Sound is in then out. If you can run and hide the wires, it's best to do so!

Was skeptical due to some of the reviews citing DOA, poor sound, popping noises etc. but couldn't resist the $69 sale price @ BB. Very happy I bought it. It's fed by an older Panasonic 6.1 channel receiver and feeds two Bose speakers from an Acoustamass set. I chose to not connect the sub woofer from the set as not much bass emminates from the surround channels, Setup took just a few minutes, only hard part was getting behind the TV stand to connect the wireless xmtr to the receiver which is at floor level.. Once connected to speakers and receiver I powered it up and it immediately connected and I had a room full of surround sound. I turn it off when not being used and it reconnects immediately every time I turn it back on. Have had no interference problem with any of my other 2.4 ghz devices which include a wireless phone system, wireless router, wireless security system and 7 other WIFI devices. Also no popping noises at any level regardless of how volume control on the AV receiver or the Rocketfish receiver are set. There seems to be more than enough power out from the Rocketfish to drive the surround speakers at levels higher than you would normally use for surround speakers. Pandora and surround enabled video from Amazon, Netflix and Blu-Ray is amazing. Of course Bose has a lot to do with that but the garbage in-garbage out rule still applies. I've only had it for 2 days now so can't speak to longevity but have had very good experience with other Rocketfish WIFI and Blutooth devices. Now I'm looking for a single channelwireless kit to connect the rear speaker to utilize the complete the Panasonic's 6.1 capability. It's worth noting that 100' of 16awg speaker wire runs about $60 and then you have to hide the wires etc.

The speaker wire spring clamps would not hold in the speaker wires. The wires kept slipping out, and there is no way to tighten in place. I gave up the fight after several of the spring clamps popped out while inserting the wires. I returned the device and ended up running wires along the floor.

I have used this setup for a few weeks now and am very impressed with the unit. The whole setup is very small and won't take up much space either in your entertainment cabinet or behind your couch. It comes with everything you need to use the system with your existing surround sound, even some speaker wire. The transmitter is black and matches my surround sound receiver. The speaker reciever comes with a stand and even has the capability of being mounted on the wall. I have not noticed any type of sound degradation compared to the wired connection I used before. The only complaint is the transmitter has a red light on the front to let you know the receiver is wirelessly connected, though the light isn't bright in can be a distraction when watching a movie in the dark. This light should have been positioned on the back of the transmitter. This is not a big problem since the tranmitter can be hidden and still work. I got this for $80 on Black Friday and was a little skeptical but when I got them home was pleasantly surprised. Knowing what I know now I would definately pay full price for it and suggest it to anyone wanting to get rid of the speaker wires run all over your house.

I think this must've been a returned item, because the connector for one of the speakers was broken, and it refuses to pair up with the transmitter. Unfortunately, I threw the receipt and the packaging away, or I would've returned it immediately.

This may shock you, but this product actually works precisely like it is described in the specifications. One thing I noticed in reading the reviews is that the Rocketfish wireless transmitter sends its signal on the 2.4 GHz frequency, which is the same frequency used by wireless 802.11(n) transmissions. Thus, in some situations, given specific environmental conditions in your operating environment, there may be wireless interference while using this product. That being said, I have not experienced such issues so far and I have two wireless devices sitting right next to the wireless transmitted for these speakers. I bought this to send a signal from my A/V receiver to a whole different room, as a kind of work-around for second zone sound on an A/V receiver. At $80 on Black Friday for a new product (and $80 otherwise, open box) that can't be beat. Basically, I am a huge sports fan and wanted to listen to the game while I was in the shower. When I tested these out, they worked so well I had to actually use them for their intended purpose: the back two channels in a surround sound set up. Please note, if your room is set up such that you must use wireless for the side two channels as opposed to the rear two channels, this product can handle that, too. Just use your imagination. You can literally send an audio signal anywhere. This is kind of a cheap work-around for a Sonos system as it allows a set of speakers to be placed wireless in another location, not in a line of sight with the audio source, and to be controlled by the same method which controls the audio source. The sending unit and receiving unit are paired at the factory (per the instruction manual) so you do not have to mess around with pressing buttons or getting onto your router and setting IP addresses, etc. Overall, I'd recommend the product. You can have this up and running in five minutes, tops. Please note: both the sending unit and receiving unit require a power input, so mentally note the placement of your electrical outlets and be sure to plan accordingly. The unit comes with only one set of approximately 18" speaker wire, so you must have speaker wire to connect the opposite sender/receiver unit.

Bought for the wife on Mother's Day Will not work unless within ten/15 feet. Cuts out or will not work at all beyond that range. Bought to drive some outside speakers. Will not work for that application. Might work across living room.

After recently getting a 5.1 surround sound theatre system, I was looking for a way to set everything up without having speaker wires running across the floor of our living room. Other than trying to avoid the bad appearance of having wires running across the floor, we were also trying to avoid damage, from people walking on them, tripping over them and having them chewed up by our dog. After finding this Rocketfish wireless speaker kit in the store, I bought it and gave it a shot. It was extremely easy to setup and the sound quality is incredible. I haven't experienced any hum coming from the speakers at all. One thing I love about this is the independent volume dial on the amplified receiver for the rear speakers. It allows easy adjustments to the back speaker volume that can be complicated on some soundsystems. If the price tag is holding you back, just know that for the ease and quality of this system is far better than trying to run wires under an area rug or under all of the baseboards of your room. This sounds great and keeps your room looking nice without any trouble.

This wireless system did not work for us. We ended up returning it and hardwiring our rear speakers. There were no questions with our return and our speakers now work wonderfully.

The product has worked well for me. I have 2 units, up and downstairs, for 2 different Home theaters. I bought the first well over a year ago (slightly different than current model) and the second a few months ago. I expect BB to drop this unit in favor of it's more profitable higher priced new brother, The Rocketboost Wireless HD Audio Starter Kit. Just a guess, as The Universal Wireless Rear Speaker Kit does a respectable job for a third to half of the price of the HD. It is a very handy way to keep wires confined. That said you will still have to run wires from the receiver to the speakers so it works best if there is a way to hide the rear cords. The product appears to be made a little on the cheap side but it does the job, otherwise i would have probably given it 5 stars.

These work as promised. Setup was quick and easy after i recalibrated the receiever to account for additional recievers. Based on the Den's configuration wires to rear speakers would have never been possible without drilling holes in the hardwood floors or walls. Very happy with this product.

I was looking for a way to set up rear speakers in my basement without having to run wires and this did the trick. I was skeptical because I have wi-fi in my house and was concerned about interference from it and cordless phones. I haven't experienced any interference at all...the rear sound is clear without ANY hiss (despite what I expected). I have the transmitter and receiver about 15' apart. Overall, I am very satisfied. The red Power On light on the receiver is a bit annoying, but a piece of black electrical tape solved that problem. I am using a 10 year old JVC receiver to power Infinity SM80 front speakers and JBL Balcony Series rear speakers.
