Not what I was told it was by sales associates

The sales associates did not have knowledge of the product when they sold it to me. I brought it in for installation 30 days later to Geek Squad (the earliest appointment available) and it was not the right product. Best buy did not want to refund because it was opened (by their employees) and it exceeded the return policy date (this was the earliest day Best Buy had available). I am extremely dissatisfied with the whole process. I brought the vehicle to Sounds Good in Bridgeport, CT and it was completely easy to get the correct product installed.

Drained the car battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this installed on Friday , picked up the car on Saturday and didn't use my car on Sunday. Went out on Monday to leave for work and my car was completely dead. Since the car is 10 months old I knew it wasn't the car. I went back to best buy and Ryan spent quite a while checking connections on the whole remote system I left with the remote start connected and the smart start disconnected. He asked me to drive it for a while without the smart start. I have had no problems since. It could be that I received a bad module. Hopefully the next one will work as advertised

Don't be fooled...

I was so disgusted with the purchase of this unit I thought I would give my honest opinion. It works don't get me wrong, but it only 5% of the time. The Iphone app is flakey, slow and sends you error after error messages. I had this unit for 3 days and it worked twice out of the 20 times I tried it. Gives you command errors and it will randomly say incorrect password even tho you didn't touch it. Morning times it will never work. Viper refunded the $99.00 no problem for the 3 years of service, probably b/c they know it is useless. I returned the device and BB took it out no charge. Read the reviews on the Iphone app store it will tell you the same thing. Don't waste your time or money...

Don't Buy--Product Has Too Many Bugs/Uninstalled

Without exaggeration, if the device worked 40% of the time I am being generous. I purchased an add-on for a previous Viper Remote Start and a complete unit for my other car using Android phones (Sprint Epic/HTC Hero). Unit keeps give error messages. BB is uninstalling and company is refunding my full service plan. I was unable to determine any correlation of problem such as weather, cell signal strength, distance to vehicle, building construction; heck, I even stood next to the car on a clear sunny day.

Android Phone has bugs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Viper 5901 alarm w/ Smartstart. The Alarm is great. The Alarm Trigger is great. The Smartstart app is really buggy. It doesn't work half the time and I am being literal. You'll have to pay for the SmartStart App for Androids phones with a 3 yr Contract. I thought it would be a good deal but since it doesnt work, its a pretty bad deal. Their customer service is pretty bad as well. So not professional in any sense. Basically,it feels like they want your money, and they don't care about their customers. Try visting their website mysmartstart.com and go their FAQ's b/c it seems Iphone's are having problems as well. Most of the problems that have occurred happened when the 2.3 update came out. Sorry this so negative, but its a big hassle trying to make this thing work. I hate carrying my keys.

Awful and a total waste of money

After months of it not working properly I contacted customer service about it not working, they emailed me back over a week later saying they were sending the case to their technicians and it's been over 2 weeks since I've heard anything else. I would give it zero stars if I could. Do not waste your money.
