This radar detector is great, user friendly and very accurate

I have had the Uniden R3 for over 3 years now. Great for catching X, K, and Ka bands, Ka bands especially. My only gripe is the Laser detection seems to go off in the middle of no where and seems unreliable in the Laser detection facet. I had to disable the laser detection mode completely through the settings. Other than that, its paid itself off 20 times over :) I want arrows now though

I ordered this for my sons car, then moved it to mine to continue setup and testing. I have a V1 gen 1 in my car and my wife has a V1 gen 2 in hers. I’ll be returning this in the next few days and just order a V1 gen 2 for my car and moving the old one to my son’s. I’m in an area where I can’t disable K or X bands… X really isn’t the issue. The K band is absolutely unusable on this. On 100% K, I get an alarm every 30 seconds, new car or old car, everywhere I go around our farm lands. I reduce the sensitivity to 60% and it gets rid of most alarms, but still an occasional 24.079 K band. Every automated shopping door alarms it. Turning K to narrow helps. When driving through small towns where houses are very close to the road, non stop K alarms and occasional X alarms. Neither of our V1’s do any of this. Gen 1 never false alarms, but probably misses a handful of cop radar. The Gen 2 alarms if you pull up to one specific Dollar General in our area, and used to alarm in our downtown in one spot, until V1 put out their most recent update. The R3 update process is too cumbersome, it’s way too chatty, and just seems like the old 90’s detectors that just constantly alarm. The GPS thing is really just a gimmick and has zero use if you’re driving new areas alot. With proper support and updates, these detectors are much more effective and falses go away. Really, save up $520 and order a V1.

Absolutely love this and recommend it !! My husband got the higher end (almost $500) one at the same time and the only down side to mine is that it doesn’t show on my screen where the radar is..his does. Mine does have longer range tho for sure.it’s paid for its self already in a couple short months !also love the many color options !

I really like this radar detector. I own several including a Escort 360, and this is half the weight and just as sensitive as the Escort, and less expensive. One recommendation is to do a factory reset on the device before attempting to use it because it comes out of the box in some sort of demo mode and will not take any setting changes until you first do a factory reset.

I recently purchased the Uniden R3 radar detector, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations in many ways. The standout feature for me is its exceptional range, providing ample warning well in advance of any potential threats. The long-range detection capabilities make it a reliable companion on the road, offering peace of mind during long drives.

Great sensitivity. Be prepared for lots of false positives from speed sensing sign warnings. No way around that as they are automated radar detectors. Combine with Waze and you will have lots of warning

Have owned The R1 and R3. Both lost sound thru both the external speaker and the headphone Jack within 15 months. On my second unit (R3) I purchased the Best Buy 2 year extended warranty in addition to the factory Uniden warranty because of the premature failure of the R1. Was worth it as now I have had to move to the R7 in hopes that it will last a little longer than the other 2. Had to pay the difference between the R3 and R7. All the units are super sensitive and provide excellent protection from K and Ka police Radar exceeding the prior Valentine and Escort models. but the competitor's models both last forever. I have witnessed an Escort 360 Come off a Mototcycle at speed, tear the plastic protector off the forward facing horn and it still works.. No excuse for Uniden (a seasoned electronics manufacturer) to produce something shoddily constructed. As mine were babied in my truck and have never been dropped or otherwise abused. In short. Great long range detector but only when it is working. Beware Screen Burn In and Speaker Failure or... Buy the Extended Warranty and relax.!! You'll probably want one of the new Artificial Intelligence models they are working on in a couple years anyway. Lol. **purchase date 8/24/2020 refers to R7 unit**

As described, this is a very long range radar detector, it sights the cops radar gun from far, best way to avoid speeding tickets.

This radar does it all. It has GPS a long range detector and if you don’t want other to know you have a radar it is undetectable.

Have done testing with this against our Max 360 and it picks up all police radar, especially Ka-band, long before our Max 360 does.

The best radar by far , used it in my friends car for a week and worked how we wanted to work but I couldn’t connect it to my truck because J don’t have a 12V so that’s the reason why I returned it.

this is by far my favorite radar it detects cops a VERY LOnG way, it works even better on a straight road... it’ll definitely pay off in time due to tickets y’all coulda received for not having this product!

Great deal when on sale. A bit over priced for everyday prices. Very basic. No real options. Good for beginners i guess. Good windshield mount. Good for Jeeps vertical windshield.

the item works really well at detecting police signals, only thing that can get annoying are automatic doors but it doesn’t bother me much. but over all i would definitely recommend this product

This detector has great sensitivity and gives very good notice of radar. I will reconsider this in the future if the filters to nearby newer cars can be bettered. Overall works great if it could filter the junk.
