Unbelievably high-quality projector for the price!

The creators of this projector must have jumped ahead in time and come back with some good ideas for build efficiency and quality because this projector is exceedingly nice for the price in the market today and has some outstanding features that even beat out projectors I have reviewed that are triple its price! First of all, the image quality is stunning. Playing 1080p HDR videos from YouTube such as some of the LG screen quality test videos, I was blown away by the standard brightness of this monitor on our 100” projector screen in our bedroom. The colors were truly outstanding without bleached-out white tones, and the screen picture mode of “movie” proved to be our favorite for visual quality. An interesting connection we noticed on the brightness settings is that the fan ramps up quite loud on the highest brightness mode, while standard brightness is quieter and eco is the quietest on the fan. This didn’t affect our experience too much either way, as the fan noise is not obnoxiously loud, but I felt it was worth mentioning to users. The auto keystone and focus correction features on this projector are also incredible. They are super precise and even for our projector screen that is at an elevated angle in our bedroom more than 12 feet away from the projector, it was able to pick up the borders of the screen and adjust the image to fit the projector screen perfectly! I like that one can also select whether to have it auto-focus and keystone with each start-up or move. One of the standouts of this projector is the incredibly loud and clear speakers that are built in! I have not to date tested a projector that has speakers as loud and as sufficient as this for filling even a large living room with sound! While these speakers have no soundbar or bass-connected audio setup competition, I feel like the built-in speakers are perfectly sufficient for most users’ needs and will leave them satisfied. Further to this is the fact that this projector can act as a standalone Bluetooth-connected speaker for your phone or other Bluetooth devices! This is excellent and even further enhances the versatility of this projector. I could see how well this would fit into the use case for an all-in-one entertainment device for a small apartment or AV room. Set up on this speaker was also super easy, and the Google suite of features are just excellent. I love that the included remote is set up for voice assistant out of the box and that you even have access to some of the most common video services of the day on the remote! The only negative I have, and a very small one at that, is the lack of batteries included with the remote. Come on, Vankyo! Even my daughter’s $15 electric talking doll included two AAA batteries! Altogether, I have absolutely no problem rating this projector 5/5 stars. At this price, I just cannot imagine you going wrong. I have reviewed projectors in this price range, and I have been unable to find a competitor that has ALL these features gathered together in one projector! I 100% would recommend you give it a try for your entertainment or small business needs!

Easy to use affordable compact projector

I picked up this projector for my kids room as an alternative to a TV for space saving reasons as well as not having to worry about them breaking their TV. What really sold me on this projector was the Google TV which I have on another TV in my house that has served me well over the years. Overall this is a decent projector for someone that doesn't need a high end home theater setup. I imagine this would do very well for a travel projector for meetings and such in addition to a kids room. Here is a quick rundown. Pros: Compact Design Automatic Focus Google TV Fast OS Cons: Loud Fan Noise Brightness Subpar Speakers Build quality on this is pretty good. Its got a plastic body with a metal like finish. It has control buttons on the top (that aren't clicky) and comes with a remote. On the back you have your basic HDMI/Power/USB port as well as a 3.5mm audio jack that I highly recommend you use. The lens comes with a dust cover to help keep it clean, and they include a cleaning cloth in the box. The initial setup is a little lengthy but in my opinion worth it. Linking it to my Google account and doing a simple setup got me up and running with my favorite apps and access to my account that I needed. When first powered on the projector will go through its own setup, focusing the lens and making sure its level, removing a lot of the tinkering out that you would have with other projectors. This is a great feature to have, especially if you're going to have kids operating it. This process takes a few seconds on each startup and then you're good to go. Additionally, inside of the settings there are manual controls for tuning the picture. You can reposition it up/down/left/right a bit (I wish it could move more, but I understand the limitation), shrink or zoom the picture to fit your screen, and it even has an auto fit option for projector screens. Unfortunately the projector screen I ordered came in broken so I wasn't able to test that yet. The picture quality for this is pretty good. As I said the projector screen I ordered was broken so I'm waiting on the replacement, but testing it on the wall and on a white blanket hung up resulted in a decent picture. At roughly 50in its a nice crisp image, and at 100in it isn't as crisp but still enjoyable. My only complaint is that it isn't as bright as I would like. It is usable in a dimly lit room so its not too bad, but for optimal experience you want as little light as possible. It has a brightness setting within the settings that allows you to turn it up, but this results in the fan kicking in even louder which is pretty loud at its default settings. The only other complaint I have is the lack luster speakers. The speakers are Dolby Atmos certified but the sound quality isn't the greatest. I didn't expect much out of built in 8w speakers, but I had hoped these would be a little better. I'm going to end up installing a soundbar instead. They are usable, and my kids don't seem to mind, but I know it could be better with a cheap soundbar instead. Overall, pretty happy with this device and once I have the ceiling mount and new projector screen I'm sure my kids will be too.

Budget-conscious projector for fun cinema nights

Fourteen months ago, my high-end projector accidentally broke after an unexpected fall. Ever since, I’ve been missing family movie night on Fridays. In comes the Vankyo V700 Neo, a budget-friendly projector with Google TV and 1080p native resolution. In the box, the V700 Neo comes complete with a full featured remote control and an HDMI cable. The projector itself has two speakers on each side enhanced by Dolby Audio. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are two great features that enhance its value. On the top are a few screen control adjustments and a power button, and the back features one audio-out port, one HDMI and one USB-A ports. Set-up was easy and seamless. I plugged it, turned it on and pointed it at my 100-inch projector screen. First, it prompted me to pair the remote. Beside a few minor functions, everything else is done with the remote, and it works very well. It even has a voice command feature for Google Assistant. I activated the projector through my Google Home app which was quick. In a couple of minutes, I was scrolling through all my subscribed apps. For my everyday streaming, I use a Google TV streamer and the V700 Neo’s interface looks similar with the same capabilities. For the picture set-up, it would automatically measure the distance from the screen and run a short calibration image that worked perfectly. At a native 1080p, the quality of the image is good on my 100-inch screen, but at 400 lumens, I highly recommend watching in a dark environment, preferably at night. During daytime, even with all the blinds completely shut, the image would appear washed out. I connected a Blu-ray player and the image was of the same quality. The colors are decent for the value of this projector, not vibrant but the reproduction is accurate. I chose to set the image manually for better results. The stereo speakers deliver basic clear sound without bass or extreme highs. Somehow, I like it as they give out a “drive-in” theater vibe. I haven’t tried connecting it via Bluetooth to external speakers but using the audio-out port with my headphones provided great sound quality. The cooling fan can become loud during quiet scenes but it’s part of the charm of a traditional projector. In conclusion, the Vankyo V700 Neo has some limitations in terms of performance in bright environments and color accuracy. It is not high end, and not suitable for those looking for a sophisticated projector. However, at that price point, it performs above its weight when it comes to the ease of use, plus the inclusion of Google TV that gives access to thousands of apps right out of the box. It has been reliable, with hours of uninterrupted streaming and the whole family has been enjoying endless hours of fun cinema nights. It’s been a good addition to my household.

Budget friendly with HD quality and Google TV

This Vankyo projector offers up a nice 1080p+HDR clarity that is ideal for a home theater setup. The built in Smart TV features such as Google TV make this even better since it can run all my streaming media content preferences. The small compact size offers a small footprint to be placed easily where I’d like it in my room. The light source is LED and the display technology is LCD. You get a nice clear video quality displayed onto your projector screen. In my setup it works ideally in a dark room setup or evening time if you have any windows in the room. This is capable of being mounted or installed in various front, rear, or ceiling placements depending on what is best for your particular setup. Included in the box is the V700 Neo projector, remote, HDMI cable, power adapter, and the user manuals. This projector is ready to use right out of the box and will walk you through the setup process to get your wifi connected and Google account setup. This gave me access to all my favorite apps and services such as YouTube, Prime, Netflix, and Disney+. You can access more than 10,000 apps since it's wifi connected. It has Dolby Audio coming from its 2 internal 8W speakers. I was able to connect my soundbar via bluetooth to take advantage of a more precise sound effect. I love the various auto features built in that keep the screen displaying the best visual quality; things like auto keystone, auto focus, auto obstacle avoid, and auto screen fit. The remote gives you access to voice controls with the simplicity of "hey Google," and you're finding what you want to watch. The brightness is 400 lumens, and the contrast ratio is 5000:1. Ideally it's a multi purpose projector for home theater, business, gaming, classroom, and backyard recreation because of it's easy portability and size. According to the specs it should provide about 20K hours of light source over the normal life of the bulb. The projector will display clear video that can go up to 100" and it's fantastic for a large display. Overall a good quality projector on a budget.
