty cool! The Stealth 700 comes with two dongles, but to set it up you need to put both on one machine to pair with your phone. The reason it's important to pair with your phone is to update the firmware. It states in the instructions while there is a computer application you can use to download, but updating the firmware is to be done via phone. I have to admit it took a about 3 tries to sucessfully pair both dongles to the phone and headphone and then update the firmware. Updating the firmware actually did take a little bit of time for me because it disconnected about 3 times as well. The good thing was that the download for the firmware did not start over when connected again. I have a fiber connection so speed was not an issue, it was the time out of devices that caused the disconnections at first. However, once updated, I moved one dongle to the PC and tested out the multi platform compatability. I have to say it worked really well and pretty seemless. Just press the button on the headphones and it transfers to the second dongle. The build is nice but could be better. There is no comfort band on top that I have used with other gaming headsets that helps in long gaming sessions, but this one is ok. You will feel the headband in the long gaming sessions that will make you want to take a break here and there. The sound is pretty good where there are nice big volume wheels to adjust to your liking. But saying that, sound does leak big time in our usage. Not a big deal, but you can tell with the volume up. The boom mic is pretty standard and works well and can be swiped up to mute like many others, nothing new here. The battery life is very good. Not the longest I have used, but for the price it's fine. All in all, a very good headset for multiplatforms. A bit tricky to pair at first but once you have it done, it's pretty smooth sailing.

I've been testing the new Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 headphones for a little over a week. Overall, they are well-featured, well-built, and provide excellent sound. The headphones have comfortable ear pads and a balanced design, making them ideal for long gaming sessions. Although they are a bit heavier than I prefer, they still feel comfortable to wear. The sound quality is impressive, and the volume can get quite loud. The Stealth 700's standout feature is its seamless multi-device connectivity. It includes wireless dongles for two devices and can connect to a third via Bluetooth. A dedicated button on the headphones allows for quick and easy switching between devices. This is a significant advantage over other headphones, especially for users who frequently switch between different platforms. Another excellent feature is the battery life, which matches Turtle Beach's advertised 80 hours. However, there are a few minor drawbacks. The abundance of scroll wheels can be confusing, and there's an inconsistency between the PlayStation volume control and the headset volume. These issues could potentially be addressed through software updates. Overall, the Stealth 700 Gen 3 headphones are a solid choice for users seeking a versatile, comfortable headset with great battery life and multi-device connectivity.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 Wireless Headset is a good wireless gaming headset for either PC or PS5. Out of the box, setup was very quick. The first thing I did was download the Turtle Beach Swarm II app for my android phone. After pairing the headset with my phone and allowing the Swarm II app to find the headset, an essential firmware update was completed. The app is essential for the headset as there are so many options that can be adjusted from the app. There are 2 USB receivers that can be plugged in simultaneously on 2 different devices which is a very nice feature. So, for example, I could keep a receiver plugged into my PC and the other receiver plugged into my PS5 and all I needed to do to switch between them was push a button on the headset. The other thing that I really liked was the amount of volume control options controlled via the headset itself. There are volume wheels for general volume, Bluetooth volume, and feedback volume for how loud you want to hear your own voice in your own headset. I feel it is very rare to have that be controlled physically via the headset instead of controlled through an app. One aspect of the headset that I didn't like was how heavy it was. It is built in a very sturdy fashion with metal often used instead of plastic. While that does mean that the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 Wireless Headset will be able to withstand a bunch of wear and tear, I did start to notice the weight of the headset after a short amount of time wearing them. I also wear glasses, and I would say the headset applies a stronger amount of inward pressure than average. Between the added weight and the tightness on my head, wearing the headset was not particularly comfortable. From a performance perspective, though, the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 Wireless Headset sounds very good on both the PC and PS5. After adjusting the sound options a bit via the app, I was able to find a sweet spot that produced excellent bass and clear treble for both music and gaming. Overall, I liked many of the features of the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 Wireless Headset, like the amount of control on the headset itself and the ability to swap receivers at the push of a button. But, I did not find the headset to be particularly comfortable to wear for more than half an hour. Still, I would recommend this headset, especially for gaming and music.

Having kids that game and myself doing lite gaming, we have been through quite a few headphones throughout the years. I've used a few of Turtle Beach products including a couple of their headphones and have never been disappointed in any of it. I have the Turtle Beach 600 and really the short of it, this one is a definite upgrade. The sheer ability with the crossplay multiplatform by having 2 wireless usb dongle is so convenient. If you have a gaming unit like xbox, ps5 or nintendo switch and a computer, which I think most of us have a combination of these, then you won't have to have a headphone dedicated to each. With a press of a button on the headset, it seamlessly switches between the 2. But, make sure you buy the headset that is dedicated to either Xbox or Ps5. They also upgraded the speakers and there is a noticeable difference. I wouldn't say it's like earth shattering different, but enough to justify the upgrade. Mic is the same, very good. Easy conversations, no one had any complaints on the other end. It also has a new wheel and mode button that you can assign to different functions which is cool. Only thing is, it's right next to the volume button which can be a bit annoying when you hit the wrong one. I think I will get use to it over time though. Comfort, build quality and battery life is the same from my 600. Over all, I think the multiplatform and better sound is worth the upgrade in these headsets.
