This phone is a budget phone for entry level smartphone users and its great phone because of its price as it has so much to offer what other phones at same price can not.
The battery may seem small on a paper but it really goes more than a day. So I keep this phone with me though i have a Galaxy s6 Edge because my S6 would not even make a day with all of my power use.

Is a really nice update for the old Motorola Moto E. Trust me, you wont regret getting this "cheap" phone.
Improvements from Moto E to Moto E 2nd Gen:
* New Android (From v4.4 Kitkat to v5.0 Lollipop)
* More cores (From Dual to Quad)
* Front Camera (Added)
* Capacity (From 4GB to 8GB)
* Bigger Battery (From 1980 mAH to 2390 mAH)
* Larger Screen (From 4.3'' to 4.5'')
Cons:
* No Flash.
* Only 5MB camera.
* Phone & Wall Charger only, No HeadPhones nor USB cable.
* Low Capacity.. Even Improved to 8GB isn't big enough (for me, since you can use ONLY like 5GB)...

After leaving the iPhone several models ago, I've consistently been a Samsung girl. I use two cell phones, and when my favorite little carry phone, the S3 mini started to act up, I decided to try the Moto E. How could I pass up a 4G LTE, quad core processor, Android 5.1 phone that only cost an amazing $10 on Black Friday??? This is the second generation Moto E folks, and that means one powerful little phone that zips with the best of them. My S3 was prepaid Verizon, and all I had to do was pop the existing SIM card in and viola! It worked! Note that the Moto E has a different size SIM card, and says not to insert a smaller card with the tray, but that's exactly what I did, and I have had no problems. This phone is a little chunkier than others, but if you can get past that, it is a great size for your pocket. The display is fabulously clear, the interface is intuitive, the clarity of sound is great, and it even sports an FM radio when you use your headphones to act as an antenna. Bluetooth works seamlessly, WIFI is strong, battery life is great, and I like that Verizon prepaid lets you use your phone for tethering. It also supports call forwarding, which I found to my dismay that Straight Talk operating on the Verizon network will not. What are the cons? The camera is not great, there is no flash, and Verizon packs a lot of bloatware. If you are a big NFL fan, you might not mind, but NFL mobile updates drove me crazy until I finally disabled them. There is not much memory, but you can add a 32 gb SD card, so that's not a hindrance. It comes with a useless cover that I couldn't fit onto the phone, but at this price point, who needs a cover? The phone is very sturdy and has already survived a few drops without a scratch. I've actually found it refreshing to use a different phone brand other than Samsung, because after you've had about five of them, they get a little predictable and boring. I'm giving this phone five stars not because it has every bell and whistle, but because for its price point...even off sale, it is hard to beat. Thanks for a great deal, Best Buy!

This phone has good enough specs to run all current apps smoothly. Has very very good battery backup, Ive had it run for 2 days straight with moderate use. Perfect size for my hands and for one hand use. Memory card slot is another plus, however more onboard memory would've been nice and a little more RAM wouldn't have hurt either. I am completely satisfied with this phone though , couldn't ask for more.

Technically Unlocked but Hobbled by Verizon & Moto

Pros:
* Got mine SUPER CHEAP on the Black Friday deal.
* Very good battery life
* Solid construction
* High-speed data
* MicroSD expansion slot (you'll need it, only 8GB internal storage)
* Quad-core CPU fast enough for most apps
* Ships network unlocked for other carriers
Cons:
* Kind of chunky and heavy
* Low-density screen
* Only has 1024MB of RAM
* Bootloader is locked so can't root it (Developer Options has "OEM Unlock Bootloader" switch, does nothing)
* Technically unlocked for other carriers BUT Verizon OTA update hid the setting for switching radio mode, so to use on another carrier you have to connect with USB in Developer Mode and issue shell commands via ADB.
* Despite device being technically capable of Miracast display mirroring, Motorola disabled mirroring for everything but Chromecast.
* Low-res 5MP camera doesn't even have a flash!
I bought this for use as a app development platform. I also wanted to root it and possibly install a custom ROM, which (as of right now) can't be done. Motorola hobbled this phone's ability to mirror display to a TV - it should be technically capable of Miracast display mirroring (albeit with quite a lag), but they limited it to "cast screen" only for Chromecast.
Mine came with a blue "grip shell" cover/case. It makes the phone look like a preschool toy and for no good reason requires you to remove the rubbery band around the middle of the phone (they could have easily designed the grip cover to fit OVER it). Also the back of the actual phone has a rubber coating that gives you a sure grip, the back of the "grip shell" is smooth plastic - which sort of defeats the purpose.
On the other hand I paid so little for it on sale it would still be a bargain if I only used it as an alarm clock or a paperweight.

Purchased for $10 as Black Friday special. Running on Lollipop 5.1 out of the box. Without modification, it can only be used on the Verizon network, as intended. After doing some work on it, was able to get it working with H2O wireless SIM (AT&T network) with LTE speeds. Even if you don't want to activate it, if you pop a microSD card in, you can download your music and videos, and it can be used as an MP3 player, portable FM radio, GPS navigator (using offline navigation apps), etc.
Screen is good, no lag with basic use ( high intensity games will likely lag), good signal strength. Call quality may not be the best because the mic is on the back. Battery life is good.No NFC.
Don't not get it if you like to take photos or selfies. Low resolution front and back cameras. No flash.
It's a budget camera, so corners needed to be cut. It's not fair to compare it to a S6, iPhone, G4, etc. If you're coming from a high end phone, you may not like it. But for the average non-gamer or child's first phone, you can't find better for the price.
Also makes a great backup phone!

Good phone, fast 1gb memory with quad core chip, low cost, modern day features, good battery life. Also weather resistant I heard. I like the 5.1 android lollipop os and it's features. Lots of case options. Expandable sd card slot up to 32gb. Its faults would be, non replaceable battery and low storage space. Having only 5gb of its 8gb available for use due to operating system using 3gb of your space. Other wise I would have gave it 5 star's. 4 out of 5.

Like the Moto G, the Moto E is a budget phone that does many things right. The processor, battery, and screen are all competitive compared to other budget phones. Unfortunately this phone does not have an LED flash with is very useful as a flashlight. The camera is average and the speaker is front facing thankfully. The case that is included is very nice and helps prevent internal dust buildup because of how it attaches.

This was a really great phone for the price. The case was really nice. With some research, it can also be used on other carriers. Even just using it as a MP3 player, it is very nice. I would rate the phone about a 4, since it has no flash, 8GB of space, and a non removable battery, but since the price was so low when I got it, I will give it a 5 since I expected to pay at least 3 times the price of what I paid for it.

Bought this phone when it was $10 during Black Friday sales and I've used it everyday since. When you buy a budget phone you understand that things are going to be sub par to a more mainstream and expensive phone, but what I like about this phone is that Motorola did such a good job making it feel like it was just like any other phone. The only complaints I could have for this phone is that you only have 3gbs of internal storage and although you can add a micro SD card not all apps can be moved to it and so I find myself having to manage my storage more and not have apps that I may want. The only other problem I've had was the speaker used to talk on the phone has gone out twice and the only way to hear people talk would be for you to put it on speaker phone, but a quick fix that makes the problem not too bad is that all you have to do is turn it off and then back on and it usually fixes it. Great budget phone and I would definitely recommend it if you need a replacement, need a back up phone, or need a starter smart phone for your child or and elderly person. Also it says on the box that you have to do prepaid service before you can put it on your normal service, but as long as you have the sim card from your old phone you can put it in and you'll be able to use it without activating a prepaid plan.

I bought this phone for very cheap on a Black Friday deal. I have to say, you get what you pay for. True, it's a real Android phone, running the latest OS. But it's painfully slow for anything but the simplest tasks. Switching between apps can lose the original app context because of memory constraints. Memory and CPU intensive apps like Google Maps for Facebook can be slow. The camera is also very mediocre in quality, and there is no rear flash. But, it's a durable phone and can accomplish basic tasks reasonably well. I've dropped it several times. I don't think it will die. It also came with an integrated case. Also, has a MicroSD slot, which is nice, as the built-in storage is very limited.

It runs a fairly clean build of android, only bloat is Verizon's crapware, which is mostly easily removable. Speaker is fairly loud but lacks a decent range. Screen is ok, nothing glamorous though. Android seemed to preform fast enough for most tasks, although I wouldn't expect great multitasking preformace. There are rear and front cameras, and while they both work, they are pretty much garbage. On the bright side however, the twist-to-open camera gesture works faster than on my Moto X Pure. All around I'd say the phone is a really good deal for the price, and while cost cutting is evident, the phone is nothing to be ashamed of.

I have a teen son who has lost many phones. Found a great deal on this one and decided to get him a phone. It's been great! Battery life is the best of any phone he's ever had! Great size, came with a case. Needs Verizon start up kit/card to use monthly at a rate of $45, which gets you unlimited talk & text, and 1 GB of data. You can add on more value to get more gigabytes of data if you choose to. In the start up kit I bought, it came with a $45 card as well as a micro SD card to increase memory.Overall, great phone at an amazing price!

This is probably the best deal you can get dollar for dollar.I've had this phone before and it was excellent considering what I paid for it.Make sure not to update the OS after you turn it on because you can still unlock it and use it with tmobile and att as long as you don't update it.You would have to Google it to see how itshe done but this was for sure a great deal and I'd recommend it to anyone who has Verizon tmobile or att.

Nice phone! Works very smooth. Also works with verizon postpaid accounts if you swap the sim from your current phone. Camera is just ok and it has no flash. Buy this if you need a cheap phone to get you by for awhile.
