I've had the starter for 3 days now and so far so good. As others have noted, I am disappointed with the app as you do not get 150 feet of connectivity. That being said, when I am within close enough range, it is nice to have as I leave for work before 6AM. The other option I have is to press unlock 3 times on my car key which then causes the horn to beep 3 times. I prefer to not do that so early since I have young children and our driveway is close enough to the bedrooms that it could be disturbing. I wouldn't appreciate the horn blasts if I were my neighbors either. The starter itself has worked well and given the negative temps we had this past weekend, I am glad to have it. Viper had a server issue during my install which caused install to take almost 6 hours. Don't count on the 3-3.5 hour install time BB quotes you. It would be nice if the app worked from anywhere as I am not near my vehicle at work. That being said, it is a decent product and I like the I can use my factory key to start the car. I have not used the little remote that comes with it as both of my keys were programmed to auto-start on 3x unlock. Don't forget to bring both keys, even if the tech tells you he only needs one.

Overall a good but basic remote car starter. The car does automatically shut off once you enter it so you do have to restart it. Also, it can be difficult to tell if the car actually starts if you are not close by within sight. I feel other remote starters have more features but this is an affordable option.

I bought this last year as a Best Buy Black Friday deal for our 2008 Honda CRV and it has been working great since. Plus with free installation at Best Buy with purchase (I did not realize they do auto installs) this was an incredible deal. This remote starter is great for those cold days when you want to have a warm car to go into. I absolutely recommend this. If you are looking for a remote starter I recommend this.

Great product! I wish I bought this years ago! Alarm system is great, and so is the remote start! Definitely worth the money!

Had this installed at best buy. I purchased this along with the 2 way remote so I could get feedback to know my car has started without having to stare out a window. The range is very good, realistically about 500-1000ft. If you car has been running for 15 mins the remote starts beeping to let you know the car is about to turn off. I don't care about having an app on my phone to start my car. In my opinion that blue-tooth technology is still in its infancy and needs development so don't go buying this expecting to start your car while it is 4 miles away. Battery for the remote lasts about 90 days then needs recharging using a simple usb. I highly recommend this product to anyone. I've been using this starter for 9 months with no problems.

The install was quick and easy at Best Buy. I am really happy with the product. I live in a third floor apartment, and the range works from my front door all the way out to the parking lot. I don't even need to be near the window. I chose the one-way remote to save a few bucks. I spoke to the rep at Best Buy about the difference between that and two-way. It appears that the only difference is that the two-way remote will beep and confirm that your car started. If you don't care about that, then I would stick with the one-way to save money.

I love my purchase I bought a automatic remote starter and the man that installed it did a very wonderful job and a timely manner it only took an hour and a half I had time to go to lunch and come back and it was ready so if you're thinking about getting one a good place to go is the Best buy in McDonough Georgia

Didn't have all the components in the box. Couldn't install in my car.

I have owned and installed Viper products for 27 years and have had great luck with them. I got this for my wife's car and it did everything expected, but....the "up to 1/2 mile" range on the one way remote that comes with the system is a joke! It would not pick up a signal from the kitchen, which is 25-30' away. This was remedied with an additional $120 two way remote. It also comes out of the box with a 12 minute runtime, which to me is way too short. Unfortunately, this is NOT user programmable, and after spending a good while on the phone with Viper's customer service, they said there is no option to change it. UNACCEPTABLE! I went back to the store to get the system pulled out, and the installer said they have a (dealer only) app that can modify the runtime. Nowhere in any documentation is that stated, and Viper themselves didn't know it was an option. The app is great, but only goes as far as Bluetooth will reach, which is not far, though handy in a pinch. The remedy to this is to get the GPS module which will cost you another $100 or so plus a $100/year or so subscription to the service. Overall, I'm happy with the DS4+, but disappointed that they ultimately force you to upgrade to get it to work like it should have in the first place.

This entry level system works exactly as described when used with the included 1-way remote. However, the imagine is misleading. While it is upgradable to allow for phone use over a cellular connection, the Bluetooth is essentially useless. My vehicle can be sitting 10 feet away outside of a window and the Bluetooth is unable to connect. So, as long as you are not expecting any smart phone capabilities, this system gets the job done.

Works great and the free install from a certified technician at Best Buy made it super easy to add to my vehicle.

My girl friend is a Social Worker for Hospice of the Valley. I decided to get this Viper for her because she’s out in the field and often she returns to her hot Forerunner in th me Arizona sun! I surprised for her birthday and it turned out to be a great practical gift for her. She loves it! She tells me that often!!! Not to mention the safety of it when it’s dark!!

It works great. I’m not crazy about the fact that I can unlock my car from the button but can’t lock it, so if I’m in a building and unlock it by accident, that’s that. But otherwise it’s great!

I purchased a viper remote starter for my daughter to aid her in the cold months ahead. When we had the product installed, it was done in the amount of time we were told which coincided with our plans for the day. So far the product has operated as it should and we are very happy with it. Thank you

Writing a review regarding Keenan who installed. He was very knowledgeable, honest and friendly from the moment we arrived for our appointment. He offered different options to us for the remote start that we weren't aware of and led us in the right direction of what remote start to buy without trying to upsale a product. Definitely a 10/10 service from this young gentleman. We would request him to do any future installs for us.

we had purchased our first Viper for the CRV, when my wife was driving it, it was a must have, and she loved it. When we got the Odyssey, it was a much missed aspect for her, and so I got her one for it as well. She just managed to lose the key fob that came with it, about a year ago, digging into the best buy online records, and finding the purchase and model, I was able to find the manual and instructions to set up the app on her phone, saving us $80 and many mornings of misery and envy for her beloved remote start. Thank you Best Buy for your records, Geek Squad for the expert install, and Viper for your innovative products. An absolutely winning combo!

Iv had this installed for years now and its been great. Until one day i logged into the app to start my truck and the app was asking me to pair my vehicle. I tried every option and step and notting. Called customer service and was on hold for an hour. Finally i asked what to do and could not do anything to go back to best buy and ask them. Customer service for this is horrible!

Is working great no issues so far my car is now hot in the winter
