It doesn’t work. Video sometimes went through. sound was horrible. A lot buzzing & clicking. Unusable.

Kept causing my computer to go to blue screen after trying to copy a few videos. Will not use and will burn DVDs via the vcr machine.

This product does not work and is not user friendly. Pay more money for a product that actually works.

Reinstalled the software several times...but the unit doesn't transfer from the VHS to computer

New MacBooks don't even have a disc drive to play dvds once videos are converted

Very happy with this product. Works just as advertised and it was easy to set up and use. It works just as good or better than more expensive ones I have used. I also the like the option of having s- video cable as well as RCA for better quality if you’re machine supports it.

Product performs as advertised. Follow the instructions and the process works. Pleased with the results of family tapes and making copies for family members.

It worked for me to copy VHS to an imac 10.12.6 (late 2015) . I had to use the 2nd download option which I think is older. Installing sftw and setting up the device was straight forward. And OMG it works :) Very happy with the purchase, but be sure your machine has exactly what you need before purchasing because Bestbuy policy is no returns on open software. The staff at the store was very clear about that before I made the purchase. This is a project that has been on the shelf for waaaay too long and after using this product, I have no idea why I waited.

I purchased the VidBox Video Conversion Suite to transfer VHS tapes to DVD disks. I installed the software on a 2010 MacBook Pro. It met the basic criteria on the box. Installation was easy. However, when I played back the recording, the audio lagged the video. It was playing back slower than the video. I emailed customer service and got a response in less than 24 hours. It wasn't a computer generated response but from a real engineer who knew what they were talking about. I told them the OS X version and the vintage of the MBP. They told me they reproduced the problem on an old iMac they had that worked fine. As they added newer OS X versions, the performance degraded. They suggested I revert to an older OS or try a newer computer. I tried a newer PC and it worked fine. I could create a partition on my MBP and install an old OS but it will be easier to use the PC. I give VidBox high marks because of the customer service I received.

This thing is fantastic. I was able to digitize all my family’s old home movies (before the VHS tapes expire) and the setup was so simple I was even able to walk my dad through it over the phone. It’s also a heck of a lot cheaper than sending them off somewhere (especially without previewing them first).

No isssues, consistently performs acceptably. Easy to understand instructions. Reliable and convenient to use.

Used this to change casette tape home videos to files on my MacBook Air for my mom for Christmas and it was exactly what I expected! I was able to use the camcorder to play the videos to be recorded using Vidbox and it worked perfectly for about 25 tapes. Great video picture and audio quality. I highly recommend if you are trying to save some money converting old videos.

Easy to install & easy to use. I have a box full old VHS and mini-VHS tapes of my family which I am currently converting to digital. Only two negatives: It does not allow you to pause the transfer process to help you edit the video. You have to stop the transfer and create a new second transfer if you want to omit part of your video. It does not have the ability to convert disc to digital.

Using this on a Mac, the software freezes during capture far too often. I cannot rely on it long enough to leave a full-length video cassette running while I go off and do something else. When it works, it works well...unfortunately it is rare that it works without having to start, stop, rewind, start and recapture videos over and over. And there aren't any "extra" settings to adjust, so there isn't anything I can do to try to "fix" the problem.

Not the best software and could not return this item—make sure your video camera has the right ports!

I bought this product in hopes of preserving my childhood videos onto my mac. The instructions to setup were very simple. After I installed the software and hooked everything up the first time, I pressed Record on the capture video screen and the program crashed. I went to try it again and it didn't find the device. So I switched to the left USB port on my mac and it seemed to do the trick. I pressed Record again and this time, the preview of my video was capturing sound, but you couldn't see the picture. It seemed to be frozen on where it was paused before. So I closed out of the software, disconnected the device, reconnected it to the USB port, and now it cannot recognize the device. I recommend using any other software to transfer video from VHS/BETA/Camcorder to digital with ANYTHING else but VIDBOX. Photo: Shows the error saying it isn't plugged in and to check the blue light and you clearly see its plugged in and the blue light is on.

Until yesterday I loved this product! Then I upgraded to Sonoma and the driver doesn't work. Called the company...response was: this is a known issue and we will email the driver when it is available, but no idea when. Iseless atm...

Not a good software program for capturing movies of the kids growing up. The hardware is fine, but the software is glitchy. The online help and chat help are worthless. I followed all of their advice and after playing 18 hours of video, I only captured about 8 minutes of usable video for a DVD. It was a very frustrating experience. And as usual, software blames users and hardware. Plus, no where on this product description does Best Buy let you know that you cannot return this product. Something about licensing. If you must have it, buy it from Amazon as you can return anything there.

DO NOT BUY. THIS DOES NOT WORK ON MACS. I BOUGHT IT JUST TO TRY AND I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. NOT ONLY DID I WASTE HOURS ON TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CONNECT THE CONVERTER WITHOUT ANY INSTRUCTIONS, I WASTED $80+ ON SOMETHING THAT DOSN'T WORK. I TRIED RETURNING IT AND SPOKE WITH MULTIPLE CUSTOMER SERVICES BUT NO ONE CARED TO HELP WITH A RETURN. I WASTED HOURS UPON HOURS AND MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT WORK. NO INSTRUCTIONS, NO HELP, NO POINT IN GETTING IT.
