Must have product THE BEST VALUE MANEY RADAR DETECTOR EVER

This was my first radar detector purchase about a month ago and I am very happy with it. There are tons of options in the settings to detect all sorts of bands including laser and it detects these signals in a pretty far radius. I'm not one to speed too often but this can definitely save you some money from tickets in the long run.

The R3 is a beast it detects front and back and get`em a long way. a must have.

I have this and the Uniden R1. No real difference except for the GPS, which doesn't seem that useful to me. The problem with this unit is the false alarms. Whether on the highway or in the city, not a minute goes by without the blaring blast of K band. Both before and after the latest update it was a constant stream of these false alarms. I had an older Beltronics that didn't go off nearly as often. The only saving grace (for my situation) is that you can turn both X band and K band off completely. I am only lucky that in my area law enforcement generally only uses Ka band and not K band. Otherwise I would have returned this after one day. I wouldn't recommend it though. Reading reviews there are other detectors out there that have fewer false alarms. If you need it for K band find another detector.

On a recent trip from Texas to Florida, and back, this thing has already paid for itself. Nice to be able to filter out K and X bands totally--Most likely no body uses those any more for speed enforcement

This Uniden Radar Detector works great. It does a very good job at picking up radar guns. Yes, it picks up other frequencies but it does a good job at making them quiet and not annoying. Would highly recommend.

I have another and its a great tool to have no issues

It works well and definitely saved me from a few tickets, just make sure you turn off all other bands except ka, oherwise itll go off all the time. The laser detector wont go off till it's too late, but for that youd want a jammer anyway. My only complaint with this is you don't know what direction the radar is coming from. But I guess that's why uniden came out with the r7.

My girlfriend bought this for me for Christmas and I was at first disappointed that it was not an Escort Passport. I always considered them to be the best. She said that a Best Buy associate actually recommended the Uniden over the Escort. I checked out the reviews and the BB associate was correct and this thing is awesome!

Works great for Ka band in my city, avoids false alarms and has mute option button which is great. I like the original window mount, but comes with fancy mount too. Case is nice as well, I always keep mine secure when leaving the car.

I'm very please with both the range and the filtering of the R3. I get very few false signals during highway driving. The menu system is very comprehensive and allows lots of customization. I especially like the ability to set the detector to mute below a set speed. I set mine to 20 mph, which keeps it quiet when I'm driving near shoppings centers where there are many extraneous signals.

I couldn't decide between this and the Escort. I have owned Escorts for 25 years and never looked at another brand. This one had great reviews and had a greater detection distance than the Escort. It does detect Ka band from far away. Now the K band. This thing will go off all the time in K band. It gets annoying. It seems to pick up park assist/lane departure/radar cruise control systems on every car around you along with automatic doors on businesses (which I haven't had any warnings in years on my older Escorts). You will want to turn off the K band for sanity.

Decent radar. One negative is, It doesn't tell you which direction the radar threat is coming from. It has saved me from at least one ticket in the past six months, so its paid for itself. I believe the best part is that it makes me drive more aware of my surrounds and I actually find myself slowing down more. Its kind of a speeding preventer for me. If that makes sense. I would recommend getting the best radar you can afford.
