All you need is a memory card and the mirror will be on when the car is on. It gives the date and time on the images it captures and you can browse through them at your own convenience.

1. Check if the power supply of the car charger is always on. Plug it into the cigarette lighter. The light will flash if the supply is poor.
2. Take out of the SD card and unplug the power cable. Then take the dashcam indoors and charge it with a 5V/3A adapter and a MINI USB cable for an hour to see if it can be turned on.
3. Use a pin to reset the device directly. The reset hole is behind the camera.
4. Unplug the rear camera kit to see if the front camera works well.

I wanted it for my 2007 Cadillac XLR, but there was no way to run the wiring in that car to the rear view mirror part!! So I had to return!! Bummer!

Not for me. My Garmin cameras works better.

I didn't like the instructions. Unit was not easy to operate. The vehicle mirror may be partially visible through the image on the screen. To use the front camera, you may have to advance the screen to the left, possibly interfering with the drivers vison of the road.
