Excellent range and working great so far. Hoping it lasts a long time. I had purchased a different model previously and it kept malfunctioning. This version seems to be doing well so far. Fingers crossed. I think the other model I was using was part of a bad batch. Always have confidence in my purchases at Best Buy.

Constantly drains batteries, ive had to buy a new remote almost yearly and new batteries way too often which seems excessive to me at $60 a remote (plus the constant batteries) Every single one we buy does this. The Best Buy staff know me when i walk in. They are extremely helpful & friendly but fed up because the money invested between the actual starter in addition to remotes/batteries is getting ridiculous

I basically purchased the item to upgrade. I am thinking this is going to better then the one before it which did not seem to be able to get much life from the batteries.

The picture is of the orig model. The actual new one is black and smooth. I no longer worry about losing the battery cover because it's not a slide off anymore and no longer located on the back. It works great even when I'm still inside of a huge store! I dropped it and there was quite a gouge in the soft rubberized plastic though. Still works like charm!

This is a very good remote for Directed Electronics alarms. Many great things about it. The only problem is that the pic that comes with the description has a nice looking remote that is black and gray but the one that you receive is all black. A matte black. The quality is good but the plastic casing looks cheap.... very disappointed... I wish it would have said that you will be getting an all black color remote...

This remote is great. It sounds off to let you know that the vehicle is started, doors open or doors lock. It was more than I wanted to spend on a replacement but after seeing what it does I feel that it's worth the price. Then I purchased a second one to have as a backup.

This replacement works just as well as the one that originally came with my Alarm\remote start.. I do like that this one is all black instead of the silver/black the orig was.

the range seems to better than the previous remote I had.

On my fourth one in two years at $50+ each. The back battery cover has broke on everyone I've bought and the replacement for it is about $20 for a little piece of plastic, so I just buy a new one. One of them also has broke where the ring attached to the remote. The key pad is also too sensitive, it will start, unlock and set off an alarm when the remote is in my pocket. I don't do reviews very often, this may be my first, but I would of never buy this remote start if I would of known the issues I would have with the remote.

I purchased this as a replacement due to the original ones quit working. I really like the redesigned case. It is easier to hold and due to the change in the battery cover position (no longer on the back - lost two previously because of this and ended up getting replacements and duct taping over them to keep them on), I shouldn't be able to lose it.

The directions that come with device is no good! My husband had to go on YouTube. Also, you do not get device that is shown in picture.

Replaced my broken remote with this one. I wanted the exact same thing I had when I first bought my security remote system. It works perfectly.

It took a bit to figure out how to set this up, but once it has been set up it seems to be working great. Happy with the replacement remote.

I ordered this remote to replace the broken one that originally came with my viper remote start / alarm. It is a way better design that the one that came with the alarm. I would recommend buying this one to replace the old one even if it is not broken. The original remote was a terrible design.

This remote is definitely better than the original one that came with my Viper. However, this is the second replacement remote I've had to get. The last one lasted about 2 years. It would get a full 5 stars if it lasted a bit longer.

Works as advertised. Customer service at Fargo Best Buy was exemplory.

Very good product. Will recommend to those who have a compatible viper system installed.
