    Absolutely Incredible

As an avid gamer for my entire middle aged man life, and someone who has spent a significant amount of hours gaming online in competitive games where sound is truly an advantage... I have never run into an absolute cheat code like this headset. It has every last luxury feature I could possibly think of or want in something I'll wear for a few hours every night to chase dubs with the homies. And as it should, given it's premium price point. If you are going to lay premium money, get something that delivers and whew boy does the Stealth Pro II deliver. Sound quality is incredible. The companion phone app has a plethora of presets to work with, my favorite of which is the one that is designed to enhance footsteps. I'm not sure I've ever had directional sound this well executed in a headset. For more single player focused gamers, there are dialogue enhancing modes for when the action starts to overpower the story, and also a manual mix to play with and suit your own tastes. From a feature standpoint, the app is wonderful. There are many things to choose from many things to play around with, not all of which have had a chance to use yet. One of my favorite things from a feature standpoint is the ability to have audio from my Bluetooth on my phone as well as my Xbox or other input using any of the provided dongles. Very nice quality of life to be able to plug multiple dongles into multiple devices and simply switch the mode based on the device you're using. As someone who games on both PC and Xbox, I cannot state how much I love this. Can connect up to four different dongles using one headset, but it only comes with two. One of the dongles it comes with is also a charging base. I did not expect the two to be one and the same... But that is a very nice touch. The base has a slot where you can switch out one of two rechargeable batteries that came with the set so that one can be charging and the other can be in use. You'll never run out of juice since each battery is rated at 40 hours. Physically the headset is very comfortable. The noise canceling both electronic and physical is extremely effective and helps you really focus in. The part that goes over your head is mesh for breathability. Overall, it's a very comfortable headset to wear and if it wasn't for all the explosions and my friends yelling at me to stay with the group, I would forget that I was wearing it. Overall, between the battery, life, physical comfort, multitude of features, and exceptional build quality, this headset is absolutely worth the price and I 100% recommend it to anyone considering it.

The Stealth Pro II from Turtle Beach might be my new "ultimate" headset.. The one without compromises. The one that answers the total call for any gaming (or calling) needs and doesnt leave me wishing that I worked in product for one of these companies that always leaves out a killer feature. This is a NO compromises device. Worried about battery life? The desktop dongle/base station CHARGES a spare, hot-swappable battery. DONE. Worried about heat and comfort? The new headband takes a page from Apple and others and uses an open-mesh design for cooler wear, and the earpads are RIDICULOUSLY soft also. DONE. Want a chat mic sometimes but hate having it hanging there when you just need killer audio for your campaign playthroughs? DETACHABLE! (They pulled off a miracle here where it's ALSO foldable for muting - Never had a headset that did BOTH. DONE. Integrated direct 2.4GHz connection in the charging dock. DONE. ADDITIONAL dongle for console included. DONE (this one sings to my Xbox-playing heart!) Cross-play intelligent audio switching for console/PC/Moble - DONE. This thing really has it all. It's also a MUCH more premium industrial design than its predecessor and feels like it has the perfect balance of lightness and heft to feel comfortable and premium. Even on my giant head they were a comfort-wear, and I really appreciated the extras like the hard case for travel or storage. All in all, this one is the new GOAT in my opinion. Even my ROG and Alienware rigs are getting set up with this one as the walkabout headset in all of my gaming setups.

Hello GadgetGuy1981, thank you for your review of the Stealth Pro II for Xbox and for the positive comments on all the features included! Regarding the CrossPlay feature, for those who may be reading, this allows the headset to switch between the transmitters it's connected to; whether they're connected to an Xbox or PC. However, it does not affect the Bluetooth connectivity to mobile devices, the Bluetooth functionality of the headset is always on. TurtleBeach

Turtle Beach has created the ultimate headset with every option a gamer could ever ask for. They put options on this headset that I never knew could be done and ones I’ve never even thought of. Some of my favorite features are: The feel of this headset is high quality. The ear pads are super soft memory foam providing hours of comfort. It’s not super heavy but also doesn’t feel too light or flimsy. Adjusting it to my preference was simple. The swappable lithium ion batteries is the first “Oh wow” feature. No more plugging in to charge or hang on a stand, there’s a charging base for the battery and you just drop it in and pop the charged one into the headset. GENIUS! The batteries are rated for 40 hours of play each. You can connect to multiple gadgets at once- play Xbox and connect to something to play music through. There is a button to essentially flip between connected devices while keeping the headset on. There’s an app to control sound preferences and customize everything to your personal preferences. The sound quality is the best I’ve ever tried out. It’s certified high res audio and is Dolby atmos. It truly makes you feel like you’re in the game the way the crispness and detail come through these speakers. Absolute knock-out headset. Worth every penny

Hello Tweed, we're glad that you're enjoying your Stealth Pro II for Xbox! Regarding the CrossPlay feature, that allows you to switch between connected devices. This is specifically for devices that you have a transmitter plugged into; for example, if you had your transmitter dock plugged into an Xbox and the USB transmitter plugged into your PC. You would then between able to switch between the wireless audio from the Xbox and PC. TurtleBeach

With these headphones, it all comes down to how important sound quality is to you, in my opinion. If having excellent sound quality is most important, these are the ones for you and they are worth the money....maybe. I was quite impressed with the 60mm drivers and how they produced strong bass, that bomb immersice surround sound effects, and prime audio for my shooting and character-driven games. I must also highlight that they are noticeably better than older Turtle Beach models and comparable to some more expensive well known competitors (who shall remain nameless). Another Pro: Outstanding battery life The promised 80-hour battery life is one of its strongest selling points because its actually true! I have gone weeks in between charges. Another PRO: Flexibility: The Xbox version can work with Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and even my mobile devices. BIG BIG Pro: The Bluetooth + game audio simultaneously I can phone calls, music, or podcasts while gaming! HUGE WIN! CON: Not the best microphone: I mean, its okay for basic chat, but not really great for streaming or if you're a content creator. CON: Large and bulky - Not bad at first, but for long gaming sessions, this becomes really obvious and annoying. CON: The Swarm app is hit or miss. Sometimes it works fine, other times its really buggy and has connectivity issues. I read other users had these issues too on the forums. CON: Price point; depending on if pricing is a make or break for you, the price on these is high. However, if these PROS are your main priorities, then these are a winner.

I’ve used many different brands and models of headsets over the years for Xbox, PS, windows gaming and work calls. This model has been a big upgrade over all of my previous headsets and a nice upgrade from my old turtle beach headset. The headset looks and feels like a premium product and I really like the mesh headband, it’s very similar to another big name brands headband with the comfort, look, and feel. The ear cups are soft and seal well without my head and ears getting too hot or sweaty. Sound quality has been fantastic and the you really notice the Spatial Audio while gaming and listening for footsteps and sound from all around you. The noise cancellation is top notch, and I’ve actually been using these over my other noise canceling headphones while locking in to get work done during the day and blocking out all other distractions. I also love the batteries, easy to swap and last for several days of use. Charge one while you’re using the other, easy! This is my first headset that has the ability to switch between multiple different gaming platforms and devices and I don’t think I’ll ever go back after using this… it’s simple, quick and intuitive to switch between devices and this feature has been one of my favorites and most used.

Specs The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II is a wireless headset with this version specifically compatible with Xbox, Playstation, and PC platforms as well as Bluetooth enabled devices. This specific product comes with a wireless headset, a wireless USB transmitter, two rechargeable battery packs with a charging dock, an additional charging cable, and a hardshell storage case. Pros Anything with Dolby Atmos audio is a win! It truly delivers a “3D” sound, which allows or crazy immersion in any game – specifically Elder Scrolls. With advanced noise cancellation, CrossPlay 2.0 (allows switching between up to four audio sources), and Eclipse dual drivers, it is hard to beat this product. Between the two batteries I get about 70-80 hours of use. They are comfy and I do not seem to sweat in them like I tend to with other over ear headsets. The microphone stays steady, which helps keep volume consistent. I also really like the flip to mute feature! Much easier than taking everything off or muting by trying to remember which button does what. Cons The knobs on the headset are a little bulky, but I do prefer too big to too small. Conclusion The sound quality of these phones will be hard to beat! I really enjoy these phones, and Turtle Beach products are a great midline option.

I require a lot of my headphones. The older I have got, the more I have come to appreciate quality sound. The older I have got, the more I have come to appreciate silence. No, I am not having a stroke. But these Turtle Beach Stealth Pro gaming headphones provide me with both, and they do so at an amazing level! Life is busy so I don't get to game as much as I used to. But when I have an opportunity, I really want to zone out and enjoy what little free time I have. The noise cancelling feature of this headset really helps with eliminating distractions. Now that my environment is quiet, not I want to focus on my task at hand. If I am playing a competitive FPS, I really want to focus and hear who is around me. This headset provides you with an amazing spatial feel. The directional sound is very focused and leaves no doubt what side the noise is coming from. Once or twice a week I get to play games with my kids, and these days are a lot slower paced and less competitive. The kids aren't old enough to use a mouse and keyboard so we usually play something like Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch. And this, although less demanding, is where I am really impressed with this headset. In the past, I have found creative ways to split input sources to my headset so that I could game on a console & listen to music from my phone or PC at the same time while still maintaining the ability to use my mic. But with the Stealth Pro II, it is truly multi and simultaneous platform. Keyword: simultaneous. A lot of headsets can receive inputs from multiple sources, but Turtle Beach did us a solid here and made it simultaneous input capable. Outside of Music + Gaming, it also allows me to use Discord while on Switch. I know that the Switch 2 has game chat, however most of my gaming is cross platform so Discord is my best option and this allows me to solve this problem with ease and no creative wire splitting. Speaking of chat, the mic is incredible. It is a directional mic so that it wont pick up much background noise when speaking to others, and like some previous models, the mic is lift to mute, which is great if I am enjoying some midgame snackage. Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II headset is the most inclusive and polished headset I have had the pleasure to experience. The battery life is incredible. It even comes with a secondary battery that you can swap out in just a matter of seconds. The comfort is amazing. And unlike some other feature rich headsets I have tried, these feel surprisingly light on the head. If you are looking for the Swiss Army Knife of headsets that excels in every category, this is the headset you are looking for.

If you're looking for a comfortable and lightweight but well built headset, then you'll love this new one from turtle beach. I've tried out several headsets over the years and always go back to turtle beach. They last forever, have great sound quality, good mics and quality materials. This is an upgrade from my previous headset that was heavier and less breathable as the padding and headband were more leather like materials. I prefer the comfort of this headband. There are on ear wheels to adjust sound, background mix and chat for adjusting mid game if needed. The mic is different than my previous headset but seems to work well. Pairing and updating was super quick and easy with my phone and the app let's you swap profiles or adjust anc etc easily. The second battery is a nice change from the previous version I have and will make it easy to keep gaming when the battery runs low. Anc seems to work well. My only complaint is putting the mic up doesn't appear to mute it like the previous model so I have to keep the headset in push to talk mode and I would rather not have to do that. Overall a great pick.

SO Much To Love, But Unfortunately Not For Me.

I LOVE Turtle Beach, they have had some of my favorite headphones over my entire gaming lifetime (which is extensive). These would be my absolute favorite headphone of theirs except I can't wear them for any length of time over 30 minutes. I've never had a headphone with the mesh 'hammock' for a headband but I've quickly learned that it is probably the worst for my head. That being said, that is mostly on me since my advanced age has removed the hair padding from the top of my head, and genetics has given me a bit of a point to my head. ALL headband headphones have been painful for me after relatively short time, but the Stealth Pro II is probably the shortest time of all. This is a shame, because they are by far the sexiest gaming headphones I've ever had, and both the sound and earpad comfort are the absolute BEST out of any headphone I've had. My only other complaint other than the headband is the smell of the foam in the storage case. The off-gassing from that has been horrible! I have had it in my garage for a week now and it STILL smells and now my garage also smells bad! Like I said above though, there is SO MUCH to love about this headset. If you have a generous quantity of hair on your head (or perhaps not as sensitive as mine), these are easily the BEST gaming headphones you can get right now. I'll highlight a few of the things that I'm really gonna miss after a week of gaming with these: 1. Style AND Substance: This thing oozes style and feels like a premium headphone. It is solid, with no creaks, squeaks, or rough edges. Simply the most premium gamin headphone I've ever owned and it's up there with some of the audiophile ones I used to own. 2. Those EarPods: Like clouds. If they could put that thickness of this foam on the headband for me, I'd be in heaven. AND they stay cool! Just awesome. 3. Sound Quality/Settings: If you can't get them best sound you've ever heard from a game out of these, you did something wrong. Out of the box and with no tweaking whatsoever, they sound phenomenal. When you open up the Swarm II app (which you MUST do), you will be able to tweak everything down to the smallest detail and get exactly the sound you need. No wimpy 4 or 6 band EQ here, you get a 10 BAND equalizer and a ton of custom save slots to create all kinds of profiles. 4. Swarm II App: Hands-down the best app for a headphone I have used, even compared to those audiophile ones. You almost kinda need the app because one of my only other quibbles with the Stealth Pro IIs are the ridiculous amount of buttons and wheels on the ear cups. Perhaps I'd get better muscle memory if I wore them longer but I was screwing things up more than I wanted by using the physical buttons. It was just so much easier to change settings with the App. 5. Battery Life: I only just now swapped out the installed battery with the backup one you get (and stays charged in the connector dock), and I was playing HARD and LOUD for the week. Easy to swap out and keep going with your game. I also can't believe how small that battery is! I'm old but MAN is battery engineering getting really, really good! 6. Connections: So easy to connect to anything you want, even all at once! I had the Stealth Pro IIs connected via Bluetooth to my phone, and I used the connection puck/battery charger with my Xbox Series X. Super easy to do connect to both, and you get another USB stick to connect to another console or device to make these your all-in-one headphones. Ok, I guess I have one more quibble. I wish there were a way to turn off the indicator light around the connector puck, because when I don't want to use headphones, it is constantly flashing looking for the headphones to be on. Not a big deal if you have it out of the way, but mine sits right on my desk and it is annoying. Conclusion: While these are not cheap headphones, the are an outstanding VALUE. You get premium everything with these, the ability to use with virtually any (and multiple) device(s), and the ability to have multiple tailored sounds, make the Stealth Pro IIs a virtual sound system for everything and not just one of many headsets/bars/speakers you might have. Simply amazing, but unfortunately my noggin just can't seem to handle headband headphones any longer. Though I'm gonna spend quite some time to see if I can find a way to make these work. It would be worth whatever time and money it requires.

Hi Wraith, thank you for your review of the Stealth Pro II, and we are delighted to read your positive comments about the audio and the comfort of the ear cushions! We took extra care to design the Stealth Pro II as a comfortable headset, and it’s always our goal to make headsets that are enjoyable for the vast majority of users to wear comfortably for marathon gaming sessions. We are sorry to learn that the fit and feel of this product’s headband weren’t a match for you on this one.

Regarding the storage case, we expect our products to have that “new-car smell” for a bit, but we wouldn’t expect it to be strong or to pervade the room. Setup: The unboxing was very much a premium experience from what my previous experience has been with Turtle Beach products. They included a nice hard shell zipper case that held everything in place with nice foam inserts. The quick start guide was even Velcroed in. Very much a premium experience. I immediately downloaded the Turtle Beach Swarm II app and was able to pair the headset. Then there was a firmware update needed. I did need to charge the headset some before applying that so there was no issues if it died mid update. Then I was able to try the different sound profiles, mic noise cancellation and ANC. I like this since when gaming it is nice to still hear what is going on in the room. Use: When testing audio since these have 60mm drivers I was expecting clear detailed sound, but I just did not feel they excelled here. I changed all of the sound profiles and still the sound was ok but really flat. When I placed a call on my mobile it worked great and as I walked through the house the caller was not able to hear the dog or my family in the background. When setting up on PC I was able to place a Zoom call and it worked fine all day and I never came close to losing battery over 8 hours. Actually, I did not charge them until 4 days later. They turn off when not in use but not super quick as to require powering them on every time you step away. When I went to charge them, I actually swapped the battery which is the main benefit of these since you can have a fully charged battery ready to go vs just charging them. I actually like this better and feel like this may be the new norm. One odd thing was if your phone is also connected and your in a zoom meeting the call will ring in the headset and the meeting you’re in cannot hear you. That was unique but I just unpaired them from my phone and all was well. When setting these up on my Xbox it was super easy and they worked right away. I did enjoy the clear sound when playing Fortnite and Forza. It was reliable and detailed, however not as good as some others I have tested in this price point. Also, when you shut off your Xbox they automatically turn off. As far as comfort. They are comfortable but not super comfortable so I can just wear them all day without noticing. It seems like the top band was stretched when on my head so there was additional tension on the headset. In all these are a great headset that covers all use cases except for media consumption being a weaker sound profile. I would recommend these since they work on anything you could need currently so that is a plus.

I have been needing a new wireless headset for my XBOX and I could not wait to get these home to start using them. From the moment I unboxed them I could tell these were going to be special. These headphones are cross platform compatible. What does that mean? You can seamlessly switch between multiple platforms, Xbox, PlayStation, PC and more. And with the built in bluetooth 5.3 I can also connect simultaneously to calls or listen to music. Awesome!!!! And just when you think that is all, wait, you get a second battery as well. This second battery can be charging so you are ready to go when your first battery is drained, just swap out to the second battery and continue with your gaming. And you get a hard case for storage or travel to keep these protected when not in use. I actually like the mesh center piece that fits across the top of my head. For long periods of use, this helps make these super comfortable. Whether you are online for virtual meetings, or gaming, you barely notice you are wearing these. So for gaming, I need headphones with incredible sound. These definitely have the best sound of any headset I have had previously. Super impressed with the immersive sounds I am getting from my games on xbox. All in all I am super impressed. You even get two dedicated volume buttons to control the different inputs. For instance I can turn my music up louder or I can have my game louder and then have the background music softer. Genius that these can have multiple inputs for sound at the same time. If you are new to this field or looking for a replacement I highly recommend these for comfort and sound quality.

This Stealth Pro II wireless headset is simply perfect for Xbox and PlayStation users. I have not used it for PC, so I can't review it for that. Set up is easy. Just plug in the CrossPlay charging dock/transmitter into your game system and it will connect and have you ready to go. It has an additional USB wireless transmitter to plug into another game system, and with the touch of a button on the headset itself you can switch to the other system seamlessly. It has two 30 hour-life batteries included, so you don't ever have to worry about stopping in the middle of gameplay for charging if you forgot to while not playing. You can use the headset to take Bluetooth calls from your mobile phone if desired, but I have not done that. The noise cancelling function is amazing. You will be totally immersed in your game if you want to block out everything else. The detachable mic provides clear chat with AI noise reduction built in to it to accentuate your chat. You can use a dial on the headset to modulate sound between the game sounds and chat. The ear cushions are very soft and breathable. The lightweight suspension headband is also very comfortable. Sounds from the game can be modified from the Swarm II app to customize your preferences. The Hi-Res audio sound quality is amazing and supports Dolby Atmos. I highly recommend this headset

I have been using the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II for about a week now and the Stealth Pro II's are the first gaming headset I have used that approaches audiophile quality, gosh even the design is more like something you would get from Apple or Bose. Build quality is impressive, mesh there is nice brushed metal, no RHB backlights, chrome-accents - seriously you could wear this out (remove the mic) and people would assume the Stealth Pro II is a high end music headset. Out of the box the Stealth Pro II's are already impressive. You get a quality lined padded hard case that neatly holds the Steal Pro II's, the removal boom mic, the external battery dock, USB A to USB C cable, and standard USB A dongle. Setup was mostly easy, but I would recommend setting up on your PC the first time using the Turtle Beach Swarm II app. The app is free, no registration required. First use there are firmware updates for everything and it's just easy to manage on a PC (although I am sure it would be OK doing it first time on your Xbox). I spent this weekend playing Forza 5 (counting down until Forza 6) and with ANC turned on, the Stealth Pro's are an incredible immersive, rich sounding headset. It's crazy how clear the audio is, although my ears did sweat on extended game play. I'm not sure if I have the stamina for 40 hours game play non-stop which is what the battery is rated. I do like they include an extra battery and you can swap and continue. I don't play with a headset all the time, so have been caught in the past with a dead battery and thankful there is a spare. In terms of voice chat, the boom mic is flexible and removable. I did some comparisons between the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II and my old Logitech gaming headset and friends said the Stealth sounded much better. I did discover (made me laugh) is that these can be connected to your Xbox and phone simultaneously, and also took a phone call via the Stealth II. That's pretty awesome. Overall, I love the Turtle Stealth Pro IIs. Amazing sound, great voice quality, multiple device support, swappable battery. They could small negative is like I said earlier, the passive noise cancelation makes them a complete fit and my ears did sweat after a few hours - but we'll blame the start of summer for that!

Turtle Beach does it again! The new Stealth Pro 2. Are simply Amazing. Coming from a long time user of Turtle Beach headset, starting with the stealth 500,600 and 700's being my last set, I was looking for something new and up to date. I tried other brands, and they were all great, Just not Amazing. Then I found the Stealth Pro ll. Comfort, check. Sound quality, check. Rechargeable battery pack, check. Super human hearing, of coarse. And an included carrying case. I feel like every option you could possibly look for in a gaming headset. Turtle Beach knocked it out of the park with these. Everything down to the detachable boom mic. Which is one of my personal favorites. I like to be able to wear them for just listening to music too. The active noise canceling is great, it blocks everything out. And i mean everything. So when I do get to play, I actually get to play in silence. Or get to immerse myself into the game play.Setup was a breeze with the Swarm ll app. The app also give you full user adjustability. Everything you need is included in the very nice carrying case. 2 battery packs, cords for battery charging hub. USB dongle for connecting to Xbox. Super happy with these.

There are a couple of issues with this headset - in aggregate - that push it to a 4 star rating. For initial setup, and I am sure someone will tkae issue with this, but the unit just failed to connect to the Swarm II app until I charged it. The paperwork said first thing was firmware update, which is fine, but if you are not going to send the unit pre-charged state that as the FIRST action to take - it wasn't even mentioned. Once it was charged, the upgrade and connection went fine though. Second thing - comfort (the important part I mentioned) - which is a pretty big deal for a headset. Though you have basically unlimited adjustment freedom with the headband (the arms are not notched or anything - this should be noted as a highlight), the headband itself is not comfortable. I think making it wider would have helped, or cushing instead of the stretchy band. Off your head, the unit does not feel 'heavy'. My teenager also had some gripe about the earphones themselves, but I personally did not have any issues in that regard. Onto the positives. The case and everything inside is exceptional - everything has a place and you're not just throwing stuff in there. The included USB cable is nice and long. I appreciate the removeable microphone, and ease of mute. The controls in general are easy to use. I like the fact that it comes with two batteries, so as long as you are charging one in the dock, you should never have any downtime. The in-use battery is covered by a magnetic cover, which stays on when needed and is easy enough to get off. At this point I cannot speak to the life of the batteries unfortunately. Sound quality is similar to other Turtle Beach offerings of the same ilk, both for phone/music use and Microsoft XBox multiplayer gaming. That all being said, there are multiple highlights.

I've tested a many gaming headsets over the years so I was excited when these popped up for review. My current gamers are Turtle Beach but I have about worn them out. Straight out of the box I am impressed with the boxing and presentation. Links for instructions and the SWARM II app. I charged them up, connected the wireless/charger transmitter and went for a whirl. These are some of the best sounding, loudest and clear gaming headphones I have used over the past 3 years. They are comfortable, solid, good looking and the clarity on chat and Atmos is fantastic. I tinkered with the settings on the app and they instantly took effect and made serious improvement. Usually, footstep or superhuman hearing modes make the sound tinny and high pitched. I put it on extra bass and treble, cranked the superhuman up for footsteps, and wow! Amazing sound. Battery life is outstanding, the visual feedback with the colored ring from the wireless transmitter is nice and I think I have found the best gaming headphones on the planet!! Awesome job TB!!

The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II delivers premium sound quality, strong noise cancellation, and I feel has one of the most comfortable fits Turtle Beach has made. The audio is clear and powerful for both gaming and music, while the detachable mic gives crisp communication during multiplayer games. Battery life is solid, and the wireless connection feels fast and reliable across both my console and PC. Pros: Excellent sound quality with deep bass and clear footsteps Comfortable for long gaming sessions and in a warm environment Strong microphone clarity Reliable wireless performance Good battery life and noise cancellation capability Cons: Expensive compared to other gaming headsets I have purchased Bulky design may not appeal to everyone Some features can feel overwhelming at first Mic quality still slightly behind dedicated standalone microphones Overall, the Stealth Pro II is a great high-end headset for serious gamers who want premium audio and comfort, but the high price may not be worth it for casual players. I really like this headset and the easy at which they can be used and charged.

We’ve been really happy with the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II Multiplatform Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox. My son uses it regularly at home for gaming, and it’s been a great addition to his setup. The sound quality is impressive, with clear audio that helps him stay immersed in his games, and the microphone does a great job of keeping his voice clear when he’s chatting with friends….hours on hours. One thing we’ve noticed is how comfortable it is, even during longer gaming sessions. The headset fits well and doesn’t seem to cause any discomfort. The wireless connection has also been reliable, which means no dealing with tangled cords or interruptions. The battery life has been solid for our needs, and the controls are easy enough for him to use without constantly asking for help. Overall, it’s a well-made headset that delivers excellent performance and has held up well with regular use. We’d definitely recommend it to other families looking for a high-quality gaming headset for Xbox.

Turtle Beach, maker of headsets for many years, has updated their top tier Stealth Pro headphone with the new Stealth Pro II, featuring the ability to switch between up to four transmitters without wiring them all to a main base station, active noise cancellation. Does this headset live up to the hype? Time to give them a spin and find out. In the box, you’ll find a… very large hard case. For some reason, decisions were made to pack these headphones with the earcups rotated flat in the “wide” orientation, so the case is also super wide to match. It..works, to hold the entire kit with a nice foam insert, but for travel you may want to find something a little more compact. Inside the case of giantness, you’ll find the headset, the transmitter/battery charging base with one of the two batteries in it, one additional transmitter, the detachable mic, and a generously long USB A to C cable. There is also the usual documentation. My copy of these was in the first run, and there are silica gel and activated carbon pouches to ensure everything stays dry and to pull the smell from the adhesives used in the case out – but they were all tucked under the transmitter, which sealed them off from the rest of the case. That area I’m sure had no smell….but the rest of the case kind of had that new glue smell. Fortunately, it didn’t stick on the headphones and they aired out right away. It’s immediately apparent that the build quality here is really high. These headphones look and feel great. The fabric headband, clearly inspired by a certain fruit company, is really light on your head and the clamping force is mercifully low. I’ve worn them for hours with no discomfort from pressure or weight. They are the most comfortable gaming headphones I’ve worn to date. Other touches, such as the metal wheels, subdued and classy styling, make it apparent that these are a higher end set of gaming cans. First thing is first – firmware updates! YAY! Turtle beach seems to finally have this sorted out though and the firmware update was no issue using the Swarm II software on my PC. Plug in the base and the transmitter, and optionally the headset (it can to OTA upgrades, but since the batteries were low, I left it plugged in), and follow the prompts to upgrade. After the updates were complete and the headset battery was charged up, it was time to test these out. One thing I really wanted to try was their function as just a general purpose set of headphones for music. Sometimes, what makes gaming headphones good for gaming doesn’t make them as good for music. But these sound great. Pairing them to your phone is as easy as pairing any other headphones, and they are really great for music. Compared to my “music” headphones by one of the major brands these were…better. The sound is less bright and sounds less processed, the ANC sets a very low and quiet noise floor, with no background “air” sound. They are just really good for music. Full bass, clean treble, with great sound separation, even running some “thumpy” bass tracks with ANC on, which makes many headphones sound a little muddy, these powered right through. Of course, these headphones are dual source when paired with a Bluetooth device, so you can listen to your own playlists while gaming on or using your PC and both sounds come through. Bluetooth volume is also separate from main volume, so you can find the balance that is just right. Finally, on to gaming! As expected, these headphones, with their generous 60mm Eclipse dual drivers, sound fantastic for games. Sounds are clear and easily positioned. No noticeable latency, and if you configure your PC for it, you can go up to 24bit/96000hz audio quality. This is notable because you do not need to do crazy things like wire an HDMI cable into a base station for this to work, it just works over the USB transmitters. This flexibility means you can have the transmitters plugged into different devices in different rooms, press the switch button on the headset, and cycle to the next device. It’s simple and just works..and doesn’t need a ton of wires or everything close to a main base station. As with music, sound is super detailed and they can pump out a ton of bass while keeping the treble nice and clean. They are just really great headphones for gaming..and everything else. The detachable mic also sounds great, and still supports flip up to mute. There are also integrated mics in the headset for on the go use if you have the mic detached. As great as the headset itself is, there are still a couple of quirks, and mostly it has to do with the transmitter base. As this is the Xbox version, the transmitter base as a switch to change modes between Xbox and PC modes.. No issues there, but the ONLY transmitter that can switch to Xbox mode is the base station. That..is unfortunate. My main gaming space is my PC, so I like having the base station with the charged battery there, and I can’t use the little dongle on my Xbox, as the dongles only support PC or PlayStation. It’s not a huge deal to move the base station, but for a device that touts multiple device connectivity as a feature, not being able to switch the small dongles to Xbox mode or even buy an Xbox transmitter dongle is a weird oversight. The transmitter base also continually pulses red while the headset is muted (which is most of the time for me), you can turn down or turn off this LED, but it would be nice to just disable the red on mute so you can see the status of the link instead when muted. The other weird thing was that the base station didn’t really charge the battery initially. It was very slow to not charging at all. I swapped the battery out and charged it using the headset, and now everything seems fine, with batteries charging in the base station normally. With the possible exception of the dongles not supporting Xbox and being forced to use the base station on that platform, these are all really minor things that don’t detract from the fact that this is an excellent headset that could easily serve as your headphones for gaming and music. When you consider how versatile and feature loaded this headset is, along with user swappable batteries to both keep the action going but also so you can just buy a replacement when they eventually start to wear out, there is a great value here despite their higher end price point (for a gaming headset, for a good set of music headphones? They are less than many of the other premium brands). If you can spring for them, this is one of the best headsets and sets of headphones I’ve had the pleasure of using. They are really great and should be on your list.
