I started with the Jawbone UP Move which is a clip on tracker however I desired something that would do more than just track my steps and sleep . The Jawbone UP4 does it it tracks my heart rate and my active vs idle time along with my sleep quality and it also works with my fitness pal app to track your food intake and caloric output. I actually bought two one for myself and one for my husband they both work exceptionally well the only thing I would change is the clasp it comes open way too easy when you are active. I didn't think about that on my review of the one I got for my husband but I have been more than a little upset by this on many occasions thank goodness it hasn't gotten lost, it is usually in my coat sleeve or it falls to the ground when I am doing aerobics.

It also has the ability to work with my fitness pal app to track your food intake and caloric output also adds a food score to help you understand the overall quality of the food you have eaten in the day.

Tracks activity, steps, heart rate and sleep. Sleep shows light, deep and REM sleep. Shows you calories burned and with the up app allows you to track calories eaten.

The Pros: Great/easy to use user application, sleek design, sleep tracking is detailed, smart alarm was wonderful - never felt more rested at 5am in my life! The Cons: No digital readout (wasn't a big deal for me since I carry my phone everywhere), sizer does not stay tight after 1st week, clasp does not stay closed after 1st few days (i used a rubber band to fix that), plastic on both sides of the tracking mechanism cracks and breaks within 2months of use. I was a fitbit user, but switched to the pricier UP4 because I wanted to be able to wear my device in the shower. I don't wear watches so I would often forget to put the tracker back on after the shower. Polar is the only other well known tracker that has one made for swimming - but i didn't like the look of the device. My first tracker I owned for 2 wks before it stopped working. After a 1hr call to Jawbone support I was sent another (supposedly the device was faulty). I have owned my 2nd device for less than 2 months and the plastic around the tracking mechanism cracked and broke while sleeping. :(
