I would not recommend this product to others based on my experience. Potential buyers beware of its short lifespan and charging issues.

This was a gift for my grandson and he absolutely loves it!

This is a very handy little speaker. The sound it creates will make you think that it is a much larger speaker than it is 360 degrees of sound means you can hear it from every angle. A bit of clipping and distortion at high volume but playing around with the EQ in the App I was able to make it sound better. I really like that about it. Bass is not as good as I would like, but it does the job for the most part. You can pair it up with 150 additional Ultimate Boom speakers (Version 2 or Version3) for even more sound. I was not able to test out that functionality since I only have one. The speaker is IP67 rated (water proof and sand proof) for up to 30 minutes in 1 meter of water, but that part doesn’t matter really since it floats. That would come in handy if you are boating and happen to drop this overboard. Also, the Bluetooth range is great, I was able to get about 100 feet away and it still was streaming my music, but this was with a clear view of the speaker. The magic button is pretty awesome as well. You can use the App to create a playlist and simply hit the magic button and it will start your playlist, you don’t even have to touch your phone and of course it also functions to pause/play/FF music. There is also a place to hook it onto something which really comes in handy as well. Charging via the included USB micro cable from either a computer port (will take a while) or my Samsung Note8 wall adapter was fast to fully charge. This is rated to have a 15 hour battery which will easily last most parties.

So Far of 3 of these Speakers 1 of them turned out to be unreliable and just stopped working.

I purchased this BT speaker and returned because I wasnt able to get more than an hour and a half off a charge. I exchanged it with the hopes it was a bad speaker and had the same result. What's even worse is if the battery is drained you can't use it plugged in without the charge.

As an owner of multiple UE speakers over the years including the Blast ( basically the Boom 2 with Alexa,) I was not expecting much of a difference in the Ultimate Ears Boom 3 . I feel that most speakers updates are incremental at best. That is true to a point, companies like Ultimate Ears have mastered the sound quality for speakers. Every Ultimate Ears speaker in the “Boom” line has great, powerful sound. If you never owned a quality bluetooth speaker, you will be shocked at how much sound this speaker can produce in a small package. It can easily fill a medium sized room like a living room. So what is the difference between the new Boom 3 and it’s predecessor and the competition. First it is IPX67 rated ( water proof) and floats in water. Most people could not care less if it floats but a completely water proof design is a nice touch that you will not appreciate until you accidentally spill a drink on your speaker. The speaker has a button that you can chain together multiple Boom speakers to cover large areas. Another feature that is welcome addition is what UE calls the “Magic Button”. The button allows you to play, skip or pause songs. Additionally you can access Apply playlists ( up to 4) that are set in UE app. In looking a the build quality and looks, you will be impressed with the quality. The Boom 3 is solid as a rock with good tactile buttons and stylish finish of knitted fabric mesh. So the million dollar question is it worth it? Yes and no. If you already own a UE Boom 2, no there is not enough differences to justify an upgrade. However, if you are in the market for a quality bluetooth speaker ; look no further than an Ultimate Ears Boom 3. But before you jump in , ask yourself do you need a quality bluetooth speaker or do you need a quality bluetooth “Smart” speaker. I say that because last year’s Blast model has basically the same sound quality but adds Alexa. If you do not need a smart speaker, you really cannot do better than the Boom 3 or the Megaboom 3 for a larger sound. If you need a smart speaker – go with the Blast. Regardless of which model you choose, you cannot go wrong with Ultimate Ears speakers.

Ultimate ears makes some of the best Bluetooth speakers, hands down. It's one of those products you buy knowing it will work well. The sounds on this thing is Rich and full. I have it hooked up to an Apple TV and use it as the main audio source for the Apple TV and it works perfect. It's just small enough to stay out of the way but, that doesn't hinder it's ability to fill the room with great sound. The build quality of the boom 3 is top notch. It feels solid and well made. It definitely feels like it will last for a while. The water proofing makes me feel even better about taking this speaker around wherever I go. I can't think of a reason why I wouldn't recommend this product. It looks great,sounds great, great battery life, and is water proof. Not sure what more you could ask for from a Bluetooth speaker. Highly recommend.

Dies within a hour. The BOOM 2 is better quality. I wish I would have purchased that one instead. I even tried exchanging it and got another one samething happened. I’m so disappointed

Way too new and high quality brand to still be using micro usb. As soon as I looked at the micro USB port I said well that is getting returned.

Sound quality was poor. The speaker seemed to struggle when set at high volume.

I don’t know where to start. I got this speaker when it first came out in mid to late 2018. I have used it every single day since because every time I shower I like to play music. This speaker is sprayed and hit by water every day and about every month I go to the river in AZ especially during the summer and it is constantly being played at full volume for hours in the hot sun at temperatures exceeding 115. Just last week I took it there and a couple buddies and I went paddle boarding with a floating cooler. My speaker sat loosely on the cooler and it fell into the canal after going over some wake. The speaker floated about 100-125 Yards (about 300 feet!!) while still playing music and we found it. We then proceeded to use it right after and it worked just as it did the day I got it. It has also fallen in snow, rolled down sand dunes, and has been dropped a number of times. The size is perfect especially since it fits in the cup holder of the golf cart we drive around the neighborhood and the sound it delivers is comparable and if not better than the Bose soundlink mini 2 which I have had and the JBl Charge 4 which I have also had experience with. You are getting so much for the price especially if you are someone like me who uses it heavily and abuses it, you will not be disappointed. I would give this a 10/5 if I could because there is nothing bad I can honestly say about this speaker.

Horrible battery switched to the Bose one and it’s amazing

It’s cheap as can be like is came straight from China. Worst money I’ve spent yet

it did not sound as loud as a speaker should be !!!
