At Best Buy the sales person told me that I couldn't go wrong with this Turtle Beach Headset and they were not wrong. My son is enjoying it at 100%, the surround sound is great

I had a turtle Beach headset that broke. I replaced it with this one and it’s holding up pretty good.

This is a $69.99 headset that I got on sale for $39.99. I mention this as that's the base for my rating and review. It's an inexpensive headset that's a great value for its price. It is rather garish looking, I'll admit but when you wear it on your head, who cares, right? The headset is nicer than the Turtle Beach headset I had for my 360. There is a leatherette covering for the head band. The ear pieces are adjustable up and down, and are covered with a fabric material that doesn't cause my head/ears to sweat like vinyl does. I have a large head and this headset doesn't squish my head head or give me any kind of pressure headache like some narrow headsets do. The sound is loud and clear without being truly surround sound. They are Dolby Atmos compatible which does a halfway decent attempt at surround sound (but remember to change your Xbox headset audio setting to this). Unlike my old headset that connected to both the controller and the back of my Xbox using RCA cables, this headset gets all its sound (game sounds and chat) through the 3.5mm cable. That means you are really only tethered to the controller which is somewhat nice. I can play for quite a few hours (using the rechargeable battery pack in the controller) without it getting low on juice. I plug my controller into the charging cable every night when I'm done so I'm not sure how many hours you can really get out of a single controller battery charge. This is a great headset for $40, or even the $70 it is usually. My one real problem is the microphone. It is adjustable and removable but you can't stow it out of the way when connected to the headset. It's noticeably there and annoying when you don't need it. I am tempted to just remove it when I don't need it but with mischievous pets and possibly causing extra wear on the microphone or headset adapter I find myself just trying to bend it away from my peripheral vision.

These are great for the price point. They fit comfortably, sound is good on gaming. I have used them on my IPhone to talk they worked great and no one complained about not being able to hear me, also use them on PlayStation 4 they absolutely work perfect for me, and use them on the PC for gaming and communicating with an adapter that coverts a single 3.5mm jack to double 3.5mm jack and they work on that also. They have a mic mute switch and sound volume control on the cord that is very useful when you don’t need the world to hear what’s going on at you house. Wish I would have purchased two pairs during the sale. I would recommend these if your looking for Inexpensive gaming headphone mic combo with great quality and sound.

The headset is quality is good considering they were only $40. They are comfortable and I like the ability to remove the mic. They have decent bass and the audio is clear. The only thing that would have made them a 5 would be noise cancellation.

I bought these and was pleasantly surprised. The clearity is perfect, they feel good on my ears. The mic is very easy to adjust. Blocks out outside noise, The only flaw would be the max volume isn’t that loud. But besides that I’d highly recommend, great buy for the money.

Got this for my son, he's very happy with it. Volume adjustment along the chord is very important to us, so the levels can be easily adjusted, preventing hearing damage. 3.5mm jack plugs straight into the Xbox-One-S controllers (so no adapter needed - unlike for the 1st generation Xbox-One). He also uses it for listening to Youtube video's, connected to his tablet. Overall a great price/performance.

Overall I think these perform well. They are relatively comfortable for long periods of time and appear to be very sturdy. Only thing keeping me from rating as a 5 is the volume is a bit lower than I would like. I would like to turn it up just a bit louder sometimes. They are great in a quiet room but anytime there is additional noise it can make it difficult to hear.

I was pretty excited ordering this headset. I thought it would be great to get the kids on headsets with microphones so they're not screaming throughout the house. The specs say it works on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, etc., PERFECT! Unfortunately, they didn't come with a 3.5mm Jack Headphones Adapter that would convert the single 3.5mm jack to a PC for Dual 3.5mm Male for Computers to get the Audio and Microphone. Other than that (and spending an extra 15.00 on the adapters), the headset is comfortable and was basically plug and play. Sound was decent and it did a pretty good job on keeping the ambient noises out. I can't speak much towards the microphones until my adapters arrive. Providing there's no issues with the microphone, I would probably give it a solid 4.0 if the item came with the adapter.

Got these on sale. Really good so far. Nice sound, very comfortable and adjustable. Only issue I have is that the Xbox seems to have issues connecting with it sometimes. I can't tell if it's the headphones or something to do with the Xbox settings, but like I said, really good so far. Will update after a while of using them.

I bought these for my 16 y/o son for his Birthday, and so far he loves them. He really likes how they hook into the controller and no longer need to go across the room to plug into the receiver. We have found Turtle Beach to be great quality and go through a lot. So far, very happy with this headset.

So first of all, compared to other stereo headsets it may not be as bright or dynamic by comparison due to the lack of a bass boost. That said however, I think the surround on this headset works great. Atmospheric sounds are top notch when compared to other headsets such as the XO One. For the price this cannot be beat. Best example of how the surround has impacted my gaming experience would be in Battlefield One. I could easily hear and isolate crawling sounds of my buddy on the left as an ally (identified on minimap) and the sounds behind me as an approaching enemy. I do believe these help give a level of situational awareness that cheaper or other non-surround headphones do not. In addition compared to similar priced headsets such as the XO One the construction is better quality and more comfortable.

this is an awesome mid level headset, nice bass, comfortable, my only gripe is that i wish the cord was detachable in case its ever damaged, it'd be easy to replace it if it was, but other than that, it's a great headset for the price

I used to own wireless turtle beaches when i use to play xbox 360 and recently ive got into my xbox one and needed some surround sound but didnt feel like paying the price of the wireless, these are great! Only i am a little fuzzy sometimes when the cord gets tangled or when charging the wireless controller

These are complete with surround sound. Played red dead redemption 2 with them and it was AMAZING! also worked really well with call of duty online, battefield, and other types of shooter multiplayer gameplay. I was surprised how much I liked listening to music with these headphones. Really good sound and comfortable. Really enjoy how the over ears swing. They seem durable so far in both the wire and over ear. Microphone can be unplugged to which is really nice feature. These aren't as sleek or crazy looking as some others out there but these do the job and I believe have just as good of quality for less.

Turtle beach makes one of the better gaming headsets for the average consumer. If you want one of the best then look at getting a pair of Astros. They are the best at the $200 $250 price point but not everyone can afford that so turtle beach is your better cheaper option.

I got these at a very good $39.99 price point during Black Friday. The headset is decent, and the sound is an improvement, especially when playing online. I'll see how long they last, but right now, initially it's a really good investment. Highly recommended.
