Take all the horror movie tropes and put them into a point and click video game setting and you essentially have Until Dawn. The scares are mostly jump scares versus psychological ones, but that doesn't take away from the thrills this game can give you. You won't like all 8 characters but they are all interesting in their own right. (My personal favorite was Ashley) The butterfly effect system is a great way to really give the player a sense of choice and it helps the replay value as no 2 playthroughs are exactly the same. I definitely reccommend this game to any hardcore gamer and to anyone who's a fan of slasher flicks or story based games

great graphics, story was entertaining and the butterfly effect choice options was very well thought out. The pre order bonus chapter that's in between chapter 2 and 3 was a nice surprise to the story and added more to the two characters.

This game is like you are in the middle of a horror movie and can make multiple decisions with each effecting the ending. There's tons of different endings. Fun and cheap!

If you are a fan of horror games and movies, I recommend Until Dawn. Good story, excellent graphics, good controls with lots of quick time events. If you enjoy a creepy, story-driven game with lots of jump scares, check this game out.

This game is more interactive movie than game, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it. You get to play multiple characters and there are A LOT of quick-time-events to keep you on your toes and jump scares. I would go into this game with the mindset that's it's a long movie where you occasionally dictate the action, then a game that's all action like Resident Evil or The Evil Within. As of this review, I have not yet beaten it (I'm on chapter 9), but I can already see that replayability is high to see how different choices play out.

Came across this on sale one day, and got it for less than $20 with my GamersClub Unlocked perk, too. The format of the game is basically the same as Heavy Rain; dialogue choices with the occasional QTE is the foundation of the game. However, this doesn't make the game any less interesting or fun. In my opinion it's what makes the game shine. There are 8 total characters in the game that, through your choices, you try to get them to survive until dawn--or not depending on how you want to story to play out. And since there are so many different characters and so many different options the game has a respectable amount of replay value.

Until Dawn has been very enjoyable to play. The outcome of the story based on your choices is a great twist to traditional games that end the same for everyone. If you have a PS4 don't miss out on this one. It's a nice change of pace.

Until Dawn was a great suprise to me on how good it was, I went in knowing that it'd be like a B horror movie esque story and choice based gameplay. However this game is a lot more than that, while it definitely has those horror movie tropes, it also has some great character development moments sprinkled in there too. The gameplay is pretty simple in that you just kind of walk around find collectibles and make choices that advance the story, but it's the overall impact of your choices that make it really interesting. Even the smallest of choices can lead to a character's grusome demise. In short, the game is fantastic and comes highly reccomended.

A game that I bought not knowing how good it would be. A true horror game with so many outcomes all by your choices. Say good bye to linear and say hello to branched off possibilities where no one can die or everyone can.

I wrote a full review over at Confident Gamers, but in a nutshell LOVED THIS GAME! Being a fan of scary movies and the horror game genre, Until Dawn tickled both those itches all in on good looking package. Until Dawn is one of those games that makes great to play as a party game. Invite some folks over who have never heard of or played the game, start it up and put the controller in their hands. It’s easy enough for a non-gamer to play with ease as others watch and yell at the screen. Until Dawn is a game that is well worth its price tag and offers up a chance to replay over and over even if it’s just to experiment who lives or dies.

This is a great game! I finished it pretty fast, but there are so many different ways to beat it so you can play it over & over again. It was a great story too.

Until Dawn - PlayStation 4, seems to be entertaining so far. I like how each choice you make can end up changing how things turn out. With multiple ways for the game to go, I don't see it getting old to quickly.

The game is essentially playing a horror B-Movie, but it's a lot of fun. It's all about your choices and because the game is pretty short (7 hours or so), you'll want to replay the game to see what other choices will get you.

This game plays very well, and is beyond gorgeous. The story is amazing. Well written and well acted. I enjoyed my multiple playthroughs, as each time something different would happen even from the smallest changes in choices.

This game is primarily my wife's as I'm too chicken to play it. Really good graphics (Motion Captured), and cool story. Kind of hard to control characters due to camera angles.

Very good game. You chose what actions to take. Each action can change the story line. You may have to finish the game a couple of time to see all the endings. Chose wisely.

Some of the best motion capture and graphics ever. The characters look like the real actors. Many jump scares and tense moments lead you threw a story you want to stop playing

It's like playing a horror movie. I liked the butterfly effect aspect of the game. It was cool to see the professional actors. The bonus features were a nice touch, too.

This is a must have for those that like suspenseful games with a few twists and jump scares. The game is very well done and the story and butterfly effect tie in very nicely.
