Will Grappling Ever Win Out?

I'll say that it could be worse, but the game is lacking in some very important areas. The first is in its gameplay: striking is fun, boasting spectacular animations and bone-crunching hits, but the sheer number of flush shots an opponent can endure is maddening. The ground game is something that I avoid like the plague, because the grappling system is unclear on how to perform reversals and blocks or when to properly execute them. The lack of a tournament mode, something that seems both simple to incorporate and a mandatory addition to and MMA game, if for no other reason than to pay homage to the MMA of old, is unforgivable. This game is fun to pop in and play for 20 minutes or so in 1v1 matches with the computer or to mess around on with friends, but that's about it as far as my uses are concerned.
