The creators of this projector must have jumped ahead in time and come back with some good ideas for build efficiency and quality because this projector is exceedingly nice for the price in the market today and has some outstanding features that even beat out projectors I have reviewed that are triple its price! First of all, the image quality is stunning. Playing 1080p HDR videos from YouTube such as some of the LG screen quality test videos, I was blown away by the standard brightness of this monitor on our 100” projector screen in our bedroom. The colors were truly outstanding without bleached-out white tones, and the screen picture mode of “movie” proved to be our favorite for visual quality. An interesting connection we noticed on the brightness settings is that the fan ramps up quite loud on the highest brightness mode, while standard brightness is quieter and eco is the quietest on the fan. This didn’t affect our experience too much either way, as the fan noise is not obnoxiously loud, but I felt it was worth mentioning to users. The auto keystone and focus correction features on this projector are also incredible. They are super precise and even for our projector screen that is at an elevated angle in our bedroom more than 12 feet away from the projector, it was able to pick up the borders of the screen and adjust the image to fit the projector screen perfectly! I like that one can also select whether to have it auto-focus and keystone with each start-up or move. One of the standouts of this projector is the incredibly loud and clear speakers that are built in! I have not to date tested a projector that has speakers as loud and as sufficient as this for filling even a large living room with sound! While these speakers have no soundbar or bass-connected audio setup competition, I feel like the built-in speakers are perfectly sufficient for most users’ needs and will leave them satisfied. Further to this is the fact that this projector can act as a standalone Bluetooth-connected speaker for your phone or other Bluetooth devices! This is excellent and even further enhances the versatility of this projector. I could see how well this would fit into the use case for an all-in-one entertainment device for a small apartment or AV room. Set up on this speaker was also super easy, and the Google suite of features are just excellent. I love that the included remote is set up for voice assistant out of the box and that you even have access to some of the most common video services of the day on the remote! The only negative I have, and a very small one at that, is the lack of batteries included with the remote. Come on, Vankyo! Even my daughter’s $15 electric talking doll included two AAA batteries! Altogether, I have absolutely no problem rating this projector 5/5 stars. At this price, I just cannot imagine you going wrong. I have reviewed projectors in this price range, and I have been unable to find a competitor that has ALL these features gathered together in one projector! I 100% would recommend you give it a try for your entertainment or small business needs!

The Vankyo V700 Neo is a standard throw compact projector that serves as a budget projector entry. I used the V700 Neo with my 92” fixed projector screen in the basement. Available image specs for the projector are fairly light so did my best to fill in the missing info. Specs: Resolution: 1920x1080p (FHD) Refresh Rate: 60Hz Input Lag: ~24ms (my rough measurement) Screen Distance: 4-20ft Screen Size: 40”@4ft to 100”@10’ Brightness: 400 lumen - No HDR support Contrast: 5000:1 Light Source: LED Bulb Life: 20,000 hours Throw Type: Standard Throw OS: Google TV Connectivity: (1) HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 port, (1) USB Type A, (1) 3.5mm audio out, Bluetooth, WiFi Sound: (2) 8W onboard speakers To start off the V700 Neo is a 1080p capable projector that outputs at 400 lumens of peak brightness. It is a compact size to make it easily portable from room to room, but not quite small enough to consider it truly portable mini projector. The projector body is 11.25” wide, 10.25” deep, 6” high, and weighs in just under 8lbs. There is a small threaded leveling foot on the front to help level/point the unit, which is better than stacking books under the front to get the correct angle. The foot threads out about 1”. The unit uses a single LCD projector bulb that is rated at 20,000 hours - this number drops if you have the brightness maxed out. I don’t see any replacement info, so I would bet if the LCD fails the projector would need to be replaced completely. The connections on the unit are pretty limited with just a single HDMI port, USB type A, and 3.5mm audio. The HDMI port does not appear to support ARC, and is likely just an HDMI 1.4 port. I connected it to my receiver with an HDMI cord to play my Xbox and Switch, but I could not get audio from the projector’s built-in apps. There are a few controls on the projector body for screen adjustments, but most controls are handled with the Bluetooth connected remote. The remote is not backlit, which is unfortunate since you are going to use it in a very dark room. Oddly enough they did not include batteries for the remote, so you will need to get 2-AAA batteries. The bottom of the projector also has a threaded insert for overhead mounting or can be used with a tripod. I used my heavy DSLR tripod to set the right height for the projector to match up with my screen. The projector also has built in 8W speakers, which can be used if you don’t have other audio options. Also included in the box are some long Q-Tips for cleaning and the instructions to do so. There is also the power brick, which is a laptop style power supply that has a removable C13 plugged cord. The removable cord is very short - less than 2 feet long. To reach the projector I had to go into my cord bin and bring out a 6’ C13 plugged cord. Positioning of the V700 was pretty easy thanks to the keystone adjustment process. I started locating the projector as best I could to align with my screen. I initially set it up on a stool before eventually switching to a tripod. My positioning was a little off angle from the center of my screen due to the location of my couch. To fill up my 92” screen I had the projector positioned about 8.5’ back from the screen, and about 2.5’ high. The center of my screen sits about 4.5’ high. To get the image centered I had to almost fully extend the foot and finish adjusting the image with the screen positioning controls. When the projector started up it projected the keystone positioning symbols and then automatically adjusted itself to the screen position/angle. I only needed to make some small adjustments to the position and focus of the image after this automatic process. System setup went fairly quick, and I didn’t have any issues with the Google TV process. My other projector is also Google TV based, so I knew what to expect. Getting logged in with my Google account pulled all of my streaming service info over, and didn’t require a bunch of service logins to accomplish. Overall, it only took 5ish minutes to setup and into an app. Switching around between apps and starting new movies/shows worked well. The interface is a little slow to react to the remote inputs but it isn’t egregious. I started out playing Across the Spiderverse – lots of dynamic colors and contrast going on, so it was a good piece of media to start with. My basement has a few windows (narrow basement windows) that I can fully blackout, but would let light in from the right side. I also have overhead can lighting broken into sections over the front (by the screen), middle (over seating), and back of the room. With the lighting on over the screen the image was really washed out in darker scenes. The 400 lumen brightness is not enough to overcome this. With the lights off at the screen, but on in the middle and back of the room the image was still getting washed out a little. You could certainly see everything except the really dark details. With all the lights off and the room blacked out the image was bright enough to see without any issues. Image quality out of this projector was better than I expected. I expected maybe some artifacting or bloom issues, but I didn’t really notice anything like that. I hooked up my PC and had my kids play a couple of games and test input lag. Playing casual games worked just fine. Minecraft worked well, and so did Plants vs. Zombies. Switching over to something more fast paced like Geometry Dash and TF2 was where the input lag took its toll. TF2 was still playable but you had to compensate a bit. Geometry Dash on the other hand was too affected to really be playable. The projector works well for casual games, but I would avoid playing anything fast paced or competitive on it. Setting the projector to peak brightness also kicks the fan on, which can be distracting if you only have the onboard speakers for sound. The onboard speakers are pretty weak even at max volume. A conversation in the same room could drown out even the most action packed sequences. I opted to connect it, via Bluetooth, to one of my portable speakers. This greatly improved the sound production, and provided enough sound for casual watching. I connected it to my receiver afterwards and had it playing on a full 7.1 system, which sounded great and provided a fuller movie watching experience. The screen you use plays a big role in the image quality. I currently have a Silver Ticket Products (STR-16992-G) 1.0 gain matte gray fixed frame screen that I use with my UST projector. Fixed frame screens provide the flattest surface you can project onto, and don’t have any surface issues that can distort the image. The 1.0 gain matte gray of my screen works against this projector a little bit as it slightly darkens the image. At 400 lumens I don’t need any darkening. A white screen with maybe a little more gain would suit it better depending on your viewing angles and room brightness. I also projected onto a flat white wall and had good results, which makes the case for this being a portable projector. I also took it outside and displayed it on the front of my garage door, which is a flat surfaced door. It worked well in this scenario, but I was definitely stretching the limits for the size of the image I could project. I can see using it for projecting a movie on Halloween while we hand out candy. All things considered this is a solid little projector. Its not perfect by any means but its more than serviceable. My biggest gripes are the non-backlit remote, and the lack of ARC support on the HDMI input. The projector itself isn’t the brightest, but if you give it a darkened room then it does a pretty good job. If you are on a budget you can reasonably skip the screen and project on a flat white wall, but using a screen improves the viewing experience.

I picked up this projector for my kids room as an alternative to a TV for space saving reasons as well as not having to worry about them breaking their TV. What really sold me on this projector was the Google TV which I have on another TV in my house that has served me well over the years. Overall this is a decent projector for someone that doesn't need a high end home theater setup. I imagine this would do very well for a travel projector for meetings and such in addition to a kids room. Here is a quick rundown. Pros: Compact Design Automatic Focus Google TV Fast OS Cons: Loud Fan Noise Brightness Subpar Speakers Build quality on this is pretty good. Its got a plastic body with a metal like finish. It has control buttons on the top (that aren't clicky) and comes with a remote. On the back you have your basic HDMI/Power/USB port as well as a 3.5mm audio jack that I highly recommend you use. The lens comes with a dust cover to help keep it clean, and they include a cleaning cloth in the box. The initial setup is a little lengthy but in my opinion worth it. Linking it to my Google account and doing a simple setup got me up and running with my favorite apps and access to my account that I needed. When first powered on the projector will go through its own setup, focusing the lens and making sure its level, removing a lot of the tinkering out that you would have with other projectors. This is a great feature to have, especially if you're going to have kids operating it. This process takes a few seconds on each startup and then you're good to go. Additionally, inside of the settings there are manual controls for tuning the picture. You can reposition it up/down/left/right a bit (I wish it could move more, but I understand the limitation), shrink or zoom the picture to fit your screen, and it even has an auto fit option for projector screens. Unfortunately the projector screen I ordered came in broken so I wasn't able to test that yet. The picture quality for this is pretty good. As I said the projector screen I ordered was broken so I'm waiting on the replacement, but testing it on the wall and on a white blanket hung up resulted in a decent picture. At roughly 50in its a nice crisp image, and at 100in it isn't as crisp but still enjoyable. My only complaint is that it isn't as bright as I would like. It is usable in a dimly lit room so its not too bad, but for optimal experience you want as little light as possible. It has a brightness setting within the settings that allows you to turn it up, but this results in the fan kicking in even louder which is pretty loud at its default settings. The only other complaint I have is the lack luster speakers. The speakers are Dolby Atmos certified but the sound quality isn't the greatest. I didn't expect much out of built in 8w speakers, but I had hoped these would be a little better. I'm going to end up installing a soundbar instead. They are usable, and my kids don't seem to mind, but I know it could be better with a cheap soundbar instead. Overall, pretty happy with this device and once I have the ceiling mount and new projector screen I'm sure my kids will be too.

Budget-conscious projector for fun cinema nights

Fourteen months ago, my high-end projector accidentally broke after an unexpected fall. Ever since, I’ve been missing family movie night on Fridays. In comes the Vankyo V700 Neo, a budget-friendly projector with Google TV and 1080p native resolution. In the box, the V700 Neo comes complete with a full featured remote control and an HDMI cable. The projector itself has two speakers on each side enhanced by Dolby Audio. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are two great features that enhance its value. On the top are a few screen control adjustments and a power button, and the back features one audio-out port, one HDMI and one USB-A ports. Set-up was easy and seamless. I plugged it, turned it on and pointed it at my 100-inch projector screen. First, it prompted me to pair the remote. Beside a few minor functions, everything else is done with the remote, and it works very well. It even has a voice command feature for Google Assistant. I activated the projector through my Google Home app which was quick. In a couple of minutes, I was scrolling through all my subscribed apps. For my everyday streaming, I use a Google TV streamer and the V700 Neo’s interface looks similar with the same capabilities. For the picture set-up, it would automatically measure the distance from the screen and run a short calibration image that worked perfectly. At a native 1080p, the quality of the image is good on my 100-inch screen, but at 400 lumens, I highly recommend watching in a dark environment, preferably at night. During daytime, even with all the blinds completely shut, the image would appear washed out. I connected a Blu-ray player and the image was of the same quality. The colors are decent for the value of this projector, not vibrant but the reproduction is accurate. I chose to set the image manually for better results. The stereo speakers deliver basic clear sound without bass or extreme highs. Somehow, I like it as they give out a “drive-in” theater vibe. I haven’t tried connecting it via Bluetooth to external speakers but using the audio-out port with my headphones provided great sound quality. The cooling fan can become loud during quiet scenes but it’s part of the charm of a traditional projector. In conclusion, the Vankyo V700 Neo has some limitations in terms of performance in bright environments and color accuracy. It is not high end, and not suitable for those looking for a sophisticated projector. However, at that price point, it performs above its weight when it comes to the ease of use, plus the inclusion of Google TV that gives access to thousands of apps right out of the box. It has been reliable, with hours of uninterrupted streaming and the whole family has been enjoying endless hours of fun cinema nights. It’s been a good addition to my household.

This Vankyo projector offers up a nice 1080p+HDR clarity that is ideal for a home theater setup. The built in Smart TV features such as Google TV make this even better since it can run all my streaming media content preferences. The small compact size offers a small footprint to be placed easily where I’d like it in my room. The light source is LED and the display technology is LCD. You get a nice clear video quality displayed onto your projector screen. In my setup it works ideally in a dark room setup or evening time if you have any windows in the room. This is capable of being mounted or installed in various front, rear, or ceiling placements depending on what is best for your particular setup. Included in the box is the V700 Neo projector, remote, HDMI cable, power adapter, and the user manuals. This projector is ready to use right out of the box and will walk you through the setup process to get your wifi connected and Google account setup. This gave me access to all my favorite apps and services such as YouTube, Prime, Netflix, and Disney+. You can access more than 10,000 apps since it's wifi connected. It has Dolby Audio coming from its 2 internal 8W speakers. I was able to connect my soundbar via bluetooth to take advantage of a more precise sound effect. I love the various auto features built in that keep the screen displaying the best visual quality; things like auto keystone, auto focus, auto obstacle avoid, and auto screen fit. The remote gives you access to voice controls with the simplicity of "hey Google," and you're finding what you want to watch. The brightness is 400 lumens, and the contrast ratio is 5000:1. Ideally it's a multi purpose projector for home theater, business, gaming, classroom, and backyard recreation because of it's easy portability and size. According to the specs it should provide about 20K hours of light source over the normal life of the bulb. The projector will display clear video that can go up to 100" and it's fantastic for a large display. Overall a good quality projector on a budget.

The Vankyo V700 Neo is versatile projector that you can use in big or small spaces while maintaining a clear picture. The setup for the V700 is a absolute breeze, all I had to do was plug in the power connector. The V700 Neo automatically adjusts the screen size and does the auto focus without any need for manual adjustments. Having owned a few projectors before, one of the most annoying things was making sure the projector was leveled vertically and horizontally, with the V700 I didn’t have to worry about it because how great the auto correction is. The clarity of the picture is nice and turning HDR on does make a noticeable difference with details. Everything I played from movies to sports looked great, even fast-moving scenes didn’t have any motion blur. There was no difference in clarity regardless of the screen size picked, up to 120 inches. Sound from the projector wasn’t bad, it was as good as you could accept from the small size. What is nice is that you can hard-wire or connect Bluetooth soundbars or speakers easily and there is no delay when connected via Bluetooth. Vankyo/Google TV allows you to increase dialogue if you need which is a nice touch. Google TV is excellent as all my apps connected easily and there was no issue with signing in . The only area for improvement is the buttons on the projector itself, they weren’t very responsive. At times the clicks registered and other times they don’t, the good thing is that the remote makes up for this. The remote is well built and uses Bluetooth so you don’t have to aim the remote at the projector for it to work. Vankyo has made a good projector that can be used in a room where there isn’t a lot of direct sunlight due to its 400 nits brightness. The auto adjustment features are second to none and the simplicity of setup and use makes it great for anyone.

I have mixed feelings about the Vankyo V700 Neo projector. Let me start with the positive features. The setup was very easy; all you need to do is sign in to your streaming services, and you’re ready to go. It comes with Google TV, which allows you to watch live TV for free. The picture quality is amazing, and the auto-focus feature is great because it adjusts automatically, so you don’t have to move anything around yourself. Additionally, you can connect your own speakers via Bluetooth. On the downside, I found the sound of the projector to be quite loud when it’s on, which I did not like. The built-in speaker is also pretty quiet; I can hardly hear it since it gets drowned out by the loud noise of the projector itself. Even at its highest volume setting, the sound is still low. Another issue I noticed is that if the projector experiences any sudden movement, it will auto-adjust, which is normal, but it often kicks me out of whatever I was watching. I found this particularly frustrating, as it usually glitches for a few seconds before returning to normal. Considering the price point of about $300, I feel like the projector could have performed better. Overall, it's a 7/10 projector. Using my own speakers minimizes the projector's noise.

Setup was fairly easy. Although I couldn’t get the google home app to recognize the QR code the projector was displaying on screen. I opted for manually entering Google credentials and then setup was relatively easy after that. It found our WiFi network and allowed for streaming via its built in Google TV apps. From a TV perspective it worked exactly like our normal wall mounted Google enabled TV. Remote and user interface are easy to use and intuitive, so if you have a Google enabled TV already, this will look and feel the same. I was able to also select a movie on an app and push/stream it from my tablet (iOS) easily. It also kept playing when I went into other apps on my iPad. The only thing I wasn’t able to get working that I was hoping for was to stream offline content to the projector. One of the uses I was hoping for is to use this outside at our cabin that has sparse cell signal. I wanted to download content to tablet and then stream from there. This didn’t work, but I wasn’t sure it would. (Next try via PC?) Picture is very good and nice and clear even when projecting a large image. I don’t recommend a sheet for best viewing quality, but rather a blank wall or screen. It’s built in speakers work fine. They aren’t very loud, but it’s nice that they are there to essentially plug and play out of the box and use standalone. That said, I did connect a good bluetooth speaker to the projector (via wireless bluetooth) and it easily connected and made our movie experience more sound immersive. It’s LED so didn’t get very hot which is also nice for a projector. It does have a built in fan to keep it cool that wasn’t too noisy. It has one height adjustment knob that unscrews out. For my needs I needed it to project up higher so I put it on a table with an additional book under it. It does also have wired connections for HDMI connection like a laptop or other media device and has audio 3.5mm out for headphones or speaker, but as mentioned above BT worked great. It also has a nice auto focus adjustment feature where it must be using a camera of sorts to project it’s image on a wall and then reads the image and automatically adjusts the focus depending on your projected image length and size which makes it super easy to reposition on the fly and use in different environments like back yard, or media room etc. All in all I’m pretty impressed for this price point, ease of use through BT and Google TV, image quality, and size of the projector makes it very portable.

Big improvement over projectors of the past

I last acquired a projector about 5 years ago and was frankly not impressed with the technology available at the time. My intention was to use it for entertaining my family with outdoor movies or projecting where a monitor was not readily available such as at a tailgate party. The image quality, connectivity, available content, ease of use, and convenience were just not there. Enter this Vankyo V700 Neo 1080p Projector with Google TV and Dolby sound. It changed my mind about projectors and I am really looking forward to using it in different scenarios. Setup was not quite as easy and fast as I would have liked, but my patience paid off. The delays were caused by the need to go find batteries for the remote which must be first paired to the projector before you can proceed (you cannot set it up without the remote and it is unusual to have a product ship without batteries nowadays), the time to set up a location in my office where I could project and be able to read the text on the wall well enough to continue the setup process, and the actual setup process which took several minutes (it is a one-time process). Once I got to the main menu and began to customize the projector, things moved quickly and I was soon connected to my Google account, which I found to be the quickest way to test displaying content. The first improvement I noticed was the focusing process. It features an auto adjustment process which reads the focus test images and adjusts. I was very happy with the sharpness of this result. The other benefits are many: - Ability to add your existing apps such as YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Apple TV, Max, Hulu, etc. to the programming options. Just log on as you would with any of these services on a new monitor/display and you are soon streaming all your available content. - Google Assistant - obstacle avoidance: if you have an uneven surface the projector will adjust to correct for the obstacle - various connection options: you can still use an HDMI connection to input from any HDMI sources well as WiFI and casting from a device such as your Apple device, PC, or Chromebook using Google Cast - Bluetooth speaker connection: this last one is very important. Event though the projector comes with a built-in speaker, it is just not powerful enough, especially if you plan to use this for a large audience or outdoors (camping with the kids). An extra speaker is a must to truly enjoy this product. Overall, I am very happy with this Vankyo projector and plan to have lots of fun using it.

WHEN YOU WANT MORE MOVIE AREA

The Vankyo V700 Neo 1080P Projector is what you get when you need more movie area to entertain your family. This project makes it easy to have a large viewing area without breaking the bank and gives you a very brilliant looking display. For what you get in the box you can not go wrong with this projector. Setting this projector up could not be any more straight forward. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get started with the Vankyo V700. The most time was spent setting up my apps, such as YouTube and Netflix just to name a few. I used a stand which made leveling and picking the perfect distance for a nice vivid picture was easy. Also, using a stand makes this projector very versatile. Watching movies on the V700 makes for a new exciting experience. Having an approximate 72 inch viewing area is amazing! The autofocus feature is not like anything I have ever seen and with this added feature makes this thing top notch. I used my home stereo system to play the audio and it was just like I was in my personal movie theater. I will say that having low light when watching a show is ideal. With light it tends to dull the picture. With that being said, this is now my new favorite way to watch movies. Having the ability to stream movies without linking to a laptop or smartphone is a huge plus. As a teenager I loved drive in theaters and I haven’t seen one in years. So, I got with some friends and we set up a make shift drive in theater. We all have side by sides and set the Vanyko up in a little place we have in the woods and used an inverter quite generator a huge Sony party speaker for there area. We strung the screen between a couple of trees and had an amazing time, grilling, eating, laughing and reliving our glory days. If you haven’t experienced a projector, don’t think twice. Pick up the Vankyo V700 and you will not regret it. I’m 100% sure after my friends got to experience this on a few will be picked up very shortly. I have really enjoyed this projector and I’m so happy that I have this and look forward to using it much more.

I'll cut straight to the chase. This projector impressed me a whole lot, given its price point and never hearing of this brand before. I was expecting mediocre projection quality, limited settings, poor audio, and difficult setup/navigation. My whole experience with this Vankyo v700 Neo projector has been nothing but positive. On one hand, the hardware itself is pretty minimal. It's appearance is nothing fancy, all plastic. The controls on the top are simply imbedded into it which is neat. You have a few basic input/output for power, 1x usb, 1x HDMI, and x1 audio out jack. You get a small monopod built into the bottom that you can use to adjust the picture angle to throw the image higher. The remote is easy to use and has bluetooth built in so you do not have to point the remote to the projector. Setup was a breeze. Having Google TV built in made setup pretty smooth while connecting via my android phone in just a few minutes. Once I got my streaming apps all automatically setup, it was a delight to see that the image auto focused and auto keystoned itself. Throw the image on a smooth wall and bam you have a very nice focused projection. Where you will find the best image though will be on a projection screen itself. I initially setup the projector in my master bedroom where I had a huge empty wall to really see how the image quality was and I left myself amazed. With my previous projector I had to manually focus the image since I would accidentally bump the table from everyday tasks, so this Vankyo already has the leg up with their auto setup. As for overall brightness, it does well if you are utilizing the projector in a room dark enough to really benefit from its 400 lumens of brightness. You will suffer a bit if your room has light leaking through windows so just make your room as dark as possible for the best experience. The built in speakers are good. I usually expect low volume output and muffled frequencies but the fact that they have Dolby audio is such a pro move. I'd recommend setting up with your line out to a better speaker honestly or just sync a bluetooth speaker. This is aiming to be a great option to just about everyone who may want some versatility with being able to easily setup either a movie or presentation anywhere. Turn it on and go.

So firstly, I have ran through a few of these projectors over the years. Most of them, I found, were mediocre with good qualities but still missing something. This Vankyo projector is the product of the kinks being worked out overtime. A few pros and cons: PROs - Dolby sound with the built-in speakers ; such good quality audio - Google TV built-in! No more having to fool around with plugging in my streaming device, finding the input etc. My Netflix, prime and everything else are already accessible. Huge plus! - WiFi connectivity; not sure of the wifi specs, but I have Verizon Fios and it seems to connect very well - 1080p resolution picture; Helloooo this is awesome for a "not sure expensive" projector. Plus the LED lighting and LCD display allows me to see a nice crisp picture without it being too dark outside - Bluetooth enabled. I was able to connect my bluetooth speaker/soundbar for added sound quality CONs - The remote needs batteries and must first be paired with the projector - The manual/start up guide was not "dummy" friendly. I am a media professional so I figured it out, but I wouldn't give this to my parents to figure out. Overall, for the price point, and if you're not using this for major largescale gatherings, you can't beat it.

Setup on the V700 was very simple and straightforward. Using either the remote or the buttons on the projector are user options. The picture is fairly crisp and clean, however due to the low lumens you'll need to be in a fairly dim setting. You're able to fine tune the setting or auto focus the picture. There's also a little pedestal on the bottom to adjust to the screen. I connected to my wi-fi, initially I thought that I could only download a few of my streaming apps, however after playing around with it I was able to connect to all my streaming platforms. In the box along with the projector you'll also get; the remote control, user manual and a guick start guide, an HD cable andbthe power cable. Nothing to run out and purchase to get this baby going, unless you need the projection screen. I'm lookimg forward to many nights either in the basement, where it will be mounted from the ceiling or outside after the bbq sitting on the tripod. Its's very versatile and mobile enough to take with you and quickly setup anywhere!

I’ll start by saying that although I wasn’t blown away by the performance of this projector, it is decent for its size and price point. I would call it a good starter projector. I believe it has a single LCD bulb for a lamp, and is rated for 20,000 hours. About 10 years of use for 5 hours a day of viewing! It is safe to assume, that you’ll probably never had to replace this bulb. The bulb might outlast the rest of the hardware in this projector. Anyway.. it is a small projector, easy to move around and set up anywhere in the house. In a dark / dimly lit room, it is bright enough to projector a usable image. The bulb is rated at 400 lumens. There is some artifacts on plain white backgrounds, but it isn’t too bothersome while watching a movie or show. The weakest thing about this projector are the speakers. They sound tinny, and don’t get as loud as I was expecting. They claim to have dual 8 watt speakers.. which should be pretty loud but I would say it sounds more like a single 10 watt speaker. There is almost no bass or mids in these speakers. If you plan on using this for a movie, I would recommend connecting an external speaker if you have one. Picture quality is just okay. Nothing to write home about but for its size and “budget” it’s hard to complain about it. Google TV and installed apps run quite smoothly and I was pleasantly surprised by that. Netflix, YouTube, HBO max and Hulu all run without much trouble. You can navigate through menus and options quickly with the included remote. It’s nice to be able to stream from so many services without having to use a dongle or external media device. It makes streaming movies, shows or YouTube a breeze. Would I recommend this projector? Yes and No. if you aren’t picky about image and sound quality and just want a small and easy to use projector then go for it! If you have kids, I think they would love it. If you’re a movie snob and want the best picture and sound quality , then avoid this projector. I’m happy with it, and plan on using it for watching cartoons with my niece and nephew.

Small Smart Google TV Projector, Fast Auto Focus

I've never heard of Vankyo, but after using the Vankyo V700 NEO projector for a few days, I'm suitably impressed. There are a few small things that could be better - but overall, the Google Smarts, the built-in WiFi Connectivity, and easy setup including an incredibly fast and smart auto focus, make the Vankyo a very good 1080p projector for work use but with the benefit of also being great for movie nights. In the box. - Vankyo V700 Neo 1080P Projector (with Google TV) - Remote (oddly, no batteries included, so get some AAAs!) - Power Cable with large brick - HDMI cable - Q Tips and Cleaning Cloth (for the LCD if needed) - instructions First Impressions Out of the box the Vankyo has a Braun-design feel, with the bright yellow ring that surrounds the lens (visible when you remove the lens cap). The lens cap, alas, does not attach in any way to the projector, so I would suggest buying a camera lens cord so you don't inadvertently lose the cover. That said, there's a front facing camera and what looks like an IR sensor - which the Vankyo uses for auto focus and screen calibration. Underneath is a single center, screw out foot to give you some til if desk mounted. There's also a threaded mount if you plan to mount the Vankyo on a tripod or ceiling. Setup Setup was incredibly simple - put (your own) AAA batteries in the remote, plug in the V700 Neo, follow the pairing instructions on screen, and you're on your way. I am using the Vankyo with a projector screen and got a very clear 80" picture. WiFi connectivity was fast, and I was test streaming a YouTube video within minutes thanks to the fact the Vankyo runs Google TV so you have all your usual apps e.g. YouTube, Netflix, etc. For my PC connectivity setup test, I used the supplied HDMI cable and, no surprises, it was flawless. I will say the included power supply brick has a relatively short length, I'd definitely invest in an extension cord to make sure you're able to setup the Vankyo anywhere and I kind of wish they had a longer cord, at least to a power outlet. The power brick is also a little bigger than you might want if you truly want something super portable. Using the Vankyo Neo V700 The remote is fast and responsive. The 2.8w speakers are not great (deducted a star) and you need to have the volume up to drown out the fans, which also seemed a bit higher than projectors I am use to. This is not a complaint though and given I set the Vankyo up end-of-day in an empty office, it could be more environmental than anything. There is a headphone jack, so you could use external speakers if you wanted better sound - and the Vankyo has BlueTooth (accessible via the intuitive Google TV menus) so that might be an option for some. What impressed me most was how fast the Vankyo focuses and calibrates the image. It's one of the fastest and best I have ever seen. Like, seriously impressive. The brightness is also VERY good, in a well lit conference room, even a YouTube video that was not professionally lit looked good. Again, it was just the audio that could be better - it does the job for a presentation, but wouldn't rely on it for long form entertainment. Conclusion Overall, the Vankyo is a smart (and smart looking) portable projector. I like the design, having Google TV built in is a huge plus, and it's easy to setup everything from the core Google TV app, to calibrating your image. Just bring your own AAA batteries, think about getting an extension cord if you have a longer run from your outlet to where you want to place the projector, and if you plan to dual use the Vankyo for work and pleasure, consider a pair of plug in portable speakers that can help with audio. But overall, the Vankyo is a cool, smart (in the very sense of the word) projector - if you make peace with the OK, not great sound, and the need for a a slightly longer power cord then the Vankyo is a good value smart projector that is good for work and personal use.
