Ms. Jackson Is Back With A Vengeance!

I didn't know if she could pull it off, but this time, Ms. Jackson fires a salvo and causes a five-alarm fire! Think of this CD as a kind of part 2, of her 1993 "janet." CD. So that means love and sexuality, social awareness, and another twangy, early 1970's flavored song ("Gon' B Alright") like "What'll I Do" was from that earlier masterpiece. Even her interludes this time are brillant; giving a feeling of coming over to her and her new husband's house and really talking about how things have been with her. And best of all, it returns her to the songwriting and producing team of Terry Lewis and James Harris III, which has almost always given her strength. But the 'salvo' is that all of this R&B and dance goodness is on her own label! Rythym Nation Records (in association with the newly free of Sony Music, BMG Distribution). She now joins a very elite group of women who have their own label. Wow! Oh, and in case you were wondering, her voice and her beauty have never been in better shape! "Broken Hearts Heal", "Night", "Take Me Away", "Lessons Learned", & "Black Eagle" are all songs that proved that to me. Cool, sophisticated, sexy, warm. That's how I'd describe "Unbreakable".

    Funkier than expected

I found the album was a mix of pop eras. There are songs that remind me of late 70 disco to 90's pop I feel like she reached back on this album. I don't think the funky disco tunes suit her. I'm used to a more aggressive pop music Janet. I really enjoyed it though as a whole. There are not a lot of stand out songs that I want to hear over and over again on repeat. It was good but perhaps I was expecting a great album. As a life long fan of the artist I'm used to her progressing musically in her genre and I just didn't feel like a got anything new from her on this one. If you like Janet you will like this album however I'm not so sure if your a new fan. You should listen before you buy on this one if your a new fan.

Teaming back up with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis was definitely what Janet needed to get back on track. This is a very strong album and though it won't be popular in the way her 80's and 90's albums were that is a sign of the times and not the quality of the work. There are some stellar singles here but this is one that it is best to listen to in sequence. My only issue with it is the fact that she has never sounded more like Michael and that takes some getting used to but you eventually do.

I glad I purchased this CD. I think this effort is one her best cds since the "All For You" cd. She is also sounding more like her brother Michael in some of the songs. I don't know it that's intentional or not, but I like. One of my favorite songs is Burn It Up (featuring Missy Elliott). It's one of her signature dance grooves. Another one is "Broken Hearts Heals Stronger"...a good ballad.

Absolutely AWESOME!!!!! PERIOD. It is the classic Janet we fell in love with. The smooth R&B and groove music is everything amongst all the manotinus tech synthesized autoned "music" today.

Bought this album because it was a good price. It is very listenable, but I found myself checking to see if Michael was sampled on a lot of tracks because the vocals sound so much like his. Favorite track so far is "Broken Hearts Heal".

Janet has done it yet again. She continues to collaborate with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and come up with amazing music. "Unbreakable" is just another link in that ever growing chain of R&B/Pop perfection. A an absolute must have to your music collection. Well done!!

After you get over the fact that her voice is sounding nasal like her brother, you'll realize how good of a cd it is. I haven't stopped listening to it for the past three weeks.

Great cd from Janet. I was surprised how much this cd sounds like Rhythm Nation and her other cds. She has not lost her touch. A must have cd to add to your collection.

This Janet Jackson cd is the typical Janet Jackson cd - it does not disappoint. Some great tracks are "Take Me Away," the catchy "Dammn Baby," and I enjoy "Lessons Learned." If you are a Janet fan, you will be happy with this cd!
