Every phone I have ever had is junk. This one the memory is full (have had it a little over a month). I keep changing my apps to the 64G card but they don't switch over so I have to deal w/ the icons & messages saying memory full. Texting is a NIGHTMARE! Takes 20 minutes to spell out a text & send, half the time it doesn't send. P.O.S.! DO NOT BUY!

It's A Good Phone But It Could Be Better

I upgraded to this phone when my LG Volt suddenly ran out of internal memory and was told that I could replace my it under my insurance plan. For what they were asking for a deductible I could get this phone with more internal memory for the same price. It appeared to be a decent phone for a price that wouldn't make my wallet cry. The first mistake LG made was removing the home button on the front of the phone that lit up. The second mistake was removing the options to make that button light up in a different color when you got a notification, your alarm went off, the phone was charging or somebody called you. It was a great way to find my phone in the dark when the cat knocked it onto the floor. That was one of the biggest things that drew me to the Volt. The K3 does not have this feature and it's a bit disappointing that LG did away with it. I was drawn to this particular phone because the power and volume buttons are on the sides of the phone rather than the back of it like every other newer phone on the market today. I was also drawn to it because of the expanded internal memory and because of the LG brand which I have always had phenomenal luck with. This phone has the option to set the screen brightness to zero between certain hours that you can set. Like my Volt it also has a "Do Not Disturb" (silent) setting that you can set for certain hours. (I have mine set for 11:00 PM to 6 AM Monday through Thursday and midnight to 7 AM Friday through Sunday.) You can also set it to have certain people call you during this time and I love how you can set it to be in this mode at different times for every day of the week if you so desire. Calls on this phone are pretty clear. (My grandfather who is nearly deaf told me to stop yelling at him. LOL.) Both the ear piece and speaker are clear and the speaker gives off excellent sound. My bluetooth devices connected easily and quickly and work well with the phone. The battery has an approximate ten hour use time (this is between apps, phone calls, text messages, and playing music. ) It takes around three to four hours to charge as long as you're not constantly on it while it's trying to charge. You can customize the lock and home screens with a picture of your choice from your phone or the ones that come pre loaded on the phone. It seems like in the attempt to make phones simpler to use LG has overlooked several things. This phone has the potential to have a four or five star rating if it weren't for several reasons. The first being that you cannot rearrange the apps in the apps menu nor can you remove the ones you won't use. There is no widget menu and you have to search through the pull down menu bar on the main screen if you want to use things like the flashlight. My next disappointment is that you cannot receive a voicemail notification if you disable the the visual voicemail app. (This has been a common Virgin Mobile thing for a few years now and one that I wish they'd change.) I have yet to figure out how to turn off the keyboard sounds when the phone is in Do Not Disturb mode without actually going into the settings and turning the feature off. (Edit: I wound up turning this feature off because I thought the sound was kind of annoying.) I was also extremely disappointed when I saw that 5.69 GB of the internal phone memory (an overall 8 GB) was used up just from starting up the phone and running the first system update upon activating it. That number changed to 5.72 of space used when I inserted my SD card with my pictures and music on it. The text messaging settings are standard primary colors and cannot be customized in any way. (At least not in any that I have been able to figure out yet.) The keyboard is overly sensitive; I'm not sure yet if that is something that will change over time with frequent use as I have not yet had the phone 24 hours. There is no way to make the keyboard buttons wider if you suffer from "fat fingers." (The keyboard can be made taller but does not help all that much in my opinion.) My contacts (which were saved to the SD card) did save to the contacts app on my phone but when somebody calls or messages me the numbers come up as unsaved contacts without the pictures that are saved with the contact. The phone is extremely thin and very lightweight so I recommend getting a case to give it some weight in your hand or if you're a klutz like me and are always dropping it. Both cameras function well. The rear facing camera takes excellent pictures both with and without the flash. Yes, if you take a picture in low light it will be a bit grainy (I took some at a concert last night where I can't use a flash) but if you can get some kind of lighting the pictures come out pretty good. The front facing camera needs A LOT of light to get a half decent picture, even if you have the flash on to take a brighter picture. Pictures taken with the front facing camera (both with and without the flash on) are very grainy and can be difficult to take pictures with. I could go either way on recommending this phone to somebody. As far as phones that are out there now this is one of the better ones if you're looking for a smartphone with basic functions. If you're looking for a phone to customize along with the functionality look for something else.

This phone is really horrible! I am thankful that Best Buy has a 14 day return policy! Even with a sd card there is still no storage. The app page sucks as well. Everything is on the home screen!
