This product's Macintosh drivers are not digitally signed. You will have to override your Mac's security settings to use it. Consider purchasing the Elgato video capture device instead. Elgato has signed drivers and works perfectly on my MBP. Unfortunately, BestBuy does not sell the Elgato product at this time.

Difficult to attach the conversion hardware. Still haven’t converted the old 8mm tapes to our MacBook Pro

I’ve tried using several different cords, different camcorders, laptops, I tried all I could to make sure it wasn’t me that couldn’t get this device/software to work….but it must just be too old, idk. I wanted to return it, but because it’s software that’s not possible.

The DVD quality output is not what I expected. Could be better.

If I could give zero stars...This never worked. I kept receiving error messages. Loaded everything "successfully". Waste of friends and family time trying. You'll need a wish and a prayer. This was returned.

Well, so far I cannot get it to work with my computer. I realize it may be my settings on my computer but this has been impossible to use up to this point. Worthless as is.

It doesn’t work. Video sometimes went through. sound was horrible. A lot buzzing & clicking. Unusable.

Kept causing my computer to go to blue screen after trying to copy a few videos. Will not use and will burn DVDs via the vcr machine.

This product does not work and is not user friendly. Pay more money for a product that actually works.

Reinstalled the software several times...but the unit doesn't transfer from the VHS to computer

New MacBooks don't even have a disc drive to play dvds once videos are converted

Very happy with this product. Works just as advertised and it was easy to set up and use. It works just as good or better than more expensive ones I have used. I also the like the option of having s- video cable as well as RCA for better quality if you’re machine supports it.

Product performs as advertised. Follow the instructions and the process works. Pleased with the results of family tapes and making copies for family members.

I purchased the VidBox Video Conversion Suite to transfer VHS tapes to DVD disks. I installed the software on a 2010 MacBook Pro. It met the basic criteria on the box. Installation was easy. However, when I played back the recording, the audio lagged the video. It was playing back slower than the video. I emailed customer service and got a response in less than 24 hours. It wasn't a computer generated response but from a real engineer who knew what they were talking about. I told them the OS X version and the vintage of the MBP. They told me they reproduced the problem on an old iMac they had that worked fine. As they added newer OS X versions, the performance degraded. They suggested I revert to an older OS or try a newer computer. I tried a newer PC and it worked fine. I could create a partition on my MBP and install an old OS but it will be easier to use the PC. I give VidBox high marks because of the customer service I received.

It worked for me to copy VHS to an imac 10.12.6 (late 2015) . I had to use the 2nd download option which I think is older. Installing sftw and setting up the device was straight forward. And OMG it works :) Very happy with the purchase, but be sure your machine has exactly what you need before purchasing because Bestbuy policy is no returns on open software. The staff at the store was very clear about that before I made the purchase. This is a project that has been on the shelf for waaaay too long and after using this product, I have no idea why I waited.

This thing is fantastic. I was able to digitize all my family’s old home movies (before the VHS tapes expire) and the setup was so simple I was even able to walk my dad through it over the phone. It’s also a heck of a lot cheaper than sending them off somewhere (especially without previewing them first).

We followed the instructions and downloaded the program onto my mom's computer. Within minutes somebody had used an rat to take over the computer, and blue walled them so they could not see what was happening. Literally about to go over to their house right now. Attempt to handle this and ensure that nobody was able to steal anything from them. Incredibly disappointed with this purchase, will be seeking a refund.

No isssues, consistently performs acceptably. Easy to understand instructions. Reliable and convenient to use.

Used this to change casette tape home videos to files on my MacBook Air for my mom for Christmas and it was exactly what I expected! I was able to use the camcorder to play the videos to be recorded using Vidbox and it worked perfectly for about 25 tapes. Great video picture and audio quality. I highly recommend if you are trying to save some money converting old videos.
